William J. Davidson - September 01, 1930 - April 19, 2022

Departed: 04/19/2022 (Wilmington)
Obituary Preview: Who's in charge? Bill’s in charge to the very end!
William J. “Bill” Davidson passed away peacefully on April 19, literally surrounded by his family. Born September 1, 1930, in Osceola Mills, PA, he was the youngest and last member of his 7 siblings. His parents were Robert Gault Davidson who emigrated from Scotland as a child and Hannah Merriman Davidson.
Surviving to honor his memory are his daughters, Kathryne (Earl) Nichols of Fair Hill, MD, Laurie (Mark) Hess of Ocean View, DE and Lisa (Thomas) Lewandowski of Middletown, DE. Additional survivors include his eight grandchildren: Fallon, Jarrod, and Morgan Hess, Patrice, Victoria & Marlee Nichols, Corrine (Jon) Lanouette & Dylan Lewandowski and great grandchildren, Jonathan and Brielle Lanouette and Hunter Hess and numerous loved nieces and nephews. Bill was a self-made, successful businessman who started out in a one room schoolhouse, graduating a year early (though he was asked to skip graduation because of his many antics). He came to Delaware to join his siblings, Robert and Mabel and operated a gas station with Bob at Prices Corner. He met Betty Shoemaker in 1955 and they married in 1956, living initially in Peekskill, NY; then Cranston Heights over a barber shop; settling in New Castle and eventually
Wilmington. They were married 62 years until Betty's death in 2018. Always a hard worker, Bill was also a railroad fireman with the New York/PennCentral Railroad commuting to NY to work after his move to Delaware. In between and concurrently, he held other jobs as a salesman with Fader Ford and started a trash business. Along with Betty, he operated William Davidson Rubbish Removal, initially in residential service then moving on to commercial service until he sold the business to Waste Management. He worked for Waste Management, and then went on to own & operate All-Rite Rubbish Removal in Felton, DE. Their final venture was Able Recycling which they closed in 2018.
Along the way Bill was rarely not working. He was known to take long naps on the couch at their beach place in Pot Nets or later Andros, Bahamas but otherwise was full throttle whether it was fixing almost anything that needed fixed at home or work, all the while commuting an hour-plus to work in Felton for 20+ years. However, the trash people knew how to party! Conventions took Bill & Betty to fabulous locations all over the world: Asia, Europe, Australia, Africa where they enjoyed visiting magnificent locations and were always sure to bring home souvenirs for their children and grandchildren.
Among his many other pursuits, Bill assisted in the startup of two other trash businesses, served in the Army, piloted his own plane and mentored countless others. He was a member of the National Waste & Recycling Assn, Environmental Industries Assn, Detachable Container Assn and MD/DE Waste Assn. He was also inducted into the NWRA Hall of Fame.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 30 from 9:30-11AM at Harry's Savoy Grill, 2020 Naamans Road, Wilmington followed by a Celebration of Life at 11AM.

John Villermaux - February 08, 1970 - April 14, 2022

Departed: 04/14/2022 (Wilmington)
Obituary Preview: John Edward Villermaux, age 52, of Middletown, DE, formerly of the 40 acres in Wilmington, passed away on April 14, 2022. John attended St. Anne’s Catholic School until 1984 when he then proudly attended and graduated from Salesianum High School in 1988. He studied at the University of Delaware and received his bachelor’s degree from Wilmington College.
John was one of a kind. His confidence and unwavering belief in who he was made him the rock of his family. He was infinitely thoughtful and completely selfless. He believed in honesty and giving all you had to give in life with no need for return. His thoughtful character, his unmatched hugs, and his strength to move mountains for his people can never be replaced.
John started his career in packaging in 1999, where he worked at Eastern Seaboard Packaging. He navigated the industry working in sales and learning the business and then eight years ago found his home at United Brokerage Packaging. There he was able to utilize his talent in operations and quickly expanded locations in Newark, Delaware and Manassas, Virginia. His dedication to his customers proved him to be a trustworthy and committed supplier. He was always intentional in how he showed his appreciation to his team of drivers, operators, salesman and managers and his holiday parties will always be remembered.
John was passionate about sports. He was an encyclopedia of sports knowledge.  His first love, baseball, started at the Wilmington Optimist Little League. He also enjoyed basketball at St. Anne’s and spent many late nights in high school playing ice hockey with the men’s league. Watching his children excel at any sport was his greatest joy. He followed his oldest daughter Gabrielle for years on the soccer field and could recount every game, player, and opponent from her first travel team tryout through her career with UD Club Women’s Soccer. His music play-list was filled each year with Emma’s dance numbers and years later when his music shuffled to a song, he could tell you about her performance. He learned lacrosse through Emma and Jack and college lacrosse became another sport to watch from the corner of his couch. John’s years coaching Jack’s baseball team allowed him to share the game he loved with his son and bonded him to the players of the Middletown Titans and Diamond Town Brushbacks. He loved building the batting line-up and game planning with his fellow coaches. Matthew and his teammates, benefitted from John’s soccer pre-game speeches, honest post-game assessment and were often fueled for the game with his custom-made breakfast pancakes. Beyond sports, he loved to pour a cocktail for him and his wife, sit on the beach close to the waves and listen to music until late in the evening.
He was predeceased by his father, Robert Villermaux, and is survived by his wife, Susan, and their four children, Gabrielle, Emma, Jack and Matthew, as well as his mother, Carol (Dowling) Villermaux; sisters, Cynthia Villermaux, Anne Hickey (Jason); brother, Sean Smith (Ashley); niece, Lily; and nephews, Samuel, Kyle and Landon. He dearly loved and was forever grateful for his large extended family of Aunts, Uncles, cousins and adoring in-laws.  He will be missed until the end of days.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 22 from 4-7 p.m. at Doherty Funeral Home located at 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Services will follow on Saturday, April 23 at 11 also at Doherty Funeral Home.

Margaret V. Consiglio - July 22, 1937 - April 01, 2022

Departed: 04/01/2022 (Wilmington)
Obituary Preview: Margaret V. Consiglio passed away comfortably at home on Friday, April 1st, 2022 after a full and faithful life.
Margaret graduated from Christ Our King, Ursuline Academy, the University of Delaware, and Widener University, where she earned an MBA.  A lover of learning, she was always a student, most recently at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Delaware in Wilmington.
As a young adult, Margaret entered the convent as a cloistered member of the Ursulines, but as silence and obedience were not suited to her temperament, she returned to Wilmington, began her career, fell in love, and started a family.
Margaret made a career of helping people as a teacher and development director.  She taught at Christ Our King School, Ursuline Academy, St. Edmond's Academy, St. Peter’s Cathedral School, and Goldey-Beacom College, and spent several decades as Development Director for Catholic Charities, Ursuline Academy, and Padua Academy.  She enjoyed many lifelong friendships with her students, including many “Kingers”, who used to gather at “Mrs. C.’s” house to hang out and play Pong.
Margaret sang for 60 years in the St. Peter’s Cathedral Choir where she met Carmen Consiglio, the choir director and love of her life.  They enjoyed 39 years of marriage before Carmen’s death in 2003.  It was through the choir and the Academy of Lifelong Learning that she met Bert Damron, whom she later married. They spent the last 11 years of their lives together.  Margaret was grateful to have spent 50 years married to two very good men.
As a mother, a grandmother, and great grandmother, she enjoyed family gatherings, driving kids to practices and lessons, taking the college aged kids out to dinner, and an occasional limo ride to The Melting Pot.  A dedicated Dollar Store shopper, she gave each child an allowance and enjoyed watching them express their personalities as they saved or spent their funds.
Margaret loved music and writing.  She played piano and flute and sang in the Delaware Women’s Chorus.  She loved telling stories, and honed her craft writing essays and fiction.  She loved diagraming a good sentence.
Above all, Margaret loved people.  When first widowed, she formed the Holy Huggers, a group of friends from church who offered hugs to anyone who needed one.  When asked what she was most proud of, she said her family and all of the people she was able to help.  She considered her ability to serve a blessing, and she reminded her family to love and be grateful.  She ended each day in prayer, thanking God for each member of her family by name.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. Vogel and Ruth Wolf Vogel, husbands Carmen and Bert, and siblings, Joseph Vogel, John Vogel, and Ginger (Hagerty) Lauk.  She is survived by her sisters Christine Baker (Edward) of Wilmington, Loretta Murphy (Brian) or Wilmington, and Cathy Crusco (John) of Dover.
Margaret is also survived by her children; Loretta Consiglio-Ward (Patrick) of Wilmington, David Consiglio (Jill Liebling) of Garnett Valley, Joseph Consiglio (Susan Howe) of Media, and Michael Consiglio (Christine) of Camp Hill, grandchildren; Julieta Kang (Deeben), Rachel, Kelly, and Charlotte Ward, Naomi, and Leah Consiglio, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Margaret Howe-Consiglio, Michael, Matthew, and Julia Consiglio, great grandchildren; Ellie, Brandon, Jackson, and Ace Kang, and many nieces, nephews, and other members of the Vogel, Consiglio, Damron, and Dennis families.
The family will accept friends and guests on Thursday April 7, 2022 from 6pm-8pm at the Doherty Funeral Home located at 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington DE.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday April 8, 2022 at 9am at the Cathedral of Saint Peter located at 500 N.
