Mitchell Alvah Hamlet - March 25, 1990 - April 07, 2022

Obituary Preview: Mitchell Alvah Hamlet, age 32 of Monticello, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 7, 2022.  He was preceded in death by grandparents Alvah and Julia (Diethelm) Hamlet, and Lawrence and Elizabeth (Gee) LaBree; and aunt Rebecca (LaBree) Mattei . He is survived by mother Luella LaBree (Kevin); father Dennis Hamlet (Kerry); siblings Jacob (Emily), Bridget (Jonathan), Jessica, Kari (Darby), Eric (Jacqelene), and Emily (Jeff); nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, care workers; and friends of the family. Mitchell enjoyed spending time with loved ones and was always on the go, regardless of his complex special needs. Although he could not speak, Mitchell communicated through sounds and actions, oftentimes by gently taking someone’s hand to help him get what he wanted - usually a treat that he wasn’t supposed to have or a beloved fidget toy.  Mitchell rarely sat still, but when he did, it was to enjoy a cuddle with someone close to him; and he liked nothing more than to have his hands and feet massaged.  Mitchell’s infectious, devilish laugh would light up a room and have everyone joining in, without anyone knowing what was so funny.  Mitchell taught everyone around him how to find joy in the little things. A memorial service and celebration of Mitchell’s life will be held on Sunday, April 24, 2022 from 11:00AM-1:00PM with a time to share memories at 12:30PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Funeral Chapel, 250 E. Kent Kjellberg - Unknown - February 17, 2022

Departed: 02/17/2022 (Monticello)
Obituary Preview: Kent Kjellberg
Kent Kjellberg passed away at home, surrounded by his family on February 17, 2022.
Kent Miller Kjellberg was born on February 13, 1936, at home in Monticello to Martin (“Marty”) Kjellberg and Alma Mae (“Mae”) Lyrenmann. Kent said that he couldn’t have gotten better parents if he’d ordered them from God. He started working for his dad at the age of 14, delivering gas to farms. He also worked at the family appliance and furniture store in downtown Monticello.
Kent was a front lineman for the Monticello Redmen, graduating from high school in 1954. After taking classes at St. Cloud State Teachers College, Kent decided to go into business for himself. Kent said he learned more from the people he met than he did from his studies.
Kent owned and operated Kjellberg’s Mobile Home Park and Sales Center for 55 years. He was a leader in the mobile home industry and took pride in planning, building, and maintaining a community for thousands of residents over the years.
Kent was many things: a business owner, pilot, gold miner, farmer, land developer, heavy equipment operator, and builder. The titles he was most proud of were Dad and Grandpa. He loved his family fiercely and was a great teacher on how to live a good life.
Kent left every place better than he found it. He was always ready to fix anything, clean up a mess, or help someone in need. If you knew Kent, you were likely a recipient of his kindness and generosity (and a keychain flashlight). However, Kent was not one to back down from a fight, whether in skirmishes with local government or battling invasive buckthorn, and he always stood firm in his convictions. Kent loved working on his land, spending time with his best dog, Kit Carson, having conversations with his children, traveling, meeting friends for lunch, and the pleasure of an evening at home with his wife. As Kent was fond of saying, “Life is so short, and we make such a fuss of it.”
Kent is loved and remembered by his wife of 28 years, Meridith Kjellberg; his children, Kim Kjellberg, Kirk Kjellberg (Mary), Marty Kjellberg (Jimmie Evans and Lee), and Kriston (“Joey”) Genzano (Lou); his stepchildren, Keri Phillips (Jon Bakke) and Joey Phillips (Molly); his grandchildren, Kristina Kjellberg, Alyssa Olson (Dan), Antonia Vujnovich (Steve Pearson), Alexandria Vujnovich, Alec Genzano, Jesse Genzano, Andria Durazo, Desmond Phillips, Ingrid Phillips Bakke, and Margot Phillips; his great-grandchildren, Aurelia Olson and Theodore Pearson; and his siblings, Keith Kjellberg and Kacey Kjellberg. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kurt Kjellberg and Kevin Kjellberg, and daughter, Kathy Kjellberg.
A memorial for Kent will be held at a later date. If desired, memorials can be made in Kent’s honor to the Monticello Rotary Club, care of Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, Monticello, MN 55362.

Helen Esther Hyttsten - November 25, 1926 - January 28, 2022

Departed: 01/28/2022 (Monticello)
Obituary Preview: Age 95 of Becker died on January 28, 2022.  Services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at Riverside Church in Big Lake, Minnesota.  Pastor Skipp Machmer and Glen McKinney will officiate.  Interment will be at Becker Cemetery.
Helen was born November 25, 1926 to John and Della (Gilyard) Henry in rural Foley.  She graduated from Foley High School and attended St. Cloud Beauty College.  Helen married Lester Hyttsten on January 20, 1951.  Helen was a homemaker, helped on the farm, cut hair and later was a rural mail carrier in Becker.
Helen’s passion for life, faith, and love for others was seen through her everyday activities.  As a devoted farm wife and mother, Helen worked side by side with Lester, the love of her life.  Her presence, encouragement, and care made for a secure and loving home for her three children.  Helen loved hosting and entertaining friends and relatives.  Lots of food, lots of fun, and heartfelt caring defined any birthday, anniversary or other excuse to get together.  Helen loved her yard and especially her raspberries.  Her famous jam was enjoyed by so many.  Another way that Helen blessed others was with the kitchen towels she embroidered.  The only thing she enjoyed more than hand stitching each one, was giving them away to those she cared for.
Ultimately Helen’s life was defined by her faith and love for her Lord Jesus Christ.  She loved the richness of the old hymns and embraced the new worship styles as she thrived on worshipping together with all generations.  Helen consistently read and studied the Scripture with great passion.  Her joy was not in the religious activity but in living out the gospel in each area and circumstance of life.  We miss her greatly.
Helen is survived by her brother Alvin (Connie) Henry of Foley.  Son David (Dianne) of Monticello, daughters Joyce (Ken) Herbranson of Battle Lake, Della (Calvin) Anderson of Paynesville, grandchildren Dan (Mamie) Hyttsten, Naomi (Darren) Lieser, John (Jaynee) Hyttsten, Anna (Jason) Wilkerson, Carrie (Ian) Cadorna, Molly (CJ) Barr, Mark (Erin) Anderson, Matthew Anderson, great grandchildren Sam, Hannah, Josiah, Tirzah, Ezra, Eliza, Zeke, August, Lance, Hugo, Lainey, Ellie, Milroy, Wilfred, Mabel, Eowyn, and Wilder and many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Lester on February 16, 2008, brothers Vernon Henry and Donald Henry, sisters Alma Herbst and Doris Neumann.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 1 from 5:00 – 7:00PM at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 E Broadway St and one hour before the funeral at the church on Wednesday.
