Charlie Cully - Unknown - March 27, 2022

Departed: 03/27/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: A glimpse in the life of Charlie Cully, beloved best friend of Sonja, Scott, and Katie Cully, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Chuck. Charles. Pedro. Chuckles. The Regal Beagle. Houndini (he was always escaping the fence). Sir Charles. My hiking buddy. My wittle baby. The keeper to all my secrets. My emotional support animal. Charlie. And above all else, my best friend in the whole entire world. My heart shattered this morning when Charlie went to see God and I have truly never felt as much pain as I have today. I know he’s running around on the greenest of grass, howling up a storm, chasing rabbits, eating all the treats and steak you could imagine, and most importantly, not in pain anymore. This was the best 10 years of having you by my side through everything. I will miss and love you forever my wittle baby

Departed: 03/24/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: Lilly Mae Bird, crossed over the Rainbow bridge, peacefully at 5:45pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022, with family at her side.
Born in January of 2013, Lilly Mae was a winter angel.  She was raised the beloved girl of Chad and Melissa Bird and family. From that small pup with one blue eye, that laid her lil head on their shoulder and gave a lil kiss on their cheek, they knew she was forever to be their girl.  She never caused any problems and was a pretty as the first falling snow. With a lot of children in the family, she was surrounded with love always. She loved to play with the kids, was always proud to go for truck rides with dad, and like any pretty girl, Lilly Mae, lavished in her trips to Four Paws Grooming for her bath and nail pampering.
Lilly Mae, you are so loved. Your big hugs and slobbering kisses will be forever missed.

Angel Foreman - Unknown - February 26, 2022

Departed: 02/26/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: Angel, the beloved little girl of Greg Foreman and family, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday, February 26, 2022.
Angel became a part of Greg's life in the spring of 2010.  Angel was such an important part of Greg's life...it seems only fitting he has such special words for her...
I was in need of fur baby companionship after losing a previous fur baby. I found her at a pet store in Marion. What I liked most about her at the time was the vibrant colors of her hair. She was beautiful.  She interacted so well with me at our first meeting, it was as if she was choosing me and not the other way around. It was Angel and myself alone for about a year. At that time we saved another little fur ball (Buddy) as a rescue. Those two became great friends and companions. brother and sister. They were both such joys in my life.  Angel loved to travel with me. I am an avid camper, and she loved getting out into the great outdoors and smelling all of the unique smells of nature. Buddy left us and travelled to the other side of the rainbow bridge about 3 years ago. Angel missed him terribly.  It wasn't long after that we found her another companion off the street in need of a home. His name is Rocky. Rocky was right there with her when she passed over, and he loved her every bit as much as I did. He misses her, and it's very sad to watch him sulk and lay in her kennel on her blanket. Angel took a piece of my heart with her when she left. She was with me longer than any other non human friend I ever had. But 12 years wasn't long enough. I miss you my little Angel.  I love you.

Mickey Craig - Unknown - February 10, 2022

Departed: 02/10/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: When Donnie and Cathy went to the shelter to rescue a beagle, they had no idea how their lives would be changed forever and who was rescuing who. Cathy had the honor of picking him out and naming him, Mickey.  At the early age of six weeks old, they could already tell he was stubborn and loved to run, running in their woods for hours. Just a couple weeks ago, his running led him straight to a skunk, which didn't fare well for Mickey. He loved to go for car rides and snuggle in bed with his momma Cathy. Mickey felt he deserved a treat every time Cathy came home. Mickey was her "brown eyed boy."  He is now in Heaven with Donnie, who loved him just as much. Mickey passed away running free, doing what he loved. Run, Mickey, Run....nothing can hurt you in Heaven.

Mia Mae Prowell - Unknown - January 25, 2022

Departed: 01/25/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: Mia Mae Prowell, age 12, of Marion, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, surrounded by her mom, dad, and beloved Dr. Troop at 11:30am at Troop Veterinary Services in Marion. Mia had fought a brave battle with cancer for over three months. She was a fighter, fighting until the end.
Mia was adopted in 2009 from a puppy mill in Branson, Missouri at the age of 8 weeks. Mia has been such a pleasure to her family. Her favorite snack was beef jerky which she dearly loved. She loved to watch the security cameras and would definitely let the family know if someone or anything was on her property that should not be there. She loved to go bye-bye and see her favorite vet, Dr. Troop. She loved to sit in her momma's chair. It didn't matter if she was busy or not, she demanded to be picked up and put in the chair with momma. She loved to be petted by all of the family, especially Bill. He would massage her head, which she adored.  Mia was the best dog, even when she was so sick at the end of her life. She loved it outside on the deck so she could watch the birds and see the trains if any went by.
Mia was preceded in death by her sister, Emalee in 2020. They were best friends and very close companions. If you saw one, you would see the other. Emalee was deaf, so whatever Mia was doing, Emalee would do the same. They were very funny and brought much joy and laughter.
We sure do miss and love you, Mia. You are now pain free and with Emalee again and the rest of your family. You will be dancing in the sky. At last again, I see your face,
Grieve not, I am in a better place.

Cooper Rose - Unknown - January 05, 2022

Departed: 01/05/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: Cooper, the beloved "Gentle Giant" of Jason and Kelly Rose, crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
Cooper was adopted on July 25th, 2010 in Phoenix, AZ by Jason and Kelly Rose. Some of his favorite activities included: Chasing and fetching his toy snowball in the yard, snuggling into any tight space whether he fit or not, sleeping on the couch, taking car rides with his head hanging out the window, handshaking and high-fiving with anyone, eating chicken and he LOVED treats.
Cooper was a gentle giant. He dreamt violently, thrashing his legs, most likely chasing rabbits or squirrels. The quickest way to his heart was to simply pet his head. He was so loved and will be missed by many. Though the pain we feel without him is great, it in no way would compare to having never had him in our lives. Cooper leaves behind a four legged brother Uno, his human siblings Jake and Ava and his dad and mom, Jason and Kelly.
Cooper was a rescue and he never forgot that. He was the best boy, but his family knows they were the lucky ones, to call him theirs. He expressed his gratitude every single day and returned the unconditional love abundantly.

Sushi Merrill-Gunn - Unknown - January 02, 2022

Departed: 01/02/2022 (Du Quoin)
Obituary Preview: Sushi, feisty fur baby of Tiffiany Merrill and John Gunn, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday, January 2, 2022.  He was full of mischief and kept his family on their toes. He loved going to work his mama and his trips to visit his friends at McDonalds. He will be dearly missed.
They will not go quietly, the pets who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be, And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them... and always will.
