Saber Richards - August 02, 2010 - March 02, 2023

Departed: 03/02/2023 (Elwood)
Obituary Preview: Saber our white German Shepherd and the best boy ever, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023.  His passing followed a life of faithful and loving companionship to his family, endless treats, belly scritches, ball chasing, chewing on his favorite stuffed animals (preferably with squeakers inside of them), and begging for food from anyone who was eating "people food".
He got excited with every knock on the front door, car driving down the road, and visit from the mail man and alerted his family with a ferocious bark.  He would also alert his family to possible invasions from kitties, squirrels and bunnies.
Saber was born August 2, 2010 and was a little white ball of fluff when his boy, Davey brought him home. When Davey joined the Army, Saber came to live with his Mamaw and Papaw Richards and wasn't allowed to leave when Davey came back home.
Saber is waiting at the Rainbow Bridge in Heaven with his brothers, Bandit and Duke, for his family, David & Jennifer Richards of Elwood; Davey & Kayla Richards of Bloomington: his mamaw, Judy Townsend of Elwood; his favorite little people, Tessa and Caytee  of Elwood, and Harper, David & Holden of Bloomington; and his sister, Rosie who is missing him terribly.
Saber's family thanks the doctors and staff of Alexandria Animal Hospital for the love and kindness shown to Saber and our family through out his life.
Dunnichay Funeral Home has been entrusted with Saber's care following his passing. www.dunnichayfuneralhome.com
