Departed: 03/26/2022 (Ontario)

Sandra Marie Lobato - October 27, 1956 - January 10, 2022

Departed: 01/10/2022 (Ontario)
Obituary Preview: Transition complete, the queen of our hearts has officially received her wings…
On the night of January 10, 2022, one of the strongest women in this world, removed her rhinestone coat of armor and was adorned in the diamond crusted angel wings she worked her whole life towards.  Our mother/grandmother Sandra “Sandie” Marie Lobato, at 65 years of age is at peace, out of pain and is officially an angel shining down upon us. Sandie was born October 27, 1956, in Pomona California, the eldest of 6 children and is currently survived by her mother, sisters, children and grandchildren. While she was a gorgeous woman of many talents she is best known for her kind and generous heart, the ability to let nothing break her down with a tenacity to make the most of life, making memories while continuing to learn along the way, with her faith in God, her children and grandchildren at the center of her universe. Sandie always had a passion for fashion and education; traits of which were easily identifiable when looking at her and listening to her speak.  As she worked her way through life and achieving goals, she always ensured to look her best with inspiration coming from some of her favorite icons being Cher, Marilyn Monroe and Coco Channel. While Sandie was a young mother, she managed to keep education at the forefront earning a BA degree with emphasis on Behavioral Science, she was also a successful entrepreneur in which she owned and managed group homes for the mentally ill, finishing out her career as a Director of Medical Records.
While Sandie was an independent woman, her focus always remained on her family, doing her best to instill in them the importance of a relationship with God and to be able to provide for yourself and help others; and this meant helping in any way possible.  People knew if there was anyone, they could count on it would be her. Whether it be lending a listening ear, sending prayers, planning the most glammed out, decked out, epic parties or providing a plethora of knowledge related to medical terminology and practices and so on, she would be there for you. You name it, she could do it, and if she didn’t know how, she would learn how or help guide you along the way.  All the while never letting her many life’s challenges get in the way.  This is what truly set her apart from others. She was passionate about helping others especially because she loved her family and friends so much.
Although she was a glamorous woman, she also knew how to let her hair down and have fun in any type of environment.  Whether it be camping outdoors, hanging out with friends at the lake, traveling to different parts of the world with family, some of her favorite places being Mexico, Italy, Amsterdam, Germany and her most recent love being Puerto Rico, hitting the casinos, or something as simple as enjoying a good meal, paired with cocktails and hanging out with friends playing Loteria, wherever she was you knew you were in for a good time.
While we are heartbroken that we will not be able to hug our mother/grandmother or hear her call our names, we find comfort in the fact that she has officially earned her wings and is no longer in pain nor with any of life’s challenges in her path.  She will continue to shine light in our lives, and we will continue to honor her by living our best lives, centered on God, while helping others, striving to make her proud every day.
Shine bright like the diamond you are Mom/Grammy. You are forever loved and cherished more than anyone can ever imagine.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including biographical information, details about their life, and information about the funeral or memorial service.

What is the purpose of an obituary?

The primary purpose of an obituary is to inform friends, family, and community members of a person's passing and to provide details about the funeral or memorial service. It also serves as a way to honor and celebrate the person's life.

Who typically writes an obituary?

Obituaries are often written by family members, close friends, or a funeral home. In some cases, a professional writer may be hired to write the obituary.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, survivors (family members), predeceased relatives, education, occupation, hobbies, achievements, and information about the funeral or memorial service.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary, but it's usually between 100-500 words. The most important information should be included in the first few paragraphs, with additional details provided later in the obituary.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many online obituary platforms and newspapers allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can help personalize the tribute and make it more engaging.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of a person's passing, usually including only basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary is a more detailed and personalized tribute that provides additional information about the person's life.

Where can I publish an obituary?

Obituaries can be published in local newspapers, online obituary platforms, funeral home websites, and social media. You can also create a memorial website or blog to share the obituary and other memories.

How much does it cost to publish an obituary?

The cost of publishing an obituary varies depending on the platform or newspaper. Some online platforms offer free or low-cost options, while traditional newspapers may charge by the word or line.

Can I write my own obituary?

Yes, some people choose to write their own obituary in advance. This can ensure that their life story is told accurately and honestly, and can also help reduce stress for loved ones during a difficult time.

What is an online obituary?

An online obituary is a digital version of a traditional printed obituary. It can include photos, videos, stories, and other multimedia elements to create a more interactive and engaging tribute.

How long do online obituaries stay online?

The duration that an online obituary remains available varies depending on the platform. Some platforms keep obituaries online indefinitely, while others may remove them after a certain period.

Can I edit an obituary after it's been published?

In some cases, it may be possible to edit an obituary after it's been published. However, this depends on the platform or newspaper's policies. It's essential to proofread carefully before submitting the obituary for publication.

What if I need to correct errors in an obituary?

If you notice errors in an already-published obituary, contact the platform or newspaper immediately. They may be able to correct the errors and republish the revised obituary.

Can I include charitable donations in an obituary?

Yes, many families choose to include information about charitable donations in lieu of flowers in the obituary. This can help support a cause that was important to the deceased.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

Contact the newspaper's obituary department directly to ask about their submission process and guidelines. Be prepared to provide all necessary information and payment (if required).

Can I write an anonymous obituary?

What if I want to write multiple versions of an obituary?

You may want to write different versions of an obituary for different audiences or purposes (e.g., a longer version for online publication and a shorter version for print). This is perfectly acceptable as long as you're respectful of the person being honored.

Yes, many online platforms allow you to include links or URLs in an online obituary. This can direct readers to additional resources, such as memorial websites or donation pages.

How do I ensure accuracy when writing an obituary?

To ensure accuracy when writing an obituary, verify facts through multiple sources whenever possible. Also, proofread carefully before submitting the obituary for publication.

What if I'm unsure about what to include in an obituary?

If you're unsure about what to include in an obituary, consider consulting with family members, close friends, or a funeral home director for guidance. You can also seek inspiration from other published obituaries.
