Obituary Preview: Barbara A. Deljanovan, 66, of Williamsport, passed away at her residence on Thursday, April 14, 2022. Barbara Ann was born March 6, 1956, in Williamsport to the late Bert and Joyce (Preston) Schweikart.
Barbara loved crafting and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. She always looked forward to trips to the Ogdensburg area, where she grew up, and to Rose Valley Lake to view the beautiful scenery.  Most important to Barbara was her family and times she spent with them.
Surviving Barbara are her children; Duke (Rebecca) Deljanovan of Carlisle and Alicia (Michael) Thompson of Williamsport, grandchildren; James Martz, Jaxson Thompson and Janelle Thompson, sisters; Martha (Brad) Dake of Canton and Mary (Dennis) Miller of Cogan Station, a stepbrother; John (Jan) Preston of Canton, three nephews, a niece and several cousins.

Curtis D. Spalding Sr. - March 02, 1952 - April 11, 2022

Obituary Preview: Curtis D. Spalding Sr., 70, life-long resident of Troy, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022, at his residence while surrounded by his loving family. Curtis Dale was born in Sayre on March 3, 1952, to the late Curtis E. and Marian Mae (Greenough) Spalding. He attended Troy Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1970. On November 21, 1970, Curtis married Deborah Burt in the East Troy Methodist Parsonage. Together they shared 51 years of loving marriage and raised two sons. Curt, as known by most, was a hard worker his entire life. As a young man he grew up in the Troy area and assisted with his parent’s businesses, the Troy Motel and Tastee Freeze. Later, he drove truck and was a well-known mechanic throughout the area. He had a great passion for street cars and race cars, which has been passed down through the Spalding family for years. A proud tradition that still continues.
Curt was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. He was a caring and compassionate man that would help anyone in a time of need. Those who had the pleasure to know Curt would say he was a honest man who was liked by all.  Most of all he was a simple man and a outstanding husband, father and grandfather who made sure family always came first.  Mr. Spalding was a member of the; Lions Club, Booster Club, 4x4 Racing Team and the Sons of the American Legion all of Troy.
He leaves behind; his wife, Debbie Spalding of Troy, sons; Curtis D. (Wendy) Spalding Jr. of Michigan and William P. (Stacy) Spalding of Troy, grandchildren; Arica (Nathan) Jennings, Blake Spalding (Fiancee Cait), Tyler Spalding, Jared Spalding, Nicole Spalding, great grandchildren; Grant and Lydia Jennings and Connor Spalding, a sister; Cheryl (Eddy) Wright of Mosherville as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Curt was predeceased by his brother Keith Rodrick Spalding.

Lawrence C. "Larry" Wooster - June 28, 1943 - April 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Lawrence C. Wooster, 78, of Gillett, passed away at his residence while surrounded by the love of his family Saturday morning, April 9, 2022. Lawrence Carleton was born June 28, 1943, in Williamsport to the late Carleton “Carty” and Eleanor (McIlwain) Wooster. He attended Canton area schools and was president of his graduating class of 1961. Subsequently, Larry attended Williamsport Area Community College and majored in Diesel Mechanics.  In 1966 Lawrence proudly joined the United States Army during the Vietnam Era, where he served as a helicopter mechanic.  In 1971 he married the former Janice Stone. They shared 51 years of marriage and together raised their loving children. Lawrence was a self-employed mechanic from 1989 to 2017 operating Wooster's Garage in Bentley Creek. He was a man of faith in the Lord and was a long-time member of the Newelltown United Methodist Church.
Lawrence was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, cutting wood and anytime he could spend in the woods taking in all the beauty nature had to offer. He also looked forward to a good old auction. Most important to Larry was his family and the time they shared together, especially his beloved grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife; Janice (Stone) Wooster of Gillett, children; Angie (Todd) Sargent of Lancaster, Kim Smith and Mike (Lori) Wooster all of Bentley Creek, grandchildren; Ashley Sargent and Thomas Smith, a sister; Dianne (Erwin) Spencer of Ogdensburg as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Obituary Preview: William T. Grogan, 81, beloved husband of Rosemarie Grogan, of LeRoy Township, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away at home on Saturday April 9, 2022, with his family by his side. Born May 11,1940 he was a son of the late Haskel and Fannie (Capps) Grogan.  Bill was a loving family man and especially enjoyed the times spent with his grandkids and great grandkids.
With a big heart and the gift of gab, Bill was an avid card player and made friends easily.  He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing or just mowing the yard with his John Deere Tractor.
Mr. Grogan work for various businesses throughout his life and later enjoyed living in the countryside of Bradford County Pennsylvania upon retirering.
He is survived by his loving family.

Polly Edna was born April 24, 1948, in Canton Township, one of fourteen children, to the late Addison and Etta (McNeal) Porter. Polly attended Canton Area Schools. On April 24, 1999, Polly married Simeon Jackson in the Grover Church of Christ. Together they shared twenty-two years of marriage.
Polly was very talented at crocheting. She was an avid collector and more than likely had anything you needed. She enjoyed yards sales and was known as the “Yard Sale Queen.” Polly was a loving and caring mom, not just to her own children but to everyone's. Her life revolved around her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves behind her husband; Simeon Jackson of Grover, children; Bonnie (John) Hoose of E. Smithfield, Jody Gordon of Canton and David (Theresa) Porter of E. Smithfield, grandchildren; Joshua Hoose, Lacey (Josh) Ames, Jessie (Tyler) Secules, Dillon Gordon, Taylor (Colten) Riordan, Nicole Porter, Ryan (Marya) Porter and Cheyenne (Rob) Porter, ten great grandchildren, siblings; Mary Walburn of Troy, Randy Porter, Gary Porter and Tom Porter all of Canton and Ruthellen Machmer of Troy, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, Polly was predeceased by her siblings; Butch, Mable, Doggie, Deanie, Charlie, Connie, Rosie and an infant Michael.

Robert "Bob" Bowens Jr. - March 14, 1937 - March 28, 2022

Obituary Preview: Robert “Bob” Bowens Jr., 85, of Blossburg, PA, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Bradford County Manor in Troy.  Born March 14, 1937 in Imperial, PA, to the late Robert Sr. and Kathryn (Heckler) Bowens.
He was a 1955 graduate of Blossburg High School and then entered the U.S. Army. Mr. Bowens’ proudly served with the 3rd Armored Division, where he enjoyed attending many reunions throughout the United States.
On May 11, 1968, Robert married the former Ann Marie Lutomski in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Morris Run. Together they shared 50 years of loving marriage before her passing on July 7, 2018.
Robert was a member of Siloa Lutheran Church in Morris Run. He was active with Bloss F&AM Lodge 350, Williamsport Consistory as well as the Irem Temple Shrine of Dallas, PA.  Bob was a life member of; Hillside Rod & Gun Club, Arnot Sportsman’s Club, Red Run Rod and Gun Club, Wheel Inn and the Morris Run American Legion 167.
He was an avid outdoorsman.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling throughout the North Eastern U.S. His main interest encompassed family, especially his two grandchildren.
Surviving is his son, Robb (Amy) Bowens of Blossburg, grandchildren, Hannah and Spencer Bowens, a sister; Edna J. LeVan of Osceola, PA, sister in law, Dorothy Lutomski of Blossburg, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Beside his belove wife Ann, he was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Bowens III, Brother in Law, Donald LeVan and several Brothers in law and Sisters in law.
Family will receive friends 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Siloa Lutheran Church, Corner of Water and Main St. Morris Run, PA 16939 with services following a 11 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date in Morris Run’s St. Joseph’s Cemetery with military honors accorded

Davis "Dave" VanDyke Shedden - September 15, 1940 - March 28, 2022

Obituary Preview: Davis “Dave” Shedden, 81, well known resident of Canton, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Davis VanDyke was born in Elmira, New York on September 15, 1940, to the late Leslie Shedden and Evelyn (VanDyke) Shedden Sechrist. He attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1958. After graduating, Dave was employed by the Strong Berg Carlson telephone company where he helped to install automatic dial switchboards with crews in Indiana, North Dakota and Minnesota.  Dave proudly enlisted in the United States Army on September 28, 1959, and was stationed at Fort Gordon, Georgia and then served a special assignment at a building called Tall Antenna Towers at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. On September 27, 1961, he received his honorable discharge and earned the rank of Specialist 4th Class. In 2021 Dave humbly wore his Army's original khaki uniform to church on Veteran’s Day. After serving in the Army, he attended South Georgia Technical and Vocational School in Americus, Georgia where he received a degree in Diesel Engine Repair. Dave was employed for 14 years by Jones and Brague Mining Company until their closure in 1984. He then started his own company with his son Charles, named Shedden Trucking. Together they hauled coal, flat bed freight and California produce. Deciding to expand their business they worked in the Gas Well industry and operated a fleet of trucks that hauled for Milton Transport as well as tankers that ran throughout the United States, Ontario and Quebec. Today the Gas Well Industry and Milton Trucking still continue for Shedden Trucking. In January of 2022 Dave was still going to the garage every day, seeing to the daily operations. Unfortunately, after developing breathing problems and being hospitalized with pneumonia the family received the unfortunate news that Dave had stage four lung cancer, although he never  smoked. Dave was a courageous four-year survivor of esophageal and thyroid cancer.
Dave loved and enjoyed; history, books, traveling and meeting new people. He was a man of Faith in the Lord and a member and Trustee of the Ward United Methodist Church.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years, Maxine (Merritt) Shedden of Canton, sons; James (Linda) Shedden of Madrid, Spain, Charles (Teresa) Shedden of Canton and Craig (Lee) Shedden of Denver, Colorado, grandchildren; Olivia (Rafael) of Almeria, Spain, Jacob (Susan) of Troy, Sam (student at Cal U), Noah (senior at North Penn Liberty) Sean of Madrid, Spain, great-great granddaughters; Joanna, Evelyn, Elizabeth and a baby girl due in July, a sister; Alice Zumba of Santa Rosa, CA., brothers; Scott (Elaine) Shedden of Canton and Leo (Jennie) Shedden of Ann Arbor, Michigan, sisters in law; Linda Merritt of Canton, Debbie (Tom) Elliott of Towanda as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his stepfather of 30 plus years, that the family truly loved, Clyde Sechrist.

Obituary Preview: Marvin H. Kromer, 85, of Towanda, formerly of Emaus, Pennsylvania, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at the Troy Guthrie Community Hospital in Troy, PA. Marvin Howard was born in Bethlehem, PA on December 2,1936; a son of the late Marvin and Mary (Wargo) Kromer.  He was a graduate of Emaus High School and afterward enlisted in the US Air Force. Most of Marvin's life he worked as a carpenter and was a talented woodworker. Throughout the years he enjoyed traveling north to the beautiful mountains of Bradford County. Approximately 10 years ago Marvin moved to the Towanda area and made his home. He was a true outdoorsman and was an avid hunter.
Surviving is his son, William Kromer, daughter in law, Shirlene Kromer, grandchildren, Kristina, Avontage, Teesha, Sanbria, Shaun and Michael, great grandson, Dillon, his companion of 23 years, Emma Fisher, brother, Richard (Joyce) Kromer, several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends and neighbors.
Marvin was predeceased by his wife, Phyllis (Truchan) Kromer in 1996, a daughter, Sharon Anderson in 1997, a son, Robert Kromer in 2020 and a grandson, Matthew Kromer in 1987.

She was employed as a Certified Nurses' Assistant at Manor Care in Williamsport for nearly 30years until her declining health permitted her to no longer work. Gloria was a member of the Red Run Rod & Gun Club and the Marine Corps League's Deer Crossing Detachment both of Ralston. Gloria was an avid billiard player. She oftenlooked forwardgoingtothe Forest Inn to shoot a few games of pool and visit with friends. Gloria’s life truly encompassed her family and friends, especially her grandson, Carter. She was a very outgoing individual with a huge heart. She would never turn her back to anyone in need andlend a hand whenever possible. Surviving Gloria is her son; Cecil Martin (Tifany Austin) both of Ralston, mother; Cheryl (Terry) Moore of Flordia, grandson; Carter Martin, brothers; Kenneth Fernsler III andRonald (Teresa) Fernsler both of Florida, a sister; Brenda (Dallas) Bastian of Ralston, fiancé; Tom Vargo of Trout Run, stepdaughter; Kaylee Vargo of Montoursville, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gloria was predeceased by her grandma,Minnie Hunter. A celebration of Gloria’s life at the Ralston Fire Hall will be announced at a later date. (Metzger) Pepper, 82, of Monroeton (Franklin Township, PA)passed away at the Troy Guthrie Hospital,on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, due to complications with surgery.Linda was born December 29, 1939,to the late Clarence and Erma (Taylor) Metzger. She attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1958 where she was very active in the Home Economics program. Shortly after high school Linda married her true love, Carlyle “Bud” Pepper in Leroy Township. Together they shared more than 51 years of blessed marriage and raised three children until Bud’s passing on September 30, 2010. Linda was a member of the Leroy Independent Baptist Church. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Linda knew she was a hard worker. In her earlier years she was employed by Troy Craft and in 1958 she and Bud acquired their first dairy farm. In 1977, they purchased the former Barnhart farm in West Franklin, whichtheir sons now proudly own. Linda would see to the daily operations of the dairy as well as helped out at nearly every auction at the Wyalusing, Athens and Troy Sale Barns with Bud. Despite her busy schedule shealways found time to take care of her home and most importantly her family. Most recently you could find Linda at work alongsideof her family at the Pepper's Auction Barn, that is owned by her oldestson. It was a job she truly enjoyed.She never complained and always said with a smile “ya do what you gotta do!” Linda was a devoted and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Because of her caring ways, she was lovingly referred to as mom by many. Linda was an exceptional cook and loved to bake. She was especially known for her famous Potato Salad and making cakes for others. Because of her hospitality she never knew if she would be cooking for two or two hundred. Gladly inviting anyone who stopped by to stay for breakfast, lunch and/or supper. You were guaranteed to never leave Linda’s house with an empty stomach. She truly embraced the love of her family, and their well-being was always her number one priority. Surviving Linda are her children; Ed (Pam) Pepper of Leroy, Tim (Carolyn) Pepper of West Franklin and Cory Pepper of Leroy, grandchildren; Dani (Brad) Hugo, Desi (Kirk) Space, Adam (Devon) Pepper, Heather Pepper, Heidi (Zack) Grace, Dylan, Nick (Makenna) Pepper, Wes, Colt and Ace Pepper, great-grandchildren; Stormy (Cody) Wolfe, Kody Powell, Cyra Hugo, Brendyn (Tish), Brody and Bryelle Space, Bridger and Paisley Pepper,Kix Carr,Ashlyn Grace,Kyle Powell and Dawson Hugo, great-great grandchildren; Scarlett Wolfe, along with many "bonus sons" Linda helped care for, Chris Radney was very near and dear to her heart,special friends; Ralph and Myra McNeal of Towanda, twosisters; Audrey (Charles) Brackman of Blandon, PA,Norma Nichols of East Smithfield,sisters-in-law; Betty (Con) Benninger of Troy and Viola Metzger of North Union, brothers-in-law; Brad (Faye) Pepper of Granville Summit and Rev. Alice was a graduate of Canton High School and a member of the Canton Moose Lodge 429. She married the late Robert Saar Jr. and together they shared over 25 years until his passing in2008. She was employed by Futures in Towanda as a caregiver for several years until her failing health no longer permitted her to work. Alice loved playing games, especially Bingo and the card game Rummy 500. She enjoyed crocheting, dancing and tending to her house plants and flowers. She was a very giving person who would never hesitate to help anyone in a time of need. Surviving Alice isher daughter; Rose (Lewis) Frederick of Canton, a granddaughter; Kailey Frederick, brother; Dennis (Kathy) Austin of Ralston, special nephew; Donald Sechrist and his children, dear friends"the three musketeers"; niece-Brenda Sechrist, Glenda Fuller and Lisa Brown,feline companion, Sweety Pie, as well as several other nieces, nephews, cousins andfriends. Obituary Preview: Joseph E. Spencer, 83, of Roaring Branch (Union Township, PA) passed away peacefully on the morning of March 8, 2022, at home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 13, 1938, in Canton, Pennsylvania to late Walter and E. Geraldine Spencer.
Joe grew up in Canton and graduated from Canton Area High School in 1957. He served in the US Army from 1958-1960.  In earlier years he was employed for Masonite in Towanda and The Canton Independent Sentinel. He attended Williamsport Area Community College, earning an Associate Degree in Biomedical Technology in 1975. Joe worked as a biomedical technician for Divine Providence Hospital for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a transporter for Western Alliance. He volunteered for the Area Agency on Aging, delivering for Meals on Wheels for approximately ten years.
On January 9, 1965, Joe married the former June Brenchley in Canton. Together they raised three children. They enjoyed traveling, and spending time with family.
Joe is survived by his wife June, of Canton; his son Andy Spencer (Sherry) of Canton; daughter Laurel Spencer (Anthonette), of Blossburg; and Angela Mosser (John), of Canton; his brother Stephen Spencer (Glenda), of Canton; and Robert Spencer (Bettie), Winston Salem, NC; his grandchildren Nicole Ragab (Ramy), of Reading; Natalie Siedhof (Jennifer), of Syracuse, NY; Joslyn Spencer (Jeremiah), of Forty Fort; and Jenna Spencer (Riley), of Mansfield; as well as many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Geraldine Spencer, brothers William and Thomas, sister-in-law Bonita Spencer, niece Kathleen Spencer, and nephew William Lamont "Monty" Spencer.

Obituary Preview: Heaven gained another angel, Douglas C. Young, 63, of Burlington, Pennsylvania went to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, March 4, 2022, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre following an extended illness.  Douglas Charles was born in Troy on November 11, 1958; he was one of three children of the late Charles D. and Shirley (Garrison) Young.
Doug grew up in the East Smithfield area and graduated in 1977 from the former SRU High School. He was a dependable hard-working man that was a great mentor to many young people. Doug would help anyone in need and would gladly, “give the shirt off his back,” as the saying goes. On June 17, 1984, he married the former JaNell Schill of Burlington. Together they raised three children and shared 37 loving years together. He was a member of the East Smithfield Fire Company as well as an EMT until he transferred to the Troy Fire Company following marriage. Doug was an active lifetime member of the Troy Fire Department and the Troy Fire Police Association, where he served as a former Captain. He remained a proud supporter of both, though declining health hindered his activity in most recent years.
Doug held many jobs over the years from; making pizzas, farming, mechanic but most of his life he was a truck driver. He loved trucking especially when family was riding along. Doug drove for nearly 30 years with Pelton’s, Bennett’s and Meshoppan Stone. Throughout the years, he enjoyed visiting and meeting new people. Doug made friends easily and acquired many over the years.  He was a prankster and loved joking around with a keen sense of humor that would often make people laugh. Doug was the most honest, straightforward man you would ever meet, but at the same time was also a big teddy bear with a sensitive heart as well.
Family was Doug’s life, and he was a devoted husband, father and Grandpa. Grandchildren were his everything and he held a different bond with each of them.
Surviving is his wife, Nell at home, three children, Adam Douglas Young of Wetona, Cody Mikel’ (Carrie) Young of Elmira NY, Rayme Ellen Young (Brady Prouty) both of Burlington, five grandchildren, Malcolm “Bugs”, Mikel’ “Mikey”, Johnathon “John-John”, Destiny “Des”, Lucas “Lukie”, a sister, Bonnie Avery, his mother-in-law, Karen Schill, three sisters-in-law, Joetta Aten, Stephanie Schill, Anna Morgan-Schill, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, Donnie “Dipper” Martin, Clair Gunning, his fur buddies, Cooper and Brewster.
Besides his parents, Douglas was predeceased by his brother, Dale Young, his father-in-law, Ernest Schill Sr., two brothers-in-law, Jack Avery, Ernest “Punter” Schill Jr. and a nephew, Christian Morgan.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Doug’s life will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Troy Fireman’s Hall, 88 Firehouse Dr. Troy, PA 16947.  A time of fellowship and a luncheon will immediately follow at the hall at 1 p.m. A private burial will be held in the Wetona Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

P. Philip Taylor, Jr. - September 01, 1945 - March 04, 2022

Obituary Preview: P. Philip Taylor, Jr. 76, of Troy, Pennsylvania went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday afternoon, March 4, 2022, at his home with loved ones by his side. Pusey Philip Jr. was born September 1, 1945, in West Chester, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Edna (Karr) and Pusey P. Taylor Sr. He attended Troy area schools and was a graduate of the class of 1963. On November 6, 1965, Philip married his soulmate, the former Julia “Judy” Cease, in Grover. Together they shared 56 years of loving marriage and raised two children. Following marriage, the newlywed's moved to Honey Brook and later West Chester Pennsylvania for employment until moving back to Bradford County to assist on his parent's dairy farm near Mount Pisgah. Phil then accepted employment at DuPont in Towanda for nearly 20 years and it was at that time God showed Philip his true calling. In 1988 Phil and Judy acquired the Troy Second Hand Store and saw to its daily operations for over 32 years until Philip's declining health no longer permitted him to continue.
Philip and Judy loved auctions, especially in Lancaster County. He and Judy made yearly trips to Florida and loved traveling throughout the United States. Philip was a man of faith. He knew Jesus lives and who ever believes in the Lord will be resurrected to everlasting life. Philip was a devoted member of Troy's Victory Church where he proudly served as a greeter and usher.
Surviving is his wife; Judy Kay Taylor, children; Alan (Janine) Taylor and Carla Forsyth, four grandchildren; Sarah Taylor, Esther (Logan) Wise, Peyton Taylor and Jonathan Forsyth, a great grandson, Gabe Wise, two brothers, Dave Taylor, George (Connie) Taylor as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Philip was predeceased by his parents; Pusey Sr. and Edna (Karr) Taylor.
Philip's family invites friends to attend a celebration of his life service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Victory Church, 645 E. Main Street in Troy, Pa. 16947 with its Pastor Josh Payne serving as Celebrant. There will be no calling hours. A private burial will be held in the Glenwood Cemetery in Troy at the convenience of the family. (Warner) Roy, 52, of Canton, formerly of Bradford Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Robert Packer Hospital with her loving family by her side. Ann Louise was born in Bradford on September 5, 1969; one of two daughters to the late Lawrence and Nancy (Peterson) Warner. She attended Bradford Central Christian School and was a graduate of the class of 1987.  Ann was a member of the Canton Moose Lodge 429.  She was employed in earlier years for several car dealerships in upstate New York as their office manager. Most recently, Ann accepted a position as a commercial underwriter for Travelers Insurance in Elmira, N.Y.
She was an avid Harry Potter enthusiast and was able to quote the movies word for word. She enjoyed reading and coloring. Ann’s love for animals was immense, especially horses and her pet cats & dogs. Her world revolved around family, most of all her grandkids who lovingly called her “GiGi.” She was a very accepting and understanding individual. Because of her caring ways most children and teens alike referred to Ann as their second mother.
Surviving Ann is her daughter; Alexa Roy (Krista Harold) of Canton, sister; Michelle Warner (Don Hewlitt) of Huntsville, Alabama, aunt, Lois (Jim) Barnhart of Mount Jewett, PA., life partner; Roger Wilcox of Canton, grandkids; Bailey, Dilon and Lexi as well as many cousins and dear friends.

Lois J. Oliver - October 13, 1942 - February 25, 2022

Obituary Preview: Lois J. Oliver, 79, of Williamsport, formerly of Ralston, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 25, 2022, at home with family by her side. Lois Jane was born October 13, 1942, in Mansfield, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Beatrice (Elliott) Patterson.
Lois was an alumnus of Mansfield High School and soon after graduation married the love of her life Jesse J. Oliver. Together they shared nearly 62 years of devoted marriage and raised four sons.
Mrs. Oliver was employed as a Real Estate Agent for various realty companies throughout the area, most recently being Barger Realty in Williamsport. For over 30 years, Lois built a bedrock of friends in the real estate industry until the past few years when failing health no longer permitted her to continue working.
In earlier years, Lois was an active member of Ralston’s Open-Door Chapel and after moving to Williamsport joined the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed singing and was part of the music ministry’s “Praise Team”.
Lois life encompassed her home, family and church.  She cared for not only her own family but extended family and friends as well. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially the many trips to see the Elk in Benezette, PA. Mrs. Oliver was proud to have been a published author of The Winters of Williamsport, recently released by Fulton Books.
In addition to her beloved husband Jesse, Lois is survived by her three sons, Don, Brad and Tim Oliver, siblings, June Wilbur, Larry (Bonnie) Patterson, sister-in-law, Karen Fox-Patterson, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a son, Gregory Oliver on Feb. 20, 2022, and a brother, Ed Patterson. A memorial service to honor both Lois and her late son Greg’s lives will be 6 p.m. Friday March 4, 2002, at the Assembly of God Church, 1230 Sherman St. Williamsport, PA 17701. Greg had a passion for local history. He had a very curious mind and loved to solve problems. Greg was a connoisseur of local music and musicians, making many friends in the industry. He was a very strong advocate for those he called his friends.

Obituary Preview: Timmy D. Avants Sr., 60, of Canton, passed away unexpectedly following a period of declining health at his residence on Friday evening, February 18, 2022. Timmy Dean was born in Troy on January 5, 1962, a son to the late James and Beatrice (Woodward) Avants. In earlier years, Timmy grew up in the Canton area and also attended school there with the class of 1980. He can be remembered for riding his 1970’s banana bike and the many bike tricks he could accomplish. Following school, he was employed by Oak Hill Veneer in Troy and later the Masonite Corporation in Wysox until 1993 when his failing health no longer permitted him to continue working.
Timmy was a talented musician.  He could sing vocals as well as possessing the gifted ability to play any instrument he put his mind to. He was a member of several local rock bands including, Smack Bottom, Emptee Pockets and Steel Sun.
Tim also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid trapper, hunter and fisherman.
Most dear was the love Timmy shared with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He leaves behind; two children, Timmy Jr. (and Jenn) Avants, Ashley (and Ty) Holmes all of Troy, five grandchildren; Natalie (and Michael) King, Brenna Fourney, L.J. Avants, Archer Avants and Wesson Holmes all of Troy, three siblings, Glenda Fuller (his sister and loving caregiver) of Canton, Jim (and Connie) Avants of Columbia Cross Rds. and June (and Paul) Jackson of Troy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Obituary Preview: Lonn D. Ensinger, 74, of Shunk, formerly of Denver, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, February 9, 2022. Lonn David was born January 5, 1948, in Denver, PA to the late Chester and Marion (Sweigart) Ensinger.  He was raised in Denver and attended school there. Later, he proudly served our country during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1969.
Lonn was employed as a laborer in the family construction business for many years until retiring.   He was an avid fisherman, once upon a time a league pool player, a plasterer, one heck of a good cook, and a veteran who served in the U.S. Army in Czechoslovakia. He loved spending time at his cabin in Northern PA and sleeping. He was a Past President of the Northern Lancaster County Game & Fish and a former Trustee at the Reinholds V.F.W. Post 6759.
Lonn was preceded in death by a brother, Brian Ensinger, and a great-nephew. He is survived by his brother, Timothy Ensinger, (husband of Vicki), three nieces, three great-nephews, a great-niece, and many friends who will carry on his legend.

Obituary Preview: Marilyn J. (Fleming) Bruhl, 83, of Troy, formerly of Selinsgrove, passed away, unexpectedly on Monday, February 7, 2022, at her residence. Marilyn Joyce was born March 19, 1938, in Granville Township; one of five children of the late P.F. and Helen (Packard) Fleming Brown. She attended Troy Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1956. Marilyn was a member of the Windfall United Methodist Church and volunteered her time at the church's luncheons as well as the Troy Heritage Museum.
Marilyn was an avid bowler.  Her talents and skills awarded her with a spot in the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame. Playing cards was another favorite past time for Marilyn, who often would jokingly say, “I should of bet more.” She loved to fish and enjoyed all the beauty that nature had to offer. Photographing the wildlife and country sceneries was also special to her. Marilyn's beautiful photography earned her acknowledgement as some pictures were published in a calendar. Marilyn loved to bake and was often referred to as the “cookie lady.”  She was a very social lady who made friends easily. Her kind, caring and loving demeanor will be remembered by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. Most important to Marilyn was her family, who she loved endlessly and whole heartedly.

(Morse) Wright, 97, of Canton, passed away Friday morning, February 4, 2022, at the Towanda Personal Care Home with loving family by her side.  Marjorie Doris was born at her family's home in West LeRoy, November 27, 1924, the last surviving child to the late Burr and Minnie (Shedden) Morse. She attended Canton Area Schools and on August 1, 1942, Marjorie married her sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Wright in East Canton United Methodist Church. Shortly following their marriage, the newlyweds acquired a dairy farm in Canton township. Being no strangers to hard work, Bob and Marjorie seen to the daily operations of their dairy farm and bestowed upon their three children the same work ethic. They were blessed with 59 years of marriage prior to Bob’s passing on November 20, 2001.  In earlier years, in addition to her home and farm work, Marge was also employed by the former Canton Manufacturing.  Mrs. Wright was a member of the North Street Community Church and a former long-time member of the East Canton United Methodist Church.
Marjorie enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing. She loved to watch her grandchildren during their sporting events and would never say no to “babysitting” something she enjoyed whenever Gramma had the chance. Despite her hectic schedule she always managed to still take care of her home and family, as it was always first priority, as it should be.

Nelson E. Wolfe - December 06, 1944 - February 04, 2022

Obituary Preview: Nelson E. Wolfe, 77, of Ulster, Pennsylvania, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 4, 2022. Nelson Elwood was born in Troy on December 6, 1944, the last of four boys to the late Howard and Alwilda (Boyce) Wolfe. No stranger to hard work. Nelson was employed by the former Masonite in Wysox as a "Mill Right" maintenance mechanic for over 45 years until his retirement is 2017. Most recently, Nelson co-owned and operated Wolfe’s garage in Burlington along with his late brother, Gary Wolfe. On February 19, 1965, Nelson married the former Susan E. Brown at her parent’s home located in Alba.  Together they raised two son’s and shared nearly 55 years of loving marriage.
Nelson loved to travel with his wife and family. He was proud to have visited every state in the U.S. with the exception of Hawaii.  Nelson also traveled throughout Canada and very much enjoyed the numerous family vacations at 14 Island Lake in Ontario.
Family was very important to Nelson. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather. His grandchildren affectionately referred to him as “gram pa.” Nelson was an extremely hard worker and an exceptionally talented mechanic. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing in Canada.

Lois was born in Blossburg on September 29, 1941, a daughter to the late Ted and Edna (Miller) Ragan. She attended Canton Area Schools and was a graduate of the class of 1959. On November 27, 1959, she married her soulmate, Paul Harold in Grover. Together they raised four children and shared nearly 40 years of loving marriage until Paul’s passing on September 24, 1999. Lois was employed by Wundies Undies in her earlier years and then at North Penn Health Center until her retirement in 2011. She was a woman of faith in the Lord and was a member of the Ogdensburg Church of Christ. She also belonged to; the Ogdensburg quilting group, a former secretary for the Ogdensburg Cemetery and was in charge of the class of 1959 monthly high school lunch
Lois loved nature and all of its natural beauty. She enjoyed gardening, always preserving her garden's bounty by canning and freezing.  She loved watching wildlife especially the birds and deer.  Lois was an avid reader and could often be found working on a puzzle or quilt.  Lois looked forward to the yearly family Canada vacations, especially fishing with her husband Paul. She valued time with her church family and friends but what Lois treasured most was her family. Lois truly adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On November 16, 1967, Helen married her soulmate Charles Binford in Swainsboro, Georgia. Together they shared 54 years of marriage and lovingly raised three children. Helen was a soft spoken and very kind individual. She enjoyed traveling to Georgia to visit family and on her way stopping in Myrtle Beach to vacation with family. She was an enthusiastic Troy Trojan sports fan, always there to support and cheer on her children and grandchildren. Most important to Helen was her family, especially the love Helen and Charlie shared was true and devoted. She was a member of the Victory Church in Troy. She was a strong Christian woman who believed in Jesus and was saved by Grace
