Jonathan Bray MacLean - September 15, 1971 - September 29, 2023

Departed: 09/29/2023 (Sanford)
Obituary Preview: Jonathan Bray MacLean September 15,1971 ~ September 29, 2023 (age 52)
It is with great sadness that we share that on September 29, 2023, Jonathan "Big Jon" Bray MacLean passed away peacefully at his home in Sanford, FL. Jon was born September 15, 1971 in Gloucester, MA to the late Martha Bray MacLean and Daniel S MacLean Jr. Growing up in Reading, MA, many of Jon’s closest relationships were lifelong friendships he made while attending Reading High School, or running the neighborhood streets that his own dad had grown up on. “Big Stan” MacLean instilled in his son’s from a young age that you took care of people, including your neighbors, so between his paper routes, snow-shoveling services, or through countless trips with his “old man” to visit family (biological or chosen) Jon knew so many of the resident’s of reading, and held the torch as our family historian. He knew all the stories of our ancestors, and was extremely proud of our families legacies. Loyalty was the cornerstone of Jon’s character, and he steadfastly stood by his friends through all seasons of life. We’re sure that’s why Jon had such an extensive “Chosen family.” To know Jon was to love him, because although he was 6’11” with long hair, a signature leather trench coat, a loud motorcycle and even louder voice, and was always quick with a (likely inappropriate) joke, he also had a heart of gold. Jon’s loyalty was not limited to words, but manifested in countless acts of service, support, and a deep sense of trust. Jon was someone you could always count on,whether you needed a laugh, a jump-start, help moving, or just a good meal and a good time. Jon’s  positivity was contagious, and he always has a story to tell, just as most that knew him have their own “Big Jon” story to tell. From a young age, he recognized the value of hard work as a path to success and never wavered from this principle. Jon had many jobs throughout his life, and was a dedicated employee always looking to grow. He loved the freedom of the road, and loved the many relationships and friendships he built through chauffeuring and driving all sorts of vehicles. He was always proud when someone would comment on how he could park any vehicle anywhere. Over time, Jon was also very proud to have worked his way up into the Elevator Union with Otis elevators. Jon had a great love for life and always had a smile as big as he was, no matter the day or situation. Jon had a passion for music, and listened to everything from bluegrass to heavy metal. His CD books from the 90’s weighed more than his size 17 leather biker boots, and you never knew if you’d get in one of his classic Cadillacs aka “hoomptys”  and hear Willie Nelson or Metallica. Jon was a lover of  road trips, Bike Weeks, concerts and parties. Jon was an excellent cook, and lived for a good meal. If you followed him on facebook, you could count on him to share his latest dish. He was already ready to bring some marinated steaks and handle the grill at any family event, and was the true definition of a “funcle”, always bringing too much candy and being the biggest of the kids, while making everyone laugh. Jon loved spending his time with family and friends, but undoubtedly, Jon’s biggest passion was for riding motorcycles. From a young age, you could often find him fixing or working on his card or bikes. He was proud of many of the skills he learned, and was always talking bikes or cars with the guys.  Jon was a sight to see riding up 93 in full leather on his custom “White Trash Express,”  ponytail flying in the wind, tune’s crankin’. That’s how we remember Jon best, and we hope it’s how you will too. The thing about people who are larger than life, is that they leave a huge impact on all those around them when they go. Jon will be terribly missed by his surviving siblings, Cindy MacLean, Irene Jellison, Paul MacLean, Daniel G MacLean and his wife Katie, Jen-Ai MacLean and her husband Chris,  Jennifer Jellison and her fiance’ Ryan, his abundance of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and his huge extended family he built throughout his life. The PCM Team of People's Choice Mortuary & Cremation Service, LLC extends our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of
Mr. MacLean. Online condolences, photos and memories may be shared with The MacLean Family @ www.PeoplesChoiceMortuary.Com "Obituary and Final Arrangements Forthcoming"

Kyle Gerrard Green - July 28, 1991 - September 26, 2023

Departed: 09/26/2023 (Sanford)
Obituary Preview: Kyle Gerrard Green July 28,1991 ~ September 26, 2023 (age 32)
Kyle Gerrard Green 32 of Daytona Beach, Florida transitioned on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Portsmouth, VA. Kyle Gerrard Green, whom we knew and loved as "Evangelist Kyle Green" was born July 28, 1991, in Daytona Beach, FL to Constance Green and Ricky Cullers. In his early years he attended school in the Volusia County School system until he relocated to South Florida to the Broward County School system. It was evident to everyone who knew Elder Kyle Green that he was destined to preach the Word of God from a very early age. Having been anointed within minutes of his life after a traumatic birth by his grandmother Evangelist Elmar Green (who preceded him in death), she reared him in the things of God. He grew up in Madison Heights COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Max Hawkins and accepted the call of God on his life at the age of 6. Pastor Hawkins laid hands on him and ordained him "Kyle the Evangelist", and he has been preaching ever since. Elder Green graduated Everglades High School in 2010, where he was Captain of the Debate Team. This skill allowed him the opportunity to debate at Harvard University; something he looked forward to every year. After high school, Elder Green attended Morgan State University in Baltimore Maryland. He later matriculated to Capella University majoring in Business Administration. In 2018, Elder Green married the love of his life and beautiful wife of 6 years, Lady Robin Green. From their union were born two wonderful children, Royel and Krown Green. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He marvelled at watching his children follow in his footsteps. They would stand in front of the television watching church services and mimicking preaching and praising God with a dance. This gave him so much joy to see his kids being church babies as he was. Elder Green was always devoted to serving in ministry. As a young pre-teen, Elder Green was a youth ministry worker at New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral of Faith International in Miami FL., under the leadership of his pastor and godfather, Bishop Victor T. Curry. Bishop Curry affectionately referred to Kyle as “His David”. At age 12, Bishop Curry licensed him to Preach the gospel, making him the youngest minister ever licensed at New Birth. In his “There’s a rainbow to every storm.” Daniel Jones affectionately referred to Kyle as “His David”. At age 12, Bishop Curry licensed him to Preach the gospel, making him the youngest minister ever licensed at New Birth. In his adult years, God blessed Elder Green to grace the pulpit and serve in some of the most prominent churches; New Birth Baptist Church Cathedral of Faith International in Miami FL, Emmanuel Apostolic Church, Miramar FL, and most recently at Zion Community Church in Portsmouth, Virginia where he was ordained an Elder and Pastor in the Church Of God In Christ. Throughout his ministerial career, he served in many capacities i.e., Youth President, Youth Pastor, National Adjutant, and Site Pastor. Elder Green always knew that his five-fold ascension gift was that of an Evangelist. This was his passion fire and zeal. Through his ministry, God allowed many souls to be saved, healed, delivered, and set free. He taught the word of God to whomever, wherever, with power and authority, winning souls for the Kingdom of God. On September 26, 2023, Elder Kyle Green entered into his eternal rest. Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It's usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and acquaintances of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing essential information to those who need to know about the funeral arrangements, memorial services, and other details. They also provide a sense of closure and allow people to pay their respects to the deceased.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, the family members or close friends of the deceased write the obituary. In some cases, a funeral home or obituary writer may assist with writing the obituary. The writer should be someone who knew the deceased well and can provide accurate and meaningful information about their life.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the deceased's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service (if applicable), hobbies, interests, surviving family members, and funeral or memorial service details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or online platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from 100 to 500 words. Longer obituaries may be more suitable for online platforms or memorial websites.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a great way to personalize the tribute and help people remember the deceased.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?
