Nancy worked as a substitute teacher for many years touching the lives of many students that went through the Lee County School system. Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Dale Pauley; parents, Allen and Ellena Cowan.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marie Sloce and husband Mark, Michelle Taylor, and Ashlee Middleton and husband Steve; son, Jack Pauley and wife Ronda; grandchildren, Xavier Middleton, Bradlee Taylor, Selena Edwards, Chantel Bundy and husband Zach, Jacob Pauley and wife Kilie, Elijah Pauley and wife Telisha, Anna Dowell and husband Clay, Gabriel Pauley, and Fate Pauley; great grandchildren, Mason Taylor, Jace Edwards, Reese Pauley, Charlotte Pauley, Arthur Pauley, and Addi Dowell; brother, Jess Baker; sister, Stella Taylor; along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Paul Davis Jr officiating.
A committal service will be follow at Ewing-McClure-Chambers cemetery with Pastor Paul Davis Jr officiating. Jack Pauley, Bradlee Taylor, Steve Middleton, Mark Sloce, Jacob Pauley, Elijah Pauley, and Zach Bundy will serve as pallbearers.

Carolyn was born on May 10, 1956 in Pennington Gap, Virginia to the late Burley Blondell and Mary Snowden. She was a resident of Lee County and she spent her time taking care and cleaning offices. She loved her family and spending time with them.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Martha Kegley and 2 brothers, Everett & Sidney Blondell.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Timothy Joe Lehr II and (Squenchie) Lee Kegley and his wife Kathie; daughter, Martha (Shawyna) Cooper and her husband Tommy; brothers, Jimmie Blondell and his wife Teresa, Terry Blondell and his wife Dana; sisters, Patricia Carpenter and her husband Coy, Barbara Thorpe and her husband James, grandchildren, Blade, Chase, and Cheyenne; great grandchildren, Jackson and Gus; along with many nieces and nephews.

Obituary Preview: Doris J Robinette, 90 of Kettering, OH, passed away at home on Friday, May 10, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Robinette, in June of 2009. She was also preceded in death by brothers Leonard and Bobby, and sister, Betty, as well as her parents, Clyde and Corabelle Hall.
She is survived by two children: Roger (Gail) Robinette of IL and Rhonda G. Erbes (Mark Fumia) of Kettering. Three grandchildren survive her: Brittany (Andrew) Leiter, Jordan (Elizabeth) Erbes and Alyssa (Matthew) Shideler. Three great grandchildren also survive her: Sara, Mark, and David, as do three sisters: Zoleen, Nell, and Mildred as well as a host of nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A visitation will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel (In Dayton, Ohio) on Wednesday, May 15 from 5 until 7 PM with a funeral service to be held at 7 PM.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, May 17, 2024 at Pennington Gap Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow.
A committal service will follow at Glass Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Ruby Cox age 94 peacefully departed this life at her home on May 2, 2024 following a brief illness. Ruby was born in Stickleyville Virginia to the late Arthur and Ovie Sage. She was a woman of extraordinary faith, a friend, a prayer warrior, an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, living her life for her Lord, her family, and for others. She regularly attended Wallens Creek Covenant Church and also evening services at Pennington Gap First Baptist Church.
Ruby worked at Eastman Kodak, Lee County School System, and Ramada Inn Hotels from which she retired. She always said that her number one job was raising her four boys.
She leaves behind her sons, Greg Cox (Debbie) of Church Hill, TN, Jerry Cox of Stickleyville, VA, Terry Cox of Johnson City, TN. Special Grandchildren Christa Baker (Tim), Josh Cox (Rachel). Special Great-Grandchildren Aubrie and Chandler Baker, Avery Cox, several nieces and nephews.
Several loved ones are waiting to welcome her home including parents Arthur and Ovie Sage, sisters Wilma James, Margaret Sage, brother Robert Sage, son Mickey Cox, infant daughter Pamela Evonne Cox.
Being a Godly woman, Ruby loved going to church, loved the Bible and loved to sing. For many years Ruby, her father and her two sisters would sing at various churches and funerals. Ruby loved helping others and along with her sister Margaret volunteered for many years at Ridgecrest Nursing home in Duffield, VA. She was always ready to help and volunteer in the community, loved writing poetry, and gardening. She excelled in basketball during her high school years at Pennington High School.
She leaves a legacy of love and faithfulness first to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and also to her family. Although her earthly journey is complete her faith and kindness will continue to inspire and encourage others to live a Godly life.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 1PM in the Chapel of Pennington Gap Funeral Home with Pastor Josh Osteen officiating. The family will welcome friends and family preceding the services from 11 am until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Lee Memorial Gardens, friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

Mark was born on April 24, 1995 in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was a 2013 graduate of Lee High School. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family. He enjoyed participating in the Civil War reenactments, Boy Scouts, little league baseball, and other community events. Mark was a light and an inspiration to many. He and his family helped lead the cause to allow handicapped individuals to play T-Ball in Lee County. Mark was a loving son, cousin, nephew, and friend to so many.
Mark is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joyce Ann Hopkins and Noah Burgan; paternal grandparents, Edith June Hartsock and Nathan Hartsock, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Mark Hartsock Sr. and Dana Burgan Hartsock; special friend, Ben Saddler; along with several Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and MANY MANY Friends.
Mark was truly loved by all of his family.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

She was born April 3, 1936 a daughter of the late John Wesley and Maggie Begley Lane. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents: Bill and Ida Brown Richards, Husband: Ray Sarver. Her only child, her loving daughter: Elaine Carmony and a beautiful great granddaughter: Miranda Warf. Brothers: Kenneth Begley, Junior Earl Lane, Howard Freeman and Billy Richards. Infant Sister: Barbara Allen Lane.
Patsy was a member of Pennington Gap First United Methodist Church, and had earned a Bachelors Degree in education, having taught several years in the Lee County Schools at Pennington Elementary and then Pennington Middle as a substitute.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Bill Carmony (Carla), Shelley Warf (Jeff), Bruce Carmony (Loraine), Rhonda Scott (Oscar), Mike Carmony (Ashley) and Marley Wilson (Josh). 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
1 brother: Cecil Boyd Lane, special neighbor and friend: Goldie Greene. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday afternoon, April 23, 2024 at 4 pm in the chapel of the Pennington Gap Funeral Home with Pastor Rex Harber officiating. The burial will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery, 5498 Sugar Run Road, Jonesville VA. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The family will welcome friends Tuesday preceding the services from 2 PM until 4 PM at the funeral home. Ruth has joined her husband of 56 years, Earl Lee Gibson. She was born June 27, 1937 a daughter of the late Ira and Mattie Bays Pleasant. Also preceding her death, Sisters: Jeanie Daughtery and husband Gene, Charlene Gettings and husband Joe, brother in law: Earl Mullins.
Ruth served 20 years in the foster Grandparent program and loved all the children she came in contact with. She was granted many honors and plaques for her work. Ruth attended her beloved church, Harbors Pentecostal Holiness with her brothers and sisters in Christ.
She is survived by her Children: Theresa Morefield (John), Rick Gibson (Vicky) and Vickie Lawson (Dave). Grandchildren: Tonya, George, Kevin, Chris, Dustin, Tiffany, Clint and Bre. Great Grandchildren: Courtnie, Dawson, Seria, Nathan, Isabella, Lance, Hunter, Noah, Logan, Landon, Bentley, Hannah and Ellis. Great-great grandchild: Aidan. A special child in Ruth's life: Tanner Bishop.
1 sister: Bea Mullins. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday evening, April 22, 2024 at 7 PM in the chapel of the Pennington Gap Funeral Home with Pastors Richard Stewart and Matthew Thompson officiating. Music will be provided Jamie Maness. Committal services will be Tuesday afternoon at 1PM in the Powell Valley Cemetery, Dryden, VA. It is requested that family and friends meet at the funeral home by 12:20 PM to go in procession to the graveside. Pallbearers will be Rick, Dustin, George, Kevin and Tanner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James M.R. Collins; father, Robert Ayers; mother, Elizabeth Perkins; stepmother, Virginia "Virgie" Marie Ayers; daughter, Elizabeth "Libbie" Allen; son, James "Jimmy" Collins; and sisters, Shirley, Sheila, Ann, Lois, and Thelma.
Roberta is survived by her sons, Brian Scott Collins of Pennington Gap, Virginia and David Collins and wife, Tammy, of Wyck, South Carolina; daughter, Cyndy Jennings of Weber City, Virginia; grandchildren, Jason Allen, Stephen Collins, and Amelia Jennings; great-granddaughter, Shea Nicole; sister, Patty Herron of Abingdon, Virginia; brother, Hobert C. Ayers of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister in-law, Janice Darlene Arrington of Greeneville, Tennessee; special friend, Deb; niece, LeAnn Nicole Martin; along with several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Shelburne and Joe of Pennington Gap, VA and Christy Dudley and Mike of Palmyra, VA. She will be greatly missed by her four grandchildren, Zach Shelburne, Kaylee Glascoe, Mason and Ethan Grizzle.
A special mention to her nurse, Bridgett Dorton, who Betty loved and cherished. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 1 PM at the First Christian Church Pennington Gap, 41481 W. Morgan Avenue with Pastor Bob Richards officiating. The family will welcome friends beginning at 12 noon preceding the services. Graveside committal services will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens . Friends and family will serve as pallbearers

He moved to LaSalle County, IL in 1953 and married the late Donna Carlson Bailey in January of 1960. Huston farmed for several years and owned his own business "Bailey Barge Maintenance and Repair" He retired in 1991 and moved to be closer to his brothers and sisters.
Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a son: Shane Warren Bailey, brother: Claude Bailey, Sister: Dinah Bailey and son in law: Steven Johnson. He is survived by Daughters: Debbie (Steve) Moore, Beth (Curtis) Kueteman, Laurie Johnson and Shelley (Darin) Naggs Son: Huston (Sarah) Bailey, Jr Sister: Sylvia (Fred) Jackson Brothers: Melvin, Claude and Ronnie Bailey
Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews along with a whole community of friends also survive.
