Sharon Brown-Bennett - July 01, 1956 - December 13, 2023

Departed: 12/13/2023 (Philadelphia)
Obituary Preview: Sharon Brown-Bennett was born July 1, 1056 and entered the Heavenly arms of the Father on December 13, 2023. The third child of Virdie and Leerie Brown, Sharon was life long resident of Philadelphia. She was educated in the Philadelphia School System and graduated from West Philadelphia High School. Fiercely independent and determined to make her own way, Sharon studied pharmaceutical medicine and spent her entire professional career as a Pharmacy Technician with Tesman Pharmacy in west Philadelphia. Through her knowledge of the industry and engaging personality, Sharon was jokingly referred to as, “Dr. Sharon”.
A lover of life and family but, above all of those, she was passionate about her Lord and Savior. She committed her life to Jesus Christ at a young age and continued to cultivate her relationship with Christ throughout her life. If you ever sat beside her in church service, you always had to be prepared for a, “Praise Break”, at any moment; she would let it be known that, “there are no rocks crying out for me!” Sharon was a dedicated member of Wynnefield Baptist Church and, later, a founding member of the Revelation Baptist Church later know as Revelation Center. Sharon was an active Missionary and truly lived out the scripture Matthew 25: 31-40. Giving and serving and serving was not only what she did, it was, truly, who she was. Sharon become a licensed Minister of the gospel in 2007 and remained active in the body of Christ until her health began to fail her. Even in sickness, she would never hesitate to share with someone about the goodness of God. Her faith was something to marvel at. Known by family, friends and doctors as a “living miracle”, she fought and beat the odds many times. She remained an avid reality show junkie, often spending her days with the Home & Garden Channel and the Food Network.
Sharon’s greatest joy, without hesitation, was enjoying time as a mother and grandmother. She would often marvel and say, “Can you believe I have eight grandchildren?” She was joined into holy matrimony to her husband Gregory on December 1, 2001 and he remained by her side to the very end.
She is preceded in death by her parents Virdie and Leerie and siblings Elaine, Larry, Sr. and Debbie. She leaves to mourn her memory son Durand (Christine), daurghters Shaakira and Victoria “Mani”; grandchildrean Nasiyah, Maria, Malaya, Niyana, Dominique, Kai’lee, Peyton & Demi; sister Diane(Roland), her “sister niece” Talea (Ronald); very special sister friend Rose; God Daughters Shontel & Angel; aunt Pauline; uncles Hysheim (Edith), Linwood, Lottie, Vernon, Thurmon; a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and a loving Husband Gregory.
