Lawrence Goldberg Baptiste - September 17, 1956 - March 28, 2024

Departed: 03/28/2024 (Jamaica)
Obituary Preview: The Life Story of LAWRENCE GOLDBERG BAPTISTE
Our Brother Lawrence Goldberg Baptiste was born on September 17, 1956. In Brooklyn New York Born to George G Goldberg and Enna Jean-Baptiste.
Lawrence was a lighthearted Brother– always with a joke at the ready, a grin that could light up a room, and a handshake firm enough to make you feel welcomed. His journey began in Flatbush, Brooklyn, where he proudly donned his first uniform, that of the Boys Scouts. After graduating from Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, he answered the call to serve his country, and put on another uniform that of the US Army and earning an Honorable discharge. From there, he ventured into the job force, finding his niche in security – first, keeping watch over the young souls in a boys' detention center, then transitioning into private security.
One of Lawrence's most remarkable qualities was his deep love and empathy for our four-legged companions. Whether it was a playful pup or a cuddly feline, Lawrence's heart was always touched by their presence. He dedicated himself to the cause of rescuing lost and stray animals, becoming an active member of numerous organizations committed to their well-being. His tireless efforts to save and care for these creatures spoke volumes about his compassionate nature and left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
Lawrence's journey was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George G. Goldberg and Enna Jean Baptiste, as well as his cherished brother Frantz and sister Gertrude. Their memories are woven into the fabric of his vibrant existence.
In the tapestry of Lawrence's life, he leaves behind a colorful array of loved ones who will continue to carry his memory forward. Survived by his brothers Rhodz and Schiller, and sisters Mirlande, Mirlene, Geraldine, and Georgette, Lawrence's familial bonds were strong and enduring.
While Lawrence may not have had children of his own, his heart overflowed with love for his twenty-six nieces and nephews, whom he embraced as if they were his own. Alongside his family, Lawrence leaves behind a vast circle of friends, each touched by his warmth, humor, and unwavering kindness. Though his physical presence may be gone, the echoes of his love and laughter will resonate in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be touched by his presence.
In his time on this earth, Lawrence lived a life brimming with experiences, laughter, and love. He leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by the multitude of lives he touched. Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will forever remain a cherished presence in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
