Obituary Preview: Renee Bailey Baucom transitioned to eternal life on May 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and a friend to all.
Renee was born to the late Autra B. Miller and Raymond Bailey in Lott, Texas on July 16, 1950. She confessed Christ at an early age with the Goodwill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor I.M. Murray. Renee was on the Usher Board, kitchen committee, and was the building fund secretary. Renee fought a good fight and was a faithful member until her health failed her. She grew up in Lott Texas and attended A B Davis Elementary and graduated from Lott High School. She obtained a degree in Business Accounting from McLennan Community College.
Renee and Wilbert Baucom met and married, and to this union they had four children: Anthony, Kimberly, Frederick (who proceeded her in death) and Khaliliha. Renee began her career with Veterans Affairs in Little Rock, Arkansas and later accepted a position with the V.A. Regional Office in Waco, Texas and worked 31 years and retired in 2014.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Anderson Miller; her son Frederick Baucom; brothers, Allen Bailey and Kevin Scott; her grandparents; numerous aunts and uncles.
Renee leaves to cherish her memory one son: Anthony Bailey (Brandi) of Little Rock Arkansas; two daughters: Kimberly Baucom of Lott Texas and Khaliliha Baucom of North Little Rock Arkansas; Grandchildren: Cambria Bailey, Kalem Bailey , Brandon Garrison, Christopher Gude, Camryn Grant, Autria Grant and Auden Baucom; one brother: Richard Bailey of Lott Texas; three sisters: Donna Woodruff of Lott Texas, Andra Mitchell of Converse Texas and Sandra (Greg) Kennedy of Hephzibah, Georgia; one step-sister, Jennifer Ballard of Houston, TX; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She leaves her loving cherished best friend Debra Armstead of many years.

Obituary Preview: Earl Alford was born on March 28, 1936, to the parentage of Mr. Lelve Alford, Sr., and Mrs. Lucille Killebrew Alford in Robertson County.
He attended the Calvert Colored High School, until his senior year, instead of enrolling in high school he enlisted in the Navy. He later obtained his high school diploma by taking GED classes in Dallas, Texas.
He joined the Independent Baptist Church in Rosebud, Texas at an early age. Upon moving to Calvert, Texas he united with the Magnolia Baptist Church. Later moving to Dallas, Texas he united with another Baptist church. Finally moving to Marlin, Texas, he united with the Zion Hill Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Brotherhood and Superintendent of the Sunday School and later as Assistant Superintendent. He attended church as long as was possible.
He worked at Sears in Dallas, Texas and for the Dallas Housing Authority. His final job was with Marlin Transit Company.
He met and married Marilyn Piper, after some time he later married Marion Armstrong. His third and final marriage was to Lear Ray Holloway.
He loved tinkering with cars, watching and listening to Bishop Patterson and other ministers on television and reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lelve Alford, Sr., two brothers, Lelve Alford, Jr., and Robert Lee Alford, two nephews, Curtis Alford and Sederic Flemings and all of his aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory a special nephew, Garry Alford, three nephews, Kenneth Alford (Gayle), Willie Earl Flemings (Crystal), Charles Kenneth Flemings (Valerie) ; three nieces; Winstonia Pleasant, DeAngela Johnson, Sanya K. Obituary Preview: Mr. Michael Wayne Williams was born on December 8, 1953 to the late Robert Lee Williams, Sr., and Ora Vivian Gray in Galveston, Texas. At an early age, he joined Greater St. Matthews Church under the leadership of Rev. T.H. Giles. As an adult, Michael joined I.B.O.C.) Inspiring Body of Christ Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Rickie G. Rush.
Michael attended Hitchcock Independent School district, where he was a member of the Bulldog Band. He went on to graduate Best Dressed in his high school class of 1972. Later on, he would attend Texas State Technical College (formerly TSTI), and graduated with a certificate in Printing and Reproduction.
He went on to join the United States Army in November of 1975 proudly serving four years in Korea and Germany. After the army, he went on to take Real Estate courses at McLennan Community College.

Obituary Preview: Francisco “Frank” Dominguez Sr, 84, of Chilton, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Frank grew up in Taylor, Tx and later moved with his family to Chilton, Tx. During his lifetime he worked in construction handling gravel, was a framer, and later established his own business, Mid-Tex Insulation. In 1992, he married his wife, Mary Dominguez.
Frank enjoyed going to deer leases, listening to music, watching western shows, going to the raceway, building go-karts and having his son Frankie race them. He also loved working on things that needed fixing and sitting outside telling jokes and stories to his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lucio and Tiburecia Dominguez, 3 brothers: Domingo, Paul & Jose Santos along with one sister Dominga Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Dominguez, sister Erma Martinez and husband Thomas; daughters Samantha Berrum and husband Rigo, Dolores Wells and husband Ernest, Susanna Morrow, and husband Harold; sons Justice Hill and wife Tomasa, David Dominguez Sr. and wife Olga, Francisco Dominguez Jr. and wife Linda; grandson Osmond Hill-Sanchez and wife Lexus, along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Paul Funeral Home, 208 Charles St., Marlin, Texas 76661 on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at twelve o’clock noon. Burial will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Chilton, Texas.

Billy’s favorite pastime was making jokes, hanging out with family and friends, making people laugh, and was an all-around people person. He knew no strangers; he was a passionate person that liked to help in any way he could. His smile, his look, or just a hello from him encouraged many people in his neighborhood. Billy’s hobbies were playing the piano, music, fishing, and watching old western movies. On March 5, 2024, Billy departed this earthly life. Obituary Preview: Emory Wayne Lofton Sr, age 60, was born July 24, 1963, in Marlin, Tx, to Ervin Lofton Sr. and Lottie Deloris Lofton. He passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4th, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, Tx.
Emory attended Marlin High School, class of 1981. He worked as a Housekeeping Supervisor at Elmwood Nursing Home and a handyman for his family and in the community. Emory enjoyed barbecuing and relaxing under the tree. He was a family man and was often known to babysit his nieces and nephews. Emory enjoyed the frequent visits from loved ones and close friends. He will always be remembered for his infamous smile, jokes and his daily order (box of Maverick menthol shorts and 2 beers).
He accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Greater Bethany Baptist Church where Pastor Durrell Ward is the current pastor.
He was preceded in death by his son, Damon Johnson, parents, sisters, Willie Lofton and Mary White, brother, Ervin Lofton, Jr, Nephews Alvin Hall and Daniel Guillory. Allen was born to the late Autra B. Miller and Raymond Bailey in Lott, Texas, on September 10, 1952. He confessed Christ at an early age with the Goodwill Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor I. M. Murray. He was affiliated with several churches, one being Ebenezer Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas. Allen later moved his membership to Marlin Missionary Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas, where he was ordained as a Deacon and a faithful member until his health failed him.
He attended A. B. Davis Elementary and Lott High School. He excelled in math and was good in all his academics. He played on the football and basketball teams as well as ran track. He worked with Mr. James Truesdale and Company moving houses and hauling hay. Allen worked in various nursing homes and hospitals as well as doing home health care for many.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Vina Pearl Bailey; parents, and stepfather, Anderson Miller; son, Todd Brown; grandson, Ketron Jr.; brother, Kevin Scott; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Obituary Preview: Johnny Vargas, the son of Roberto and Rebecca Vargas. He was born on April 20, 1971, in Memphis, Texas. He was the fifth child of seven kids. He was a son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and nephew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca S. Vargas and sister, Janie Vargas.
His hobbies were working on vehicles, playing basketball, dancing, and being a comedian. He loved hanging out with family and friends. No matter what, he would think about others before himself. He had a very big heart for anyone. He showed his love in a different way to everyone. He was always helping at the food pantries. His favorite food was scrambled eggs, pepperoni pizza, and a McDonald’s McDouble burger. His nicknacks, that’s what he called his candy and snacks, were peanut M&M’s, Skittles, Zebra Cakes and Coke. All we know is that he is no longer in pain and suffering. You are up in heaven with mom and our sister.
He is survived by his father, Roberto Vargas; son, John Anthony Vargas and daughter-in-law, Kelli Vargas; brothers and sisters, Robert Vargas, Jr., Josephina Castillo, Annie Emrick, Eva Herrera, and Paul Vargas; granddaughter, Korra Vargas; seven nephews; six nieces; five great-nephews; twelve great-nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Deacon, Charles Herman Paul, Marlin, TX - January 06, 1949 - January 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Deacon Charles Herman Paul was the fourth child born to Herman and Thelma Paul on January 6, 1949, in Marlin, Texas.
He professed a belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend L.J. Jackson at Marlin Missionary Baptist Church. Charles sang in the choir and was active in the Good Hope Western District Association as a youth. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1967. After graduation, he served in the United States Navy.
Charles moved to Houston, Texas, and was employed with IBEW Union in Houston, Texas. He later was employed with Houston ISD and in 2008 he retired after 20 plus years.
Charles united with the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. S.J. Gilbert, Sr., where he worked faithfully in the church. In 2009 he returned to Marlin to help manage the family business, Paul Funeral Home. He united with Marlin Missionary Baptist Church, and he later united with South Union Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board until his death.
Charles was an extremely caring person and had a giving soul and loved his family. A few of his civic and community affiliations include Prince Hall Mason, Hopeful Lodge No. 78, Rose of Sharon Consistory #180, Grand Inspector General of the 33rd Degree, ISAAD #275 Shriner, a member of the Marlin BTW Alumni Association, and the Ready to Help Club. But of all of Charles’ accomplishments, he was most proud of over 40 years of sobriety in Alcohol Recovery.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Thelma Paul; five sisters; and five brothers.

In Loving Memory of Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr.
Pastor Winfred Tyler was born on March 8, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas and made his triumphant transition to glory, with his eyes looking toward Heaven on January 15, 2024. Assuredly, the angels rejoiced at his arrival.
Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr. was raised by his praying mother, Mattie Mae Tyler. He was affectionately called, “Wimpy” by his family and close friends. Mattie Mae taught Winfred to always acknowledge God in all his ways. Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr. was the youngest of 5 children and grew up closely with his four siblings, Willie Mae, Edward (Sonny), Billy, and Clint. He loved his siblings and shared many memories with them.
Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr. confessed Christ at an early age and was an active member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. S. E. Steward. While at Shiloh he was a member of the youth department and a very strong, active, and dedicated member of the Usher Board.
He was educated in the public school system of San Antonio and graduated in 1979 from Sam Houston High School. During High School, he sang with the Spiritual Four, a gospel group where he often was the lead singer. Winfred loved music and would often beat on something and making music by tapping his hands. Besides music, Winfred loved to eat and enjoyed his sweets.
In 1980, Winfred was married and from that union, he had four children: NaTasha, Kimberly, Sha-Londa, and Winfred Tyler, Jr. He loved all of his children and prayed for them daily.
Upon graduation from High School, he joined the United States Army where he served his country for 13 years. He served two tours in Germany, was deployed during Desert Storm war, served at two bases, Fort Sam Houston, and then completed his military career at Fort Hood, Texas now known as Ft. Cavazos. While in Germany Winfred Tyler was ordained as a Deacon. During his time in the military Winfred was awarded Army commendation medal with four leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service medal, numerous NCO Professional Development Ribbons, the Army Service Ribbon, and a number of Overseas Service ribbons. After serving his Country he worked for the United States Postal Service as a Mail Processing Clerk for 14 years.
Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr., preached his first sermon in 1984 at Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church and from 1992 to 1998 he served as the Assistant to Pastor H.E. Debose. He preached the word of God for more than 40 years.
He was an ordained Pastor and an anointed Psalmist for the Lord. Many have been blessed to hear him teach and preach the word of God. Some of his favorite songs to minister were: When I See Jesus, He Looked beyond My Fault, I Need Thee Every Hour, and My Soul Has Been Anchored In The Lord. Pastor Tyler touched and won many souls for Christ.
In 1998 God called Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr. to Pastor the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Rockdale, Texas where he served as Pastor for 7 years. Following that, he served as Assistant Pastor at Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas for 2 years.
Pastor Winfred Tyler, Sr. believed in following the voice of the Lord and used the Lord’s voice to direct his path. In 2012, he became the Pastor of Summerhill Baptist Church of Pelham, Georgia where he served as Pastor for 5 years. During his time as Pastor, he served in several capacities - 2nd Vice Moderator of the Camilla Missionary Baptist Association, and a member of the Mitchell County Board for the Homeless Shelter.
During his evangelistic ministry, his journey led him to Albany, Georgia where he met and married his wife, Sister Barbara Tyler. As a blended family Pastor and Barbara Tyler are the proud parents of 7 adult children. After living in Albany, Georgia for 8 years, the Lord led him back to his humble beginnings, The Great State of Texas. Pastor Tyler desired to come back to the church where he first became a preacher and in May of 2017 he was called to serve as the Pastor of Simmonsville Missionary Baptist Church of Killeen, Texas.
During his time at Simmonsville, Pastor Tyler hosted the Missionary Baptist Convention Foreign Mission Board, "No More Violence Youth Convention", initiating outreach ministry, facilitating community events which included feeding and clothing the homeless, multiple clothes drives distributing to the KISD clothing closet, hygiene products were donated to Garden of Hope Foster Care Shelter, yearly Back to School Bash, Thanksgiving box giveaways, and other outreach efforts.
Pastor Tyler served as Dean of the Congress, Vice-President of Congress, and President of Congress for the Good Hope Western General Association. Pastor Tyler loved being a Pastor and truly wanted God's people to deepen their relationship with Christ.
To cherish his memories and continue his legacy he is survived by his loving wife Barbara Tyler; his children; Natasha Tyler; Shyquandria (Karsten) Reynolds; Alan (Jennifer) Thornton, Jr.; Kimberly Tyler; Julian (Jessica) Thornton; Sha-Londa Tyler; and Winfred Tyler, Jr. In addition, he leaves 9 wonderful grandchildren, DeVoure Williams; KaVeon Williams; Micah Thornton; Noel Thornton; Alfred Lacy; Asher Thornton; Genevieve Reynolds; Avyla Thornton; and Jameson Reynolds.
Also left to cherish his memory he leaves, his loving brother, Reverend Clint Tyler, one devoted brother-in-love, Reverend Albert Bob III, four sister-in loves, Yolanda Pope, Beverly Evans, Linda (Julius) Covin, and a loving mother-in-love Mrs. Laura Bob. He also leaves behind three Godchildren, Jamar Carson, Lexis Ashford, and Victoria Moore. He will be fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends that he encountered during the sixty-two years God gave him to us.
Pastor Tyler was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Mae Tyler, and father Charles Givens; his sister, Willie Mae Walker; his brothers Edward Hayes and Billy Hayes; and his granddaughter, Zoe Lacy.
Pastor Tyler loved the men and women of God and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His greatest desire and ambition were to preach God’s Word, teach God’s Word, and love God’s people. He trusted God completely and listened daily for God’s instructions. He was selfless, lived to please God, and allowed God to order his steps.
He was a great example of a man that followed God, and there is no doubt his legacy followed him to Heaven.

He loved looking good, and cleaning was his specialty. He could clean a car like no other and always desired to own a car cleaning business.
Richard met and married his wife, Betty Bailey, in 2005. His name for his beloved wife was “BB.” The song they used to express the love that they had for each other was, “I Will Always Love You,” by Whitney Houston.
Richard was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents and his brother, David M. Bailey.

They moved to Bossier City, LA, where she was raised. She graduated from Bossier High School and later married William Carroll Perry. They had one child, Dody Lynn Perry. After they divorced, she continued to work full-time and raise a child on her own. She finally found her siblings from Richmond and got to take a trip and meet her brother, Earl Reid, his wife Emmie, her sisters, Carole and Barbara and all of their children. As we go through life, we come across special people who are regarded as family as if blood related. Mary Jane, Susie, Steven, Lori and Adam, Jenella, Kris, Donna and Joe and Lydia.
She discovered late in life after retiring from Clinical Pathology Laboratories that she enjoyed volunteering. She became a member of Kyle Fire Department where she earned her ECA Certification. She was also a member of the Hays County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy Alumni Association. Outside of her volunteer work you couldn’t get her out of the house unless you said, Let’s go fishing! Then it was off to Paradise Point on Lake Buchannan. She always said that when she retired, she wanted to just stay home and watch TV., and that’s what she did. Pearl and Allen met, fell in love and later got married. She lovingly called him Bailey. She was also loved by all her family. Pearl had a beautiful smile and kind words for others. She had such a big heart and would give you the “shirt off of her back”.
Vina confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was affiliated with many churches, one being Ebenezer Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas. Sister Bailey later moved her membership to Marlin Missionary Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas where she was a faithful member until her death. Pearl had such a beautiful voice and sang many solos while leadings many songs in the choir. She served as the Mission President and whatever needed to be done.
She graduated from Mart High School in Mart, Texas. She later graduated from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas receiving an Associate's Degree. Vina worked for Girling Health Care as a caregiver. She also worked for TDCJ in Marlin, Texas and EOAC Day Care Center in Marlin, Texas
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Anderson and Autra Miller, a very special uncle Eliga Evans, who she loved very much and several other aunts and uncles.

Washington Elementary School and graduated from Marlin High School, class of 1978. Sam Jr. was a hardworking man and had several jobs to support his family until his health prevented him from doing so. His favorite pastime was playing dominoes with his friends and watching football, his “Dallas Cowboys”.
On November 10th, Sam Jr. departed this earthly life.

Obituary Preview: Eliga Evans was born on June 11, 1945, to the late Theodore and Bettie Evans. He attended Mart High School in Mart, Texas. He ran track and won many trophies, which are displayed in the Mart ISD trophy case in his honor. He dropped out of school to help take care of his father and mother financially. He later moved to Houston, Texas, and started his driving career as a driver for McMahan Chevrolet, delivering parts for the dealer. Eliga loved to drive, although he never owned a car, he would take you wherever you wanted to go in yours. It didn’t matter what time of the day or night; you could call him, and he was always ready.
After moving back to Marlin, he united with several churches, but the one that inspired him the most was Greater Bethany Baptist Church, under the pastorship of Pastor Durrell Ward. He fell in love with the pastor and members on his first visit. They treated him like he was somebody special, and he was. Pastor Ward was with Eliga all the way through his journey., all he had to do was call him. First lady, Sister Clara Ward, made sure he ate; he even went so far as to tell her what he wanted, he loved his first lady.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Vastine and Bennie Lee Truesdale. Her husband Maurice Scott, daughter Patty Jackson; sisters Gloria Murray and Velma Campbell; brothers T.L. and N.R. Truesdale and niece Felonese Gamble.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory, two daughters, Minster Sherry Massington of Lott, Texas and Vickie Scott of Waco, Texas, one son Mitchell (Janie) Scott of Red Oak, Texas.
