Obituary Preview: In loving memory of Frank McDaniel III, a cherished soul whose spirit of generosity, kindness, and love enriched the lives of countless individuals, he passed away on March 6, 2024, at the age of 73. Frank was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on October 16, 1950, to the late Frank McDaniel Jr. and Laura Mae McDaniel. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, his beloved daughter and only child, Akia Uwanda McDaniel, his adored grandchildren, Akai Marje McDaniel and Akhil Jai Davis, and his siblings: Renetta Ford, Maurice McDaniel, Keith McDaniel, Lori Wells, and Hattie Jean Taylor, along with numerous cousins, relatives and dear friends. He was affectionately known as “Buster” or “McNasty”.
Frank proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Military and received an Honorable Discharge from the US Air Force. He pursued his academic endeavors at Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida, where he earned an AA Degree in Physiology. Following his military service, Frank dedicated 35 years of his life to the US Postal Services before retiring. Frank had a zest for life and found joy in many pursuits, including playing tennis, basketball and chess, enjoying great music, cooking delicious meals, watching old films, thrillers, and comedies, and relishing in the company of loved ones at lively gatherings. He possessed a keen intellect and a love for engaging in theological and philosophical discussions, often delighting in a spirited debate. Frank held a deep appreciation for African culture, the African and Black Diaspora, activism, and delving into historical contexts.

She played basketball from the age of 10 until adult hood. In her spare time, Niyetsha loved to attend music concerts; especially to see

Obituary Preview: Chiquita Renee Brown-Page, of Roswell Georgia, passed away peacefully with her mother by her side on February 20, 2024, at WellStar North Fulton Hospital –
Alpharetta Georgia. Chiquita, affectionately known as "Ki Ki" and "Kita,"
was born on August 31, 1971, in Jacksonville Florida.
She was the middle child of Ralph and Barbara Brown. She was a graduate of Wolfson Senior High School and attended Florida Junior College at Jacksonville. She was currently enrolled at a local Atlanta college, pursuing
an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. Chiquita always had a smile on her face, even during the times when she wasn’t feeling well. She was a friend to many and enjoyed being in the presence of her parents, children, brother and sister. She spent the last two years with her parents who served as her caregivers. Kita endured a series of medical issues
several years ago, including a stroke and a heart attack. Through God’s grace, she endured both but couldn’t
beat the cancer that took control of her body. Chiquita is survived by her parents Ralph and Barbara J. Brown; her sister Chanell D. Brown; her brother Michael D, Brown, husband Steve and her four sons Alandrey, Jamille, Christopher and Malachi. She also leaves behind Aunts and Uncles, including Arnold Damon (Ronelle) of California and Deborah Damonel of California, as well as Rev. Karl Brown (Tonnyna) of Yulee Florida; Nephews, a Niece, Cousins and a dear

In 1941 Bertha married the love of her life, James Brinson.
In 1942 the couple moved to Jacksonville's Arlington area. there, they raised 6 beautiful children together.  She was employed by Citizens Federal Bank and Jacksonville University.
Bertha was a God-fearing woman who deeply loved her family, church, and community.  She enjoyed gardening and helping others.  When asked how she was doing she would say: "Thanking God for Another Day, He is my keeper".
God kept Bertha for 97 years until she was called home on Monday, February 5, 2024.
Bertha leaves to cherish her loving memories daughters; Julia(Ron) Bassham and Marion(Gerald) Wright; sons-in-law, Earl Greene and James L. Born December 11, 1962. Shannon entered the Navy at AFEES Cleveland, OH, October 28, 1981. Spent 11 years, 3 months out at sea on the USS Chosin CG-65, USS Oscar Austin DDG-79. Honorably retiring on board USS Enterprise CVN-65 July 31, 2002.
One of his shore duty stations was as a Navy Recruiter where he was awarded his Seventh Gold Wreath on his Recruiting Badge for Excellence in Recruiting. Shannon was awarded several campaign and personal achievement medals to include, Navy Commedation Medal (2), Navy Achievement Medal (4), Meritorious Unit Commedation, Battle "E" Ribbon (4), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expiditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Navy Unit Commidation, NATO Medal & Expert Marksman Pistol Medal. Shannon finished out his Inactive Reserves commitment (21 years total service) at Naval Reserve Personnel Center, New Orleans, LA.
Above all, Shannon was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Shannon Ramey was preceded in death by his Father; Hobert Ramey and Grandparents: Robert and Bonnie Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years; Karen Ramey; children; Brian (Shelby) Ramey, Cameron Ramey, Hope (Zachary Lutton) Ramey, Shane Ramey, Shawn (Megan) Ramey, and Angela Ramey; gradchildren Shawn Michael Jr., Faith Colton and Baby Hope Ramey; Mother; Judith Ramey; and Brothers; Ken (Heather) Ramey, Robert (Jill) Ramey and Rick Evans and several neices and nephews.
In remembering Shannon, we reflect on the many lives he inspired, mentored and changed. As a father, he always led with a guiding hand on his childrens shoulder. As a coach in his community, he not only led the Gold Gloves to many district championships, he forever altered the lives of his players and those who were privledged to coach beside him, by being a leader on and off the field. In the office where, as an Operations Manager, his leadership is woven into the achievements of the team he passionately guided.
Shannon had a way of teaching life lessons when you least expect it. No man is indispensable, but some are irreplacable, and Shannon Ramey is one of them.
