Obituary Preview: Reverend Albert “Al” Ray Shannon, 81, of Collinsville, Oklahoma transitioned to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 16th, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born November 18th, 1939, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma to Myrtle Ella (Maxfield) and Raymond Buddy Shannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Ruth Ella Hudson; and two brothers, Bobby Joe Shannon, and Raymond Buddy Shannon.
Albert spent most of his adult life in Alaska, where he resided from 1974 to 2017, before moving to Collinsville. He loved to hunt and fish in the beautiful landscapes of Alaska. Albert received an Associate’s Degree in Ministry from Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. Before becoming a minister, Albert carried a pilot’s license. He loved the Lord and his family deeply.
He is survived by one daughter, Pam Buff and husband Fred, of Collinsville, Oklahoma; two sons, Clifton L. Shannon and wife Kristen, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Darrell Shannon, of Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren, Alecia Shannon, of OKC, Oklahoma, Adam St. Louis, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Russell James Shannon, Steven Christopher Shannon, and Johnathan Sasieta, all of Anchorage, Alaska; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive him.

Leola Jean Runels - September 30, 1939 - March 15, 2021

Obituary Preview: Leola Jean (Wilkins) Runels, 81, of Collinsville, Oklahoma passed March 15, 2021, in Scottsdale, Arizona. She was born to Cecil and Myrtle (Rogers) Wilkins in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 30, 1939.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Jean married the love of her life, Ronald Lee Runels at Glenwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 4, 1957. From their union, three children were born.
Jean was the glue that held her family together. Her stalwart faith, maintained throughout her life, guided everyone around her. She was known for her pie-making prowess and took great pride in preparing the best pies ever. She raised three children while working full time for Security Pacific Bank, and later Bank of America, retiring from there later as an assistant manager. After her retirement, she spent her time attending church, playing bunko, quilting, baking, and caring for her husband. Among her favorite activities was spending time with her large extended family, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. Her care and concern for everyone was evident throughout her life. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville before moving to Scottsdale, AZ in October 2020. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of more than 63 years, Ronald Lee Runels.
Left to cherish her memories are their loving children, Debra White and husband Robert, of Claremore, OK, Vicki Lynes and husband Steve, of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Doug Runels and wife Melinda, of Bristow, OK; four grandchildren, Kristi Smith-Sullivan and husband, Scott, of Austin, TX, David Runels and wife Cindy, of Scottsdale, AZ, Heather Weaver and husband Richard, of Midland, TX, and Kimberly Runels and partner Matthew Brantley, of Corvallis, OR; eight great-grandchildren: Kourtni, Jacob, Lauren, Henry, Connor, Chase, Alexandria, and William; a host of other relatives and friends also survive her.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 2nd, 2021, from 9 am to 7 pm at Parsons-Canoe-Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with family being present from 4 pm to 7 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Cemetery in Leach, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Lucas Shell Jr. and Jackie Shell; two sisters, Nina Waeltz and Wanda Nakedhead; two brothers, Joe Scott and Lawrence Scott; and two nephew, Raymond Sanders and Thomas Waeltz.
Jessie loved her family deeply. She loved sewing, writing and could always be found watching wrestling. She always enjoyed her occasional drive while listening to music.
Left to Cherish her memory is two daughters, Dawneva Shell, of Stilwell and Geneva Shell and companion, Eric Salazar, of Stilwell; one son, Luke Shell; five grandchildren, Summer Shell, William Gregory, Channelle Gregory, Isaac Adair, and Sophie Adair; one soon to be great-grandson, Carmello; two sisters, Linda Waeltz and husband Kelly, of Decatur, Arkansas and Celia Adair, of Stilwell; three brothers, Roy Feathers, of Stilwell, JB Feathers, of Stilwell, and Dusty Feathers, of Stilwell; a host of other relatives and friends also survive her.

Katherine received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Obituary Preview: Ronald Lee Runels, 81, of Collinsville, Oklahoma passed January 6, 2021 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born to Tommy Leon and Ada Elaine (Leach) Runels in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 6, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ronnie married the love of his life, Leola Jean Wilkins at Glenwood Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 4, 1957. From their union, three children were born.
Ron was known as the family genius and could often be found in his shack working on his Ham Radio or in the computer room assembling, disassembling, or tinkering with a computer. He holds two patents for his work on mass spectrometers and he built the control electronics for the sampling arm of the Mars Viking Space Probe that was sent to Mars in the 1970s. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville before moving to Scottsdale, AZ in October of 2020.

Beverly Ann Ketchum - April 28, 1929 - December 24, 2020

Obituary Preview: Beverly Ann (Howell) Ketchum, 91, of Sperry, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on December 24th, 2020. She was born on April 28th, 1929 to Alva and Cassie (Turney) Howell in Calhoun, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Ketchum; her sister, Mary Rebecca Wilkinson; and her brother, William Harvey Howell.
Beverly was raised and attended high school in Clinton, Missouri, and later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she attended college, majoring in English and joining the swim team. After leaving college, she married and would go on to have two children. In her earlier years, she was an LPN and later worked as a hospice attendant for several years. She later made her living as a clerk in civil service and made her home in several states, including Arizona, California, and Kentucky, before settling again in Calhoun, where she married her husband, Robert Ketchum, on May 27th, 1967. She and Robert remained married until his passing in 2014. After her husband’s passing, she moved to Sperry in 2016.
After she retired, she went on to take up sewing, at which she became quite skilled. She was always an active church member, where she could be found singing in the choir, where she became known for her lovely alto voice, joining the heavenly choir just in time to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Beverly loved clothes and jewelry, and often worked part-time in ladies’ retail, frequently taking advantage of employee discounts. She also adored infants and children, as well as music of all kinds.
She is survived by her daughter, Cassie Parsons, of Sperry, and her son, Kim Ketchum, of Friendswood, Texas.

Chosa; four sisters, Polly Fourkiller, Alice Faye Deason, Betsy Byrd Wilson, and Katie Jean Warrick; one brother, Robert Lee Wilson; three aunts, Florence Soap, Joanna McLemore, and Johnann Wolfe; four uncles, Commodore (Red) Fourkiller, Larkin Fourkiller, Billy Fourkiller, and James Fourkiller; and his grandfather, Judge Fourkiller.
William was a family man who always enjoyed his time spent with them. He loved babysitting his granddaughter, Addison, any chance he got. During his free time, you could find William on the green at the golf course. He also enjoyed watching the news to be updated with current events.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Sid and Lucinda (Duncan) Duck Jr.; paternal great-grandparents, Jim and Geneva Proctor; great-grandmother, Alma Warrior; grandfather, Thomas Henry Spottedcrow; and mother, Michelle Daugherty.
Malcolm graduated from Cave Springs High School in 2017. He enjoyed taking the occasional cruise while listening to all kinds of music. He was a video game enthusiast and played very often. His sisters were his everything and he kept them close to his heart, as well as his special little cousins, Jett, Aris, and Ally Duncan, and Keaton Howard. Malcolm gave his life to the Lord and was a member of Cherry Tree Baptist Church. He was always laughing or joking around. He never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile.
Left to cherish Malcolm’s memories are his mom, Kari Lynn Duncan of Stilwell; father, Thomas Malcolm Spottedcrow of Stilwell; four siblings, Amiah Galcatcher, Keely Keener, Kellby Keener and Soaren Keener all of Stilwell; grandmother, Sarah Wilson of Tahlequah; grandmother, Leda Green of Red Rock, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Leo and Patty Duncan of Bunch, Oklahoma; two aunts, Genci Thomas and husband Larry of Little Rock, Arkansas and Chasity Duncan of Bunch; uncle, Chase Leo Duncan of Bunch; special cousin, Ericka Fourkiller; goddaughter, Baby Kinley Klay Buckner; special friends, Sean Keener and companion Cherish, Shelia Bird, Victoria Matlock, Jimmy Sellers and Matt Shell; a host of cousins, friends and other relatives also survive him. Malcolm will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; parents; two brothers, Haskell Williams Jr., and Mike Shell; three sisters, Mary Tidwell, Barbara Stepp, and Norma Shell; and niece, Sara Pritchett.
Vina was a member of Piney Creek Baptist Church. She was a natural caregiver and would give the shirt off her own back. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Tiffy enjoyed playing Candy Crush, going to local yard sales, and attending gospel singings. Lastly, she always enjoyed her daily gossip sessions with her sister, Peggy.

He was preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents Nettie Mae Britt and Solomon Meggs and maternal grandparent Loren Kieth Crofton.
Those left to hold dear his memory are his maternal grandmother Doris Elaine Crofton, father Larry Clark, Mother Lynn Clark, son Garrett Jay Clark, daughter Kennedy Raeanne McLaughlin, and his fiancé Tanya Tucker-Keele. There are a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was an only child, and his friends became his family starting from a very young age. He will be sorely missed by many.

James grew up in Stilwell where he graduated from Stilwell High School in 2014. He had a working mentality and loved to work. He enjoyed his occasional walks with his dog, Patches. He loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. James loved traveling to different places building pole barns with his work crew. He was an avid coin collector.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Taylor and Sarah (Eli) Duncan; maternal grandparents, Albert and Irene (Soap) Wolfe; sister, Lisa “Sti-ga” Duncan; brother-in-law, Christopher Hill; father-in-law, Levi “Papa Dear” Daugherty; and mother-in-law, Ruby (Vann) Daugherty.
Frances married the love of her life, Edward over 23 years ago. From their union, three children were born: Abel, Abraham, and Hannah. She was a devout Christian and a member of Pleasant Valley Holiness Church for about 23 years, where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She loved going to church and to any type of gospel singing or revival. She found joy and comfort from reading the Bible. When Frances was not at a church function, you could often find her at the Stilwell High School football game on Friday nights. She also enjoyed fishing, going to cruise nights, and looking at fancy cars at car shows.

Jack was a family man, he loved spending time with his children, grandkids and his dogs Brutus, and Pretty Girl. He enjoyed taking road trips, watching the Dallas Cowboys and OU football, and was a great “family weatherman”. Jack served as an SGT in the United States Army and as a Deacon of Sequoyah Baptist Church for 35 years. He was the best cement finisher in the state of Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Taylor and Sarah (Eli) Duncan; maternal grandparents, Albert and Irene (Soap) Wolfe; brother-in-law, Cristopher Hill; and numerous aunts and uncles also passed before her.
Sti-ga was a member of Four Vision Baptist Church, where she dedicated her life to the Lord on July 1, 2012. She was her children’s biggest and LOUDEST supporter and made sure she attended any activity that her children were involved in, rather it be an educational function or sporting event. They were truly her #1. She was well known to be an all-around fierce competitor. She loved sports, especially basketball, and rooted on many teams including, the Oklahoma Sooners, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Oakland Raiders. Sti-ga was a hard-dedicated worker, such a hard worker that she would rather use a push mower than a riding mower to mow the grass. Her father was her rock and she found joy by giving him a hard time. She loved to collect Mickey Mouse memorabilia. Sti-ga loved movies and had a massive 3,000 movies in her collection. She loved watching Criminal Minds, Chicago P.D., Bones, Supernatural and many other shows.
She leaves behind her husband, Scotty Grimmett of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; five children, Arik Duncan, Tristin Duncan, Aaron Duncan, Logan Duncan and Keilani Grimmett; parents, Frank and Lillie (Wolfe) Duncan; six siblings, Frankie Duncan of Stilwell, Nena Duncan-Hunt and companion Brian Wacoche of Tahlequah, Amy Duncan-Hill of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Frances Daugherty and husband Edward of Stilwell, Albert “Big Boy’ Duncan of Stilwell and Timothy Duncan and companion Bridget Gann of Stilwell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her and will miss her deeply.

Nancy was a devout Baptist and was a lifelong member of Cherry Tree Baptist Church and was an active member of the Women’s Ministry Union. Nancy grew up with Cherokee as her first language. She attended and graduated from Stilwell High School in 1970. After graduating high school, Nancy went to Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas, and received an Associate’s of Applied Science in Food Service in May of 1972. She worked at Richard Watson’s Apple Town in Lincoln, Arkansas for over 20 years making fresh apple cider. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply. She was an avid crafter and could craft anything that was asked of her. She loved to cook, especially her famous biscuits and gravy. She could always be found garage selling with her sister and best-friend, Ozzie Castro. She loved her dog, Chico deeply.  She loved to travel, especially to see her family in Mexico.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband of 41 years, Silvero Gonzalez of the home; three daughters, Margarita Hernandez and husband Israel Anguiano of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Karina Martinez and fiancé Jose Bahena of Springdale, Arkansas and Tomassina Hernandez and best-friend Jason Riddle of Lawerence, Kansas; five grandchildren, Makayla Hernandez, Amayah Anguiano, Dante Anguiano, Joaquin Martinez and Jacquelyn Martinez; one nephew, McKinley Hernandez of Stilwell; one aunt, Charolette Grimmett of Stilwell; two brothers-in-laws, Tomas Hernandez of Stilwell and Perfecto Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas; three sister-in-law’s, Aurelia Gonzalez, Ana Hernandez and Antonia Martinez, all of San Luis Potosi, Mexico; best-friend, Ozzie Castro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her.

Joe Scott, Jr. - February 19, 1950 - August 17, 2020

Obituary Preview: Joe Scott Jr. was born on February 19, 1950 to Joseph and Lyndia (Adair) Scott in Stilwell, OK. He passed from this life to his eternal life on August 17, 2020 at the age of 70. He was an Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. Joe married his loving wife, Betty Sue Vann on September 12, 1980. Joe loved to fish and hunt. He planted a garden, not because he loved it, but because he loved his wife Sue. He attended Dahlonegah School, Seneca Indian School, Sequoyah High School, and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was a fluent Cherokee speaker. He always said, “I am Cherokee Tsi Tsi Li Gi, the last of my kind!”
He was an artist and won many awards for his paintings and carvings. His paintings hang in private collections in the U.S. and even in the Ukraine.
Joe gave is life to the Lord Jesus in September 2013 and was an active member of Cherry Tree Baptist Church.
Proceeding him in death was his father, Joseph Scott; mother Lyndia Adair; brother, Baby Boy Adair, and two sisters, Wanda Nakedhead and Baby Girl Adair.
Joe leaves behind his wife, Betty of the home; four sons, Ricky Scott, Stacy Scott and fiance Terry Adair, Solomon Scott and Marco Mendoza all of Stilwell, OK; five daughters, Alison Leigh Scott of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jennifer Hawk of St. Lawrence, New Hampshire, Adriana Jones of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Evalyn and Karleigh Silva of Stilwell, Oklahoma; three sisters, Linda Waeltz of Decatur, Arkansas, Celia Adair of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Jessie Shell of Stilwell, Oklahoma; four brothers, Lawrence Scott of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Dusty and wife Ginger, J.B. Feathers, and Roy (Yabba) Feathers of Stilwell, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Olivia Scott of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Abigail Mae Mason and Kodi Hawk Mason of St. Lawrence, New Hampshire; a host of many nieces, nephews and friends are left to mourn his passing.

Harold attended Oklahoma Baptist University, where he played basketball and met his wife, Saralene Nachtigall. They were married twice, once in college and again after 36 years apart, because once was not enough. In between those 36 years, they had families of their own that they combined into one.
Harold served 8 years in the National Guard. Then he went on to have a successful career in sales, which allowed him to travel and make friends, which for him was a life well-lived.
Harold, a lover of bargains and a good story, was known to say “Now, this is a true story!” Which needed to be said because his adventures were not only entertaining but would not happen to just anyone. Whether purchasing 900 Zingers for 3 cents apiece or waking up to only a zipper where his pants had once hung near a campfire! His many stories of adventures and bargains will live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bessie Johnson; son, Mike Johnson, his wife, Sheila, and grandson; three brothers, Beau Garrison, Charles Johnson, and Bill Johnson; and two sisters, Goldie and Eula.
Harold is survived by his wife, Saralene (Sari) Blackburn Johnson; two sons, Robbie, and wife, Jamie of Perkins, OK and Greer Johnson of Dallas, TX; one daughter, Keri Patton, and husband, Bradley of St Louis, MO; two stepdaughters, Kendra, and husband, Jon of Wichita, KS and Shonda and husband, Clay of Frederick, OK; one brother, David, and wife, Sharon of Springfield, MO; one sister, Barbara Rice of Neosho, MO. His surviving grandchildren are Robert, Tristen, LaRissa, Hannah, Trevor, Avery, Quinn, Lukas, William, Collier, Sophia, Abby, and Dakota along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends that love him.
Harold had given his heart to Jesus and loved the Lord. He was loved by his family and friends.  Although we may not have been ready to let him go, he was ready to go to heaven.
