He was born on December 29, 1956 in Anderson to William and Alice (Parish) Johnson. He attended Alexandria schools. Pat was currently employed at Triple S Tire in Elwood, where he specialized in heavy equipment repair. He was a member of the Alexandria Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a supporter of various veteran’s organizations. Pat was devoted to his dog “Breezy.” He was a Harley-Davidson fan, and enjoyed hunting and NASCAR. His family would like Pat to be remembered as a hardworking good man and a good father. He took his step-children in as his own. Survivors; His mother-Alice Johnson-Alexandria

Sharon was an avid reader however, her greatest joy in life was her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed quilting and was a gifted oil painter and an avid reader. However, the time she spent with family gave her the greatest enjoyment. Patsy Mae "Pat" Breckenridge - January 04, 1938 - October 20, 2017

Obituary Preview: Patsy Mae "Pat" Breckenridge went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2017 in the home of her son, John surrounded by her children.
Pat was born to Wilbert and Helen Paschen on January 4th, 1938 in Metea, Indiana. A farm child, she never lost the love of working in the soil or watching things grow.
On November 16, 1958, Pat married the love of her life Charles "Chuck" Breckenridge. They were married for 48 years before his death on April 12, 2006.
She was a 45 year member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria. She served as a Sunday school teacher and Deaconess for many years. A member of Master Gardeners of Madison County and the Alexandria Garden Club. She loved to sew, do crafts, rummage, and work in her yard and farmhouse. Most of all, she loved her family and got her greatest joy watching her children and grandchildren play sports.
Pat is survived by her son, John (Sharon) Breckenridge of Frankton, IN, daughters Lee (Gary) Moore of Fairview, TX, Mikhail (Bob) Willoughby of Alexandria, and Kasey (Andrew) Bacanskas of Escondido, CA ; her grandchildren, Charles (Brittany), Cameron, Carson (Rachel), Brandon, Sydney, Kendall, Nate, and Abigail and great-grandchildren John and Rylan. Also her step-mother, Wilma Paschen, her brothers Robert Paschen, Chuck Paschen, Gary (Diane) Paschen, sisters Donita (Ben) Redding and Betty Morris, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death, her parents, husband, infant daughter Kelly Layne and her sister-in-law Lois Paschen.
Services honoring Pat's legacy and faith will take place at 2 pm on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the First Baptist Church, 2107 Park Avenue, Alexandria with Pastor Michael Deutsch officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Friends may call at the First Baptist Church on Sunday from 5 pm to 8 pm or after 1 pm on Monday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alexandria First Baptist Church with envelopes available at the visitation and services.

Stephen Peter Freeman - April 23, 1937 - October 15, 2017

Obituary Preview: ALEXANDRIA, IN-A fourth-generation Madison County resident, Stephen Peter Freeman lived his life in Alexandria, coming into town April 23, 1937, on East Jackson Street, and leaving October 15, 2017, from his East Garfield Street home of 50 years – just three blocks south.
Named for his paternal and maternal grandfathers, he was the youngest of Noah Earl and Beatrice (Houston) Freeman's children. His parents and siblings, Elvara Hoffman, Phyllis Haymond, Earl Freeman, and Ann Chambers, preceded him in death.
On April 15, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, Sandra King, who survives him. Both graduated with the AMHS Class of 1955. The couple has two sons, Stephen Eric and Christopher Neil, and five grandchildren, Stephen Peter II, Kadie Louise, Christopher Nickolas, Molly Terese, and Benjamin Daniel King Freeman.
Starting out with the Alexandria Times Tribune as a journeyman press operator, Steve moved to the Marion Chronicle newspaper before taking a position with Warner Press, where he spent a career of nearly 40 years. In retirement, he became an associate stock broker with Charles Schwab, purchasing manager for Alexandria's Resin Partners and an advisor with Inventech International.
Steve earned a degree in marketing from Ball State University. He was fond of going out for dinner, drum music, smoking his pipe, touring Indiana wineries, sitting on his deck, feeding birds, driving his Jaguar, and spending time with friends from the Nazarene Church.
The founding president of the Alexandria Community Center, he held all offices with the Alexandria Jaycees and Junior Achievement, was involved with the Madison County United Way, Pete's Pantry, and held several district and local offices with the Crossroads of America Council of Boy Scouts of America. Finishing short of earning his Eagle Scout Award as a boy, he was particularly proud of both of his sons accomplishing that goal.
Services celebrating Steve's life and legacy will take place at 10 am on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Owens Funeral Home, Alexandria with Pastor Mark Diemer officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 4 pm to 7 pm.

Carolyn lived in Indianapolis for more than 40 years and most recently in Alexandria for the past 15 years. Carolyn served in the Women's Army Corps (WACs) during the Korean War. She worked as a nursing assistant at the former Winona Hospital in Indianapolis for more than 40 years. She was a member of Our Blessed Savior Lutheran Church of Alexandria. She enjoyed caring for animals, reading, music, walks and traveling. She loved her family very deeply and their family gatherings and visits always brought her much pleasure and enjoyment. Survivors: Brother-Louis (Rita) Blankenhorn-Armada, Michigan Cousins-Joann Nisley Saucedo, Donna Key-Kerr, Barrett (Anastasia) Key and their daughter Etta, Bradley (Tennille) Key, Becca Key-Kerr and her son Ade` She was preceded in death by her parents, a cousin-Greg Saucedo

Cremation will follow the services with private interment of the cremains in Park View Cemetery at the convenience of the family. He enjoyed firearms, his car and his motorcycle. Tony had a way with small children and they dearly loved him. He enjoyed just "hangin' out" with his friends. Family time was very important to Tony, especially the time he spent with his grandparents. She was born on January 4, 1980 in Tecumseh, Michigan to Gerald Allen and Penny (Smith) Anderson. Tiff was a graduate of Onsted High School-Class of 1998 and Kellogg Community College in 2000. She has lived in the Alexandria area since 2006. She worked as a dental hygienist for Kluth Family Dentistry in Alexandria, and McDonald Family Dentistry in McCordsville. She was an active and beloved member of Delta Theta Tau sorority of Alexandria. She was a member of the Christian Congregation Church of Alexandria, and a classroom volunteer in the Alexandria Elementary School. She also sold "31" bags. Tiff enjoyed scrapbooking, amateur photography, and talking and texting on her cell phone. She raised animals, planted flowers, loved to plan parties and decorate. She was a people person, and made friends with anyone that she crossed paths with. Tiff was most beloved for her vibrant personality, and perseverance in life. She devoted her life to the care and nurturing of her family, especially her two precious daughters. She also volunteered in the office at St. Mary's School for more than 10 years. Marcy enjoyed fishing, reading and was an avid fan of IU basketball. Family was very important to Marcy, especially the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born on December 13, 1928 in Antigo, Wisconsin, grew up in Summitville, IN and later attended Broad Ripple High School and has resided in Alexandria since 1949 upon her marriage to Jack Walker.
Koryne was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed for her love of God and the Bible, her lessons in home-making and cooking, her Christmas cookies, her wonderful talents as a portrait and still life artist, and her devoted love for her family and friends. Koryne supported her husband, Jack, in their farm life during 64 years of marriage, including their chicken business, their "Woodburner" stove shop, and in their retirement keeping up the farm and supporting their children and families. Koryne provided art lessons for the community and family for many years from her quaint art studio nestled in the woods and was founder of the Alexandria Artist Guild and an active member of the Anderson Art League. She continued her artwork until her death. Obituary Preview: ALEXANDRIA, IN- Donald J. Warner, 86, of Alexandria passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie after a brief illness. Don was a lifelong resident of Alexandria. He was born on Feb. 20, 1931 to Charles and Gertrude (Robertson) Warner and was a graduate of Alexandria High School, Class of 1949.
He served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. Don returned from his military service and spent his life on the family farm.
Don was involved with farming and raising livestock throughout his life. He began raising his own livestock as a child, which enabled him to save enough money to help purchase the family farm in 1948 at age 17. Don loved animals of all kinds and continued to raise rabbits, chickens, pigeons, and doves for over 60 years - a hobby he shared with his childhood friend Marvin Trice.
A lifelong tinkerer, Don enjoyed working with his hands. He started motorizing bicycles as a child and went on to have many motorbikes throughout his life. From his childhood Whizzer to his Harley-Davidson and his many Model A Fords and farm tractors, Don had a love of machinery & mechanics. He worked at Haynes Stellite, Warner Gear, Johns Manville, and Anaconda, and retired from Guide Lamp in 1989.
Don followed boxing his whole life and also enjoyed mowing, cruising around Alex, and snacking on popcorn and ice-cream with Georganna, his wife of 61 years. Survivors include: Wife Georganna Warner, Alexandria Son Chuck (Trena) Warner, Alexandria Daughter Jami (James) Warner-Duncan, Noblesville Grandchildren Whitney & Emarie Warner, Alexandria. Jerry was skilled in computer technology and fond of all genre of music, passions which he shared with everyone. He was the #1 fan of his grandkids. He was born on January 5, 1936 to Chesley and Doris (Pritchard) Thomas. Tom was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1954. He also attended Franklin College in Franklin where he was member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was in the Black Horse Troop long ago at Culver Academy. He proudly served with the United States Army from 1958 to 1961.He was the owner of Thomas Tax Service and Thomas Insurance in Alexandria. He was a Past President of the Alexandria Lions Club, a member and district deputy Alexandria Elks- #478 and was treasurer of the Madison County Dramatic Players. He was a longtime volunteer with the American Red Cross and United Way. Tom was a lifetime member of Alexandria First Baptist church and volunteered frequently and served on various boards. His hobbies included anything to do with horses or his grandchildren. For many years, he showed horses and beef cattle at the 4- H fair. He proudly rode horses with his family as color guards in parades through Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Marilyn (Shelton) Thomas, son, Tommy (Jill McNary) Thomas, 2 beloved grandchildren, Lilly (12) and Blake (9), close cousin- Ann (Graham) DeVore and Roger of Columbus, and several special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his aunt-Evelyn Graham.
Services honoring Tom's life, legacy and faith will take place at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in the Alexandria First Baptist Church, 2107 Park Avenue. Pastor Michael Deutsch and Rev. Clifton Richardson will officiate. Interment with military honors will take place at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria. Obituary Preview: ALEXANDRIA, IN - Rolland Keith Gray, 88, of Alexandria, passed away April 5, 2017 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus. Keith was born November 15, 1928 in Anderson, IN to Clifford O. and Edna A. (Wilson) Gray, the middle child of three children. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1947.
He entered the service as an Army Medic in 1950 and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1952 and began attending Anderson College. He graduated in 1957 with a degree in biology.
While attending Anderson College and South Meridian Church of God, he met and eventually married (July 10, 1952) Juanita Braswell, who was finishing her classes in elementary education at Anderson College. They made their home in Alexandria where they faithfully attended the Alexandria Church of God. Keith gained employment at the Alexandria Junior High as an industrial arts teacher in the fall of 1960. By 1962, Keith and Juanita had four children. He continued his education and earned a master's degree in education from Ball State University in 1965.
All four children survive: son, Stephen K. (Connie) Gray; daughter, D'Ellen J. (Carlos) Parter; daughter, Sharon E. (Wayne) Priest; and son, Michael N. (Kathy) Gray. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his loving spouse, Juanita Braswell Gray, and his two brothers and sisters-in-law: Robert Lewis (Barbara) Gray and Myron Eugene "Dean" (Mary) Gray.
Keith received wonderful care from the staff at Bethany Pointe during the last days of his life for which his family is extremely grateful.
Services honoring Keith's faith and life legacy will take place at 11 am on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the Alexandria Church of God, 302 North West Street, Alexandria. Rev. Tom Malbone will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.

Marlene was born on January 13, 1939 in Alexandria to Lawrence and Agnes (Garner) Beane and attended Alexandria schools while living here all of her lifetime. She has worked as an aide in home health care for more than 40 years. Marlene's loving patience went above and beyond the basic needs of her patients. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Alexandria where she served faithfully as a deaconess. Marlene volunteered for many church activities and helped prepare monthly newsletters and weekly Sunday worship bulletins along with her husband Jack. Jack and Marlene preferred serving their Lord and His church together and quietly in the background. She enjoyed working in their vegetable and flower gardens and loved to share their produce with others. She passed the winter hours away by working jig-saw puzzles. Marlene was known for her skill in knitting and made slippers for all of her family. She and Jack donated generously to medical research and many other charities.
