Fleasa studied to become a pilot as he had a deep love for aircraft and flying. He was generous to his sisters, had a sense of humor, loved cooking and especially loved his daughters and granddaughter.
He leaves to cherish his memory 2 daughters, Dorothy Arida of Burlington, North Carolina and Tishara Bryant of Lansing, Michigan; granddaughter Amara Arida of Pompano Beach, Florida; parents, Eleaszer, Sr. and Annie Ruth Buycks; 4 sisters, Emma Buycks, Telia Buycks, Jackie Buycks and Pinkie Buycks; 5 brothers, Joseph (Patti) Buycks, Julius Buycks, Quin (Cindy) Buycks, Tracy (Theresa) Buycks, and Tony (Kim) Buycks; 26 nieces and nephews; aunts, Channie Austin of Lansing, Michigan and Pinkie Jean Jones of Montgomery, Alabama; many other relatives and friends including friends at Friendship Manor Apartments and Brandon, who was like a son and dearly loved.

Ja’Quez attended Lansing Eastern High School where he was in the 8th grade. Next year would have been his freshman year in high school.
Ja’Quez “STANK” had the brightest smile of anyone you could know, and it would light up any room. He was intelligent, funny, very handsome, loyal, and an awesome athlete, and did I mention FINE… Ja'Quez was driven and determined to be successful. He was currently in honors math for the past 2 years. Counting was his THANG!! I would call him my little entrepreneur. He knew how to get a few dollars and keep them/flip them. He enjoyed smelling good, looking good, having fun with his friends, loving and bullying his siblings. Ja’Quez was the protector and fighter for his loved ones.
Now he left us to fight for him and ourselves. I love you with all of me, BOI BOI watch over us and keep us safe. Love You Forever And Always, Mom

Obituary Preview: Betty Jewel Oliver was born in Kennett, Missouri on May 15, 1952, to the parents of John Oliver and Bessie Mae Oliver. She was the seventh daughter of twelve girls. She departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her residence.
In the first half of 1965, she relocated to the state of Michigan alongside her sister, Johnnie Oliver. Later, in the same year, she went back to Missouri to persuade her parents to move to Michigan. Her whole family packed up and moved without reservation. Betty attended Christ Temple Church with her family under the leadership of Elder William H. Warren. She was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gave the utterance at a young age. She attended Lansing School District and furthered her education by obtaining a degree in cosmetology. She was an entrepreneur to her heart, and it propelled her to start her very own cleaning service. She was O.C.D. Years later, she restored her love for cosmetology by restoring wigs. She named her new business Wearing Instant Glamour (WIG). She was blessed with four children from two marriages and had a deep love for her family, including her grand pup Preacher and nephew pup Charley. Betty was known for her strong, outspoken personality and was never one to hold back. Although she was short in stature, she was sassy, and she always said what she meant and meant what she said. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she enjoyed reading the Bible, repairing wigs, and doing crossword, word searches, and jigsaw puzzles. She was real and one of a kind.

Sharon was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. She was employed by Borgess Medical Hospital, until moving to Lansing, Michigan in 1982, where she became employed by St. Lawrence Hospital. Sharon accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at Second Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, under the leadership of Pastor Bernis Warfield Sr. After moving to Lansing, she joined Union Missionary Baptist Church, and began working with the Puppet Ministry.
Sharon is survived by 3 sons, Adonis Brooks, Richard Brooks, and James (Gloria) Powell; 25 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Colette (Edward ) Woods of Lansing, Michigan and Vanessa Sutton of Hillsborough, New Jersey; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives including 3 young boys from Sudan that were fostered by Sharon, and friends.

Tim attended and graduated from Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan and later attended Lansing Community College. He worked several places until he became a cook at Michigan State University, where he worked until his illness prevented him to. He also worked as co-operator of Boss Hog Barbecue.
Tim was a former member of Paradise Baptist Church. He united in marriage to Kelly Lafeve on Saturday, May 11, 2013. They attended Walk in Truth Ministries until his illness became more severe. Tim loved cooking BBQ, bowling, and family functions. He was one of the comedians of the family and would always be able to put a smile on your face. He fought a good fight and was at peace as he shared his last requests with his wife, Kelly, brother, Kenny, and dear cousin, Lois Davis-Thomas.

His father asked his sister, Geraldine to care for him and he came to Lansing, Michigan in 1999 to live with her and her late husband, Deacon Ray Potter, Jr. After arriving in Lansing, Eugene worked at the Michigan State University Kellogg Center in the kitchen for a few years. He later began a job at Peckham, Inc. Eugene was involved in many programs and many opportunities were available for him in the community. Obituary Preview: On the evening of Monday, March 25, 2024, Shirlene Eikner was called home to join her Father in Heaven, at the age of 90 years old. She was born Monday, July 10, 1933, to Charles Finley and Alene Jackson in Gainesville, Texas. Shirlene and Fred Eikner met and realized that they were meant to spend their lives together. They wed in 1951 and Shirlene became the mother of four children, grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 8, and great-great-grandmother of 1. She was proud of her family as was evidenced by the way that she cared for them. They were always “put together,” shoes shined with clothing neat and matching, never a hair out of place! The whole family was spit shined and polished! Shirlene was a lovely wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother!
During the holidays she welcomed the family home to celebrate. Whenever there was a need she was there to meet it, always willing to do what she could to keep her family together.
Shirlene worked and retired from United States Postal Service Management, in Lansing. While there her goal was always to “get the mail out on time,” and that she did! She was strong, wise, loving, kind and had the sweetest smile. You could feel the blessing of her support upon you wherever you went.
In retirement Shirlene was very active, traveling with friends and family, working out at the “Y” three days a week, and playing bridge with her friends on Mondays! Her friends played a very important role in her life. When the Covid shutdown occurred, Shirlene reached out to the family to join her at home for companionship. We responded to the call surrounding her with love and support.
After a time, illness took over her body, but it did not take over who she was a beautiful, strong, giving, and loving person.
She leaves to mourn her loss, her daughters, Beryl and Sheryl, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and a host of relatives and friends.
Shirlene was preceded in death by her husband Fred; son, Fred Jr., and daughter, Callie; parents, Charles and Alene; and brother, Don Finley.
The Family of Mrs. Shirlene Eikner will be holding a Celebration of her life will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 4:00 pm, Hudsonville Congregational Church of Christ, 4950 32nd Avenue, Husdonville, Michigan 49426.

Prior to her health issues, Sharon worked for the Secretary of State for many years, and she was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church services in person, and when her health took a turn, she would faithfully watch church online each and every Sunday.
