Obituary Preview: Regina “Jean” Tortoriello (nee Hensey), passed away peacefully on May 16, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born in Pittston, PA, raised in Newark and a graduate of West Side High School (1951).  After high school, Jean worked as a secretary at Western Electric before marrying Pat, moving to Irvington and starting their family.
In 1971 they moved to Parsippany where they lived the rest of their lives. In the 1980’s she returned to work at AT&T and Lucent Technologies as an Executive Assistant until her retirement.
Jean is remembered fondly by all for her crossword, trivia and candy crush expertise as well as her sense of humor and excellent memory.
She and Pat welcomed all to their home for many Thanksgivings and other family gatherings ensuring the atmosphere was festive and food plentiful. Their patio and pool set the backdrop to 4th of July picnics and visits from family and friends all summer long. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years, Pasquale “Pat” Tortoriello, parents, Daniel and Catherine Hensey, and sisters, Mary Miele, Ann Anderson, and Dorene Santaniello, and brothers Daniel and Robert. She is survived by their five children: Regina
Hakes (John), Patrick (Karen), Stephen (Marion), Susan Keever (Andy), Cathy. She is also survived by their 13 grandchildren: Shane, Shannon, and Shelby Hakes; Patrick (Megan), Jennifer Andris (Ronnie), Katie Richman (Alex), and Amy Tortoriello; Stephen II, Nicholas, and Louis Tortoriello; Daniel, Thomas, and Joseph Keever, 3 great-

She was a homemaker, who loved her children and grandchildren as well as her extended family members.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Sr., her daughter, Jacquelyn and her sister, Frances Burke.
Surviving are her five sons: Robert J. Jr, Edward F., Thomas G., Joseph F., and James E.; her daughters: Ruth I. Kanaley and Frances M. Kanaley; her cherished 12 grandchildren. 10 great-grandchildren and her 1 great great-grandchild.

Gloria is predeceased by her late husband: Edward "Eddie" who passed away on 12/4/2023.
Survivors include her sons: Glenn E. and his wife Jennifer; Kevin, and Sean and his wife Sigal; her step-son: Edward Williams and his wife Alexis; her brother: Jack Morgan; and her sister: Ruth Morgan. Gloria is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly called her Grammy.

Carol worked as a meat wrapper with Stop and Shop in Morris Plains, NJ for many years before retiring in 2017.
Carol also serviced as a shop steward for her store with Union 464A. She serviced in multiple official roles with the Boonton Ladies Auxiliary, an organization near and dear to her heart. She was a member of the Denville Senior Citizen’s Association and enjoyed the many trips and functions with the association.
Carol was full of life and love for her family, friends, and her many 4 legged friends that would stop by each and every day for treats while on their daily walks. Carol was the true definition of happiness.
She is predeceased by her parents: Alexander B. Klindt and Thelma (nee- Roff) Klindt; her two brothers John and Alexander; and her daughter- in -law: Eileen Barnish.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 44 years: Gerald Barnish; her stepsons: David Barnish and wife Michelle and Michael Barnish; her grandchildren: Lisa Snowden, Christine Maupin and husband Tim, Matthew Barnish, Sean Barnish and wife Nikki; Kathryn Barnish, and great-granddaughter Madison Maupin: her Aunt Barbara Neth; and her “Adopted Family” The Cerbos. Frank, a devoted family man, passionate angler, skilled handyman, and beloved dog owner, peacefully passed away on April 24, 2024 at the age of 81.
Frank was the patriarch his family, radiating love, kindness, and wisdom to all who knew him. His unwavering dedication to his loved ones was evident in every moment spent together, as he cherished the simple joys of family gatherings and the jokes he told in their company.
But his love extended beyond human form; Frank found solace and companionship in his faithful canine, Bella. They shared a great deal of time together, forging a bond like no other.
Among his many passions, fishing held a special place in Frank's heart. He found joy in casting lines aside tranquil lakes and he found peace in the serenity of nature's embrace.
Equally adept with a fishing rod as he was with a hammer and nails, Frank was a skilled handyman who took great pride in his home improvement projects. He approached each task with dedication and craftsmanship, leaving behind a legacy of love and care in every corner of his home.
Frank's memory will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will continue to inspire us in the laughter of his grandchildren, the warmth of his home, and the gentle ripple of the waters he so dearly loved.
May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his wife Maddy and beloved Bella, casting lines in the tranquil waters of paradise for all eternity. he is also pre-deceased by his son, Jeffrey.

Richard spent two years in Pope Pius high school and six years at St John's seminary in Montour Falls and finished up his education at Catholic University in Washington, DC.
Richard was a social worker at Catholic Charities. He was also a corporate trainer at ATT. He married his wife Carol in 1973 He was a parishioner at St. Peter's Church in Parsippany and served as lector, director, and eucharist minister. He will be dearly missed by Carol and his brothers, sisters, and family.
His departure from this world has left a void in the lives of all who knew him, and we will forever cherish the memories we made together.
He is predeceased by his father: Eugene A Trapp; his mother: Regina M. (nee- Diekhaus) Trapp and his brothers: Robert & George Trapp.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife: Carol A (nee- Moore) Trapp; his brothers: Thomas & his wife Michele, James & his wife Linda, and Donald; his sisters: Marilyn Rogalski & her husband Bernard, Claire Kwiatkowski & her husband Gordon, and Marjorie Seligmuller & her husband Ronald. Donald Michael McHugh - January 20, 1946 - April 20, 2024

Obituary Preview: It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Donald M. McHugh, age 78, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Don passed away on April 20, 2024, following an unforeseen heart attack. Don was raised in East Hanover, New Jersey as the youngest of 4 children. Don attended high school at Seton Hall Prep where he excelled in all his classes (as well as baseball, poker and pinochle). A true Seton Hall boy, he went on to attend Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Law School, where he earned his accounting degree and Juris Doctorate. Don worked his way through college and law school as a milkman and by selling monuments for McHugh Memorials. Following law school, Don decided to practice law solo but eventually was joined by his legal partner and formed “McHugh & Macri.” Don practiced there until his retirement at age 73.
While Don began his legal career focused on Real Estate law, he became an early pioneer of the practice of Elder Law, becoming a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) and President of the NJ Chapter of NAELA (the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys). He was also the chair of the Elder/Disability Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and chair of the New Jersey Medicaid regulation committee. A frequent author and lecturer on Elder Law to civic groups and professional legal organizations, he was also a member of the prestigious NAELA Council of Advanced Practitioners.
There was nothing that meant more to Don than family. Don met the love of his life, Patricia (Wheelan) McHugh, at the early age of 15 whom he married and raised three daughters with. Don and Pat were true life partners and enjoyed playing golf, going to the casino, playing cards, and mostly each other’s company. He was the proud “Pop Pop” to five granddaughters whom he loved dearly. The girls will all have wonderful memories of fishing and tubing with him on his boat at Lake Culver.
Donald was predeceased by his parents: Terence J. McHugh and Elizabeth Clare (nee- Fay) McHugh, and his siblings: Terence McHugh, William McHugh and Elizabeth (nee-McHugh) Ligos.
Donald is survived by his wife: Patricia (nee-Wheelan) McHugh of Morristown, NJ and Delray Beach, FL; his daughters: Colleen (nee-McHugh) Seneca of Chester, NJ, Charlene McHugh of Fanwood, NJ, and Shannon (nee-McHugh) Price of Melrose, MA; his son-in-laws Rooker Price and David Seneca and his grandchildren; Samantha Seneca, Danielle Seneca, Patty McHugh, Caitlin Price and Bridget Price.

Born in Bronx, NY, Angelo spent years living in Leonia and Lake Hiawatha before making Montville his home 25 years ago. A proud veteran, Angelo served in the United States Navy during World War II and received an honorable discharge.
After his military service, Angelo was employed at Brogan Cadillac in Totowa, where he worked for many years until his retirement.
Angelo was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen, and his son, Michael.
He is survived by his sons, Steven and his wife Ella, and Kevin and his wife Angela Haviland. Angelo is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Thomas, Samantha, and Gabrielle.
Angelo will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his enduring kindness.

domino’s, board games, and spending time with her dear friends. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family for the holidays. Even after reluctantly giving up hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas, she still prepared her traditional holiday dishes and never forgot to bring her grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s
favorite pepperoni and “Monkey” bread. Anne was a kind and loving woman, who constantly put her family first. She had a special bond with her siblings, nieces, and nephews and looked forward to the family’s yearly
reunion. Anne lived her life to the fullest, never complained and. was quick to win the hearts and
respect of all who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her. She will be missed. She was the loving mother of John Purcaro, Rick Purcaro, and Jim Purcaro; cherished “Grammy” to John A. Obituary Preview: Loretta Joan (nee-Betz) Krug passed away on Wednesday April 10, 2024 surrounded by family at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover. She was 85.
Loretta was born and raised in Newark NJ. She came from a large family of 11 children and was the oldest, so from a very early age she worked hard to care for the people in her life that she loved.
She married the love of her life James Francis Krug on March 30th, 1957 and was married for 52 years when he passed away in 2009.
Loretta and James started their life together in Newark and eventually settled in White Meadow Lake where they raised their family.
They also spent many happy years in Succasunna NJ, Florida, Toms River NJ and most recently Loretta was again a resident of Succasunna NJ.
Loretta was a homemaker who was dedicated to taking care of her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Before getting sick Loretta was full of life and you would rarely find her sitting still. She was a great dancer and loved music. In her younger years she enjoyed dance competitions but even into her 70s you would find her out and about dancing to live bands and DJ’s.
She was an amazing cook and loved to bake. Through the years she catered countless events, both for work and just to help a neighbor, friend or family member who was throwing a party and didn’t know where to start. If you were ever lucky enough to try any of her baked goods, you would be looking to find out when she was baking next.
Loretta was loving, kind and giving. She loved her children and her grandchildren more than anything. And when her grandchildren had children… well that was icing on the cake. She told anyone and everyone at any chance she could get, about how fortunate she was to have 14 great grandchildren ranging from the ages of 18 years old to 4 months.
Survivors include her daughters: Susan J. Schmitt and her husband William; Kathy Spiropoulos and her husband Bobby; her son: James F. Krug Jr; her nine grandchildren: Danielle, Kyle, Anthony, Christopher, Angelica, Ashley, Dimitri, Zachary, and Jenna; Loretta is also survived by her fourteen great-grandchildren: Brianna, Braeden, Makenzie, Kameron, Aubrie, Mason, Emma, Anthony, Zoe, Zachary, Sofia, Joey, Olivia, and Mila.

Cynthia A. Schleifer - March 28, 1958 - April 01, 2024

She was born on March 28, 1958 in Kearney, NJ to Henry and Gladys Babinski. She was a longtime resident of Whippany, graduating from Whippany Park High School in 1976 and County College of Morris in 1978. She married Kenneth Schleifer on August 20, 1983.
Cindy worked as a Senior Statistical Analyst at Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical Company. She continued working for Warner Lambert as a fitness instructor. After retiring from Warner Lambert, Cindy continued as a fitness instructor, working at the Metrowest Jewish Community Center in Whippany and as the Senior Fitness Instructor for Hanover Township. Cindy was part of the Hanover Township Fitness Team that won the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute Wellness Campaign’s Healthy Town to Watch in 2016.
Many Whippany residents could see Cindy and her award winning dog, Takoda, walking all over town in any weather. After their dog show career, Cindy and Takoda became certified providers for Pet Therapy. The pair visited many nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities and schools. Cindy and Takoda were inducted into the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association Animal Hall of Fame for their therapy work in March 2008.
Cindy is survived by her husband, Kenneth.
Visitation will be Friday April 5, 2024 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054. He was a member of several coin clubs in the area and was a "champion" when it came to selling raffle tickets for the clubs at their annual coin shows. He also rekindled his hobby of toy trains, making beautiful village/train displays at Christmas to the delight of his grandchildren.
Lee was so proud of his children and stepchildren but his absolute joy were his and Susan's 9 grandchildren who range in age from 23 to 3. He was always looking forward to seeing them and having family gatherings.
His departure from this world has left a tremendous void in the lives of all who knew him, and we will forever cherish the memories we made together.
Lee is predeceased by his parents: William Ryerson and Wanda (nee- Rybaczyk) Ryerson; his stepson: Evangelos “Evan” Moutafis; his brother: Gary Ryerson.
Lee is survived by his wife: Susan P Ryerson; his sons: Lee Ryerson Jr. and wife Kelly and John R. Ryerson; his daughters: Stacy Ryerson and Jessica Skrocki and husband Michael; his stepson: Adam Moutafis and wife Nicolette; his grandchildren: Caitlin, Kaydence, Skylar, John Jr., Gavin, Sophia, Addison, Violet and Gabriel.

Al was born in Jersey City and grew up in Ridgefield Park, NJ. With the exception of residencies in New York City and Northampton, MA, Al lived the major portion of his long life in the Garden State.
Albert proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-53 during the Korean War.
Self-employed for much of his career, Al was a manufacturer’s rep in the consumer goods industry, most notably in cosmetic and health-care packaging. Although officially “retired”, Al never stopped working and was actively representing various companies and developing a proprietary item up to the day he fell ill.
Central to any story of Al Olivier’s life is his passion for music. From an early age Al was involved in music, singing and tap dancing as a small child in Hudson County saloons (for beer money for his parents)! From high school on, piano was his main instrument and jazz his genre. Admired for his stride piano style, Al developed a strong association and close friendship with Barry Harris, the esteemed BeBop pianist. Al regularly attended Harris’ Jazz Workshops in Manhattan and helped Barry produce many Jazz Ensemble Concerts.
In addition, Al attended the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop in Manhattan for several years and under its auspices, co-wrote a musical version of William Saroyan’s The Cave Dwellers. Al studied classical piano under Joseph Prostakoff and Sophia Rosoff and was on the board of the Abbey Whiteside Foundation for many years. Not a day passed without music for Al, including his last.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne, & his children: Mary Kamalski (husband Russell), Joseph (wife Tresa), Daniel (wife Elizabeth), Jeanne Gamba, Camille, Eleanore (fiance Alexander Papathomas), and grandchildren: Andrew, Julia, Michelle and Alyssa.

He graduated from Our Lady of The Valley High School where he participated in many musicals, often times as the lead role.
After high school, Bill joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. After serving his country, he began a lifelong career with the Orange Police Department. As a young officer he most enjoyed walking the beat where he was able to interact and help his community. After his retirement he stayed on as a dispatcher.
He was also a member of the American Legion post 155 in Whippany and the VFW post 376 in Orange.
Bill met the love of his life Eileen in 1958. They raised their family together and enjoyed taking many memorable trips around the world with their friends. He would often tell his family how lucky he was to have met Eileen; They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage together.
Bill will always be remembered for being a genuine and caring person. He was known for his sense of humor, practical jokes and telling stories about his time as a police officer.
He found humor and joy in everything he did. He loved his family more than anything and felt great happiness spending time with them, especially on Thanksgiving.
He will be missed dearly by the many lives he has impacted so positively over his long and wonderful life; including his friends and family both in New Jersey and in England, his friends at his favorite pub Z’s, former colleagues at the Orange P.D and his beloved dog Daisy.
He is survived by his wife Eileen A. (nee-Halpin); his son: William J. Sautter and his wife, Marge; his daughter: Teresa A. Cecere; his four grandchildren: Andrew and his wife, Debra, Joseph, Kayla and Kimberly and four great-grandchildren.

Lu Anne was born December 8, 1946, in Paterson, NJ to Charles and Florence. She attended Ramapo Regional High School where she was a cheerleader and was awarded Miss Tercentenary Queen.
It was while attending Muhlenberg College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree, that Lu Anne met the love of her life Don Rothrock. It was only two weeks after graduating in 1968 that Don and Lu Anne married.
Lu Anne had a passion for helping others, beginning her professional career in 1968 teaching second grade at Littleton School in Parsippany, NJ. Lu Anne and Don settled in Montville, NJ in 1972 where they raised three children and have resided ever since. Lu Anne was an active member of the Lake Valhalla Club for over 50 years where early on she loved playing tennis and socializing with her friends.
After stepping away from teaching for over 10 years to focus on her children she returned to the profession at ECLC in Chatham, NJ. Lu Anne cared tremendously for the hundreds of students she taught during her time there and developed wonderful relationships with her fellow staff.
Though being paralyzed at the age of 45 Lu Anne’s tremendous altruism would not be stymied, with her continuing teaching at ECLC through 2007 and always caring for her family and radiating kindness to all she met.
Outside of teaching Lu Anne had passions for chocolate, spending time with friends, finding great deals shopping, and traveling, where Lu Anne and her family would make annual memories in Cape May, NJ. Whether it was playing bridge, book club or one of the other numerous social events Lu Anne had a large group of friends which tremendously enriched her life.
Lu Anne’s unending courage, generosity, and love in the face of over 30 years of being paraplegic has been an inspiration to all who met her. She will be dearly missed, yet the love she spread and memories created shall live on in the lives she enriched.
She is survived by her loving husband, Don; her sons: Geoff and his wife Stacia; Eric and his wife Jean; her daughter: Zoe Rothrock; her brother: Don Voelkner and his wife Lorraine. Lu Anne is also survived by her four cherished grandchildren: Jennifer, Nora, Ian and Clara.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation 5-8pm Tuesday, March 26 at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. Her memorial service will be held on 10:30am Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Boonton, 513 Birch Street Boonton, NJ.
