His determination and mental toughness was a testament to his character, demonstrating that there was nothing he couldn't overcome or a task he couldn’t accomplish. He was a devoted husband and father that went above and beyond for his family. His kids spent many hours making memories with him in the fields riding along on combines and tractors or playing in trucks full of rice. He was never too tired to meet Gwen and the kids at the fishing pond after work. He also loved spending time with his large extended family, sharing a “cold one” and just “shooting the bull”. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Gwen, whose unwavering love and support sustained him through life's challenges. Together they faced so many obstacles but, through it all, their marriage exemplified the vows they exchanged on their wedding day. Paul leaves behind his three children: daughter Amber Kroschel and husband Roger, son Brice Fief and girlfriend Jennifer Larson, son Cole Fief and wife Rebekah, and grandchildren Abbey, Max, and Case Kroschel, Oliver Fief, and Lexi, Michael, and Reed Fief, who loved their Pops to the moon and back. Paul is also survived by his beloved mother, Fostine "Tennie" Fief, and his siblings: Jennifer Dubois (Dan), Karen Knighton, Kim McCormick (Michael), and Freddie Fief. He was also cherished by his father-in-law Benjamin Filipp, sisters-in-law Shay Roberts (Gene), Roxanne Walch (Tim), Lanette Roye (Joey) and Linda Filipp, brother-in-law Kevin Filipp (Kristin), and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he held dear and loved spending time with.
Paul’s family would like to say “thank you” to Jeri, Angela, Kari and Ashley who were instrumental in his care during this past year.

Andy was born December 24, 1971, in Richmond, TX to Mary and David Christian, Sr. and passed away peacefully with his beloved wife and son at his side on April 18, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with prostate cancer. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend, whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a pilot for Garrett Flying Service in Danbury, where he was employed for over 30 years. In his spare time, he had a successful hay business and raised cattle.
Andy's life was enriched when he found his soulmate in Melanie Ramos, whom he married on December 4, 1999. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Andy's love for his son, Drew, was immeasurable. He took immense pride in watching him grow; his love and support knew no bounds. His life was a testament to his many talents and passions. His love for the outdoors was so profound that he pursued careers as an underwater welder and a pilot, always seeking to defy gravity. His dedication and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and clients, culminating in a Lifetime Achievement award as Pilot of the Year from TAAA-Texas Agricultural Aviation Association in January. He was also a proud member of the AOPA-Airline Owners and Pilot’s Association and the Knights of Columbus - Danbury Council 9817.
Andy lived a life with a serving heart. He faithfully served God, his community and many others. He donated countless hours to help feed America through the Share the Harvest Program, an organization started by his mentor Jacko Garrett which is a major supplier to the Houston Food Bank and distributes around 10 to 11 million servings of rice annually. His faith was very important to him, and he converted to Catholicism after he married Melanie. As soon as Andy became a member of St. Anthony’s, he joined the Knights of Columbus, where he proudly served and felt honored to be a member. He was a Eucharistic minister and gave his testimony to others that were interested in joining the Catholic faith through the RCIA program. He never missed an opportunity to be outside, living life to the fullest.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, David Christian, Sr. and mother-in-law Marta Ramos. He is survived by his wife, Melanie Ramos Christian of Danbury; son, David Andrew “Drew” Christian III of Danbury; mother, Mary Christian of Rosharon; his sisters, Kelly (Luke) Atchison and Leigh Jones; his sister-in-laws Mandy Ramos and Melissa (Gilbert) Romero; and many nieces and nephews. His family also included his mentor and father figure, Bob Garrett, and Will Garrett, his life-long friend and co-worker, who was like a brother to him.
Even though Andy was taken from this earth early, he lived his life, each day and each moment, to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. May he rest in peace, knowing that so many loved and cherished him.
We thank the following: Dr. Jana and PA Jodie from MDA League City for their guidance and support over the last three years, especially in his final days, when they answered numerous phone calls and emails; Michelle Meador, his home health nurse, who became invaluable the last three weeks; and Toni Herron, who has devoted countless hours to our family and helped watch Andy in his final weeks.

Marcelline Ann Blaha - July 26, 1931 - April 17, 2024

Departed: 04/17/2024 (Angleton)
Obituary Preview: Heaven gained a precious angel on Tuesday, April 17, 2024 when Marcelline Ann Pavlicek Blaha went to her eternal home to be with Jesus. Marcelline, or MeMaw to many, carried the light of Christ into every interaction she had and left each life she touched feeling brighter and more loved.
Marcelline was born on July 26,1931 in Moulton, Texas where she grew up on her family's farm and attended school. She loved sports, music, and dancing. It was at a local dance that she met Bernard Blaha, and at first sight he declared to a friend that he would marry that girl! Marcelline and Ben married on November 14, 1955 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Praha, Texas and settled in Angleton soon after.
Marcelline helped to run the family business, Blaha Air and Heat Service, for over 40 years, a legacy that she proudly watched her sons continue. She was an active member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Angleton community.
While a great deal of her focus was on raising her 7 children, she impacted countless “bonus children”. Her home was always open to friends and family who wanted a snack, a good game of pool, warm conversation, or a soft pallet to sleep on. She was a fantastic cook, and there was no burden that a trip to Memaw’s for a chocolate chip cookie, a slice of apple strudel, or a bowl of Bluebell couldn’t fix. Marcelline had a beautifully unique way of not only making people feel welcome but also genuinely wanted at all times. Her home had an ever-revolving door of friends and family, and on any given day you could find a good sports game on the TV, the smell of something cooking, and the sound of laughter and camaraderie filling the house. MeMaw loved to laugh and was known to tease and be silly just to send the room into a fit of giggles.
When life slowed down, Marcelline enjoyed taking in the beauty that God brings through nature. She fully appreciated watching the hummingbirds and songbirds each day while humming to a good country or Czech song and sitting with her precious children who cared for her.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter Karen Rhodes and husband Nick of Lorena, son Alan Blaha and wife Amy of Kerrville, daughter Gwen Fuchs of Sweeny, son Glenn Blaha of Angleton, daughter Denise Gayle and husband Boo of Cisco, son Wayne Blaha of Angleton, and daughter Renee Talbot and husband Layne of College Station, 44 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother-in-law, John Blaha and wife Betty of Smithville, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernard J. Blaha, her parents, Julia Gieptner Pavlicek and Frank K. Pavlicek, brothers Franklin (Jessie), Otto, and George Pavlicek, and sisters Julia Kainer (Edward), Eugenia Darilek (Jerome), and Georgiann Barta (Louis), great-grandson Pacey Clayton, and son in law Michael Fuchs. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Anastasia Blaha, brothers and sisters-in-law Ethlyn Michalk (Walter), Eleanora Reiss (Henry), and Paul Blaha (Betty) as well as nieces Linda Darilek Nettles and Genie Cook.
Marcelline’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. A visitation will be held at Palm’s Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the praying of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 26 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Praha, Texas and she will be laid to rest in Praha Catholic Cemetery.
The family would like to express a special thanks to First Choice Hospice Care for their ongoing loving care and support to our family. Marcelline’s earthly presence will be greatly missed, but the family finds comfort in knowing that she is healed to perfection in her eternal home with Christ.

He was an altar boy for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, Louisiana. Russ was a Carpenter by trade and built two homes for his wife and children. He and Helen had a small family-owned business, and he obtained his license to prepare taxes. They owned several rental properties and a small apartment complex. He retired in 2000 from his construction position.
He loved keeping a meticulous yard. Dad would ask us to mow and after you were done, and you didn’t mow correctly he would mow it again. When he had to give up his lawnmower it took a toll on him. After the death of Helen, his health began to fail. He loved to sit outside and watch the day go by (sometimes through the back of his eyelids). He sang karaoke during family Christmases, went camping with the Campbells, went crabbing, he loved to play baseball and was a great center fielder, loved to bowl and played cards. He loved to watch westerns, old and new, and sporting events. He could also be found sitting on the sideline at his kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids sporting events. He loved his family. His health continued to fail, and he had to give up driving his favorite vehicle, a white GM 3500 long bed truck. He was so proud of it. Then he had to go live with Colleen, Cheryl and Brian. He hated losing his independence. Ruston was such a great role model- loyal, hardworking, believed in God. We will miss the blessing at each and every meal. God gained a great Angel.

Austin Wade Hinesley - January 14, 2014 - April 11, 2024

Departed: 04/11/2024 (Angleton)
Obituary Preview: Austin Wade Hinesley, 10, of Angleton left this world and went on to his forever home on April 11, 2024. Austin was diagnosed with Stage IV, High-Risk Neuroblastoma at the age of 5 and put on a brave face from the very first moment. Even though Austin was taken from us before his time, he lived his life to the fullest every single day. From the moment Austin was born, we knew he was destined for great things -- and he did not disappoint.
Austin’s life journey began on January 14, 2014, in Houston, TX when he was born to Jamie and Kristin (Bolten) Hinesley. Austin attended Rancho Isabella Elementary in Angleton and was passionate about Math, Science, Reading, Robotics and PALS. And not only was he a PALS member, he was also their Vice President and conquered that role because of his maturity and decision making skills.
Austin enjoyed playing video games, VR games, watching YouTube, playing cards, dominoes, pool, chess and board games…Monopoly was his favorite and he enjoyed nothing more than buying all the property and building hotels while watching his PawPaw go bankrupt.
Austin was an avid hunter and fisherman that made grown men jealous. He spent every minute at home on the water or in the woods. He would come home after a 5-day chemo cycle and jump out of the car, grab a gun and fishing pole and run straight to his pond and stay there till sunset. He was certainly blessed with a gift and it wasn’t often he missed a shot or a catch. He was a sharpshooter and single-handedly harvested many large game animals on some amazing hunting adventures he was blessed to take part in. He loved spending time on his PawPaw and Nana’s dock baiting his own hook, casting his own line and landing his own catch.
If Austin wasn’t fishing, hunting or gaming, you’d find him exploring his country neighborhood on his 4-wheeler. And if he wasn’t off exploring, he was jumping hills throughout the yard, testing his mother’s patience and making his father proud!! When nighttime fell, he was always first inside to shower and set up the living room for a family movie night.
He was a valiant warrior with a tenacious spirit. Everything he did, he did with courage, determination, strength and confidence. Even when his parents were feeling weak, Austin conveyed the right message to help rebuild their spirit and remind them that their family was going to be ok. He had an unimaginably strong connection with the Lord at a very early age and had never lost his faith. No matter what obstacles they were faced with, Austin always knew God would get him and his family through it.
He had a kind, caring heart and gentle “old soul” that encouraged those he loved and those he met along the way.
Austin was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, Effie Frances Henry, Bobby Hinze, Deroy Bolten, Hettie and T.D. Falk; James Hinesley Sr., Al and Dorothy Roach, and Roland Wright.
Left to treasure his memory are his Parents, Jamie and Kristin Hinesley; Brother, Kase Hinesley; Sister, Kimber Hinesley; Grandparents, Dusty and Susan Bolten, Jimmy and Vickie Hinesley; Aunts and Uncles, Chance and Wendy Bolten, Dusty and Cassie Bolten, Todd and Jennifer Hinesley, and Phillip Hinesley. Cousins, Brayden and Jaxon Bolten, Aubrey Bolten, TJ Hinesley, Justin Hinesley and numerous other family members and friends.
Honorary pallbearers are the Rancho Cyber Squad Robotics Team.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM and the services will follow, beginning at 12:00 PM.

Lawrence Dale Lewis - July 23, 1943 - April 10, 2024

Departed: 04/10/2024 (Angleton)
Obituary Preview: Lawrence Dale Lewis Aka “Larry” “L.D.” “PawPaw” & “Grandpa” July 23, 1943 – April 10, 2024
Defying so many odds for dozens of years, he made it to over 80 years on this planet. Larry left his earthly body while laughing with friends at a local cafe this past Wednesday morning. He loved to socialize and have a good talk with just about anyone. He was also a wonderful artist who passed his talents and skills on to the next generations. He had a life-long love for learning about any subject you could name. He tried his hand at various hobbies and art mediums throughout his life, leaving artwork to beautify the world. He even became a Master Gardener after retiring from the construction industry, as he had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and had a passion for mowing the lawn.
Larry leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Ruby, and four children, Laura, Layna, LynDale, and David, and their families, including 7 granddaughters, Dani, Nikki, Kynda, Jenna, Ana, Addy, and Allie and one great-grandson of whom he was terribly proud, Oliver. They will miss him passing along daily humor and random facts with a twinkle in his eye. His questionable humor and volunteer spirit will be his legacy.
He will be remembered by his grandchildren for many things. For his insatiable cravings for the sweeter things in life, even though he had to sneak them (he wasn’t any good at sneaking). For sharing his love of nature through pictures and articles. For sharing random trivia through texts. For keeping that ol’ truck running. For sending reminders that he’s thinking of them. For never forgetting a birthday (even though he was always reminded behind the scenes). For making up weird words with unique meanings, a language of his own. For playing with them and having pillow fights. For sharing his love for comics, inspiring a love for “The Far Side.” For never seeing him frown.
If your life could be judged with the contents of your phone after you die, we have had a glimpse into his soul. We found pictures of his grandkids, children, plants, nature, and comics. And that’s it. He prioritized what made him happy.
