Obituary Preview: Germantown-Larry P. Grimes, 80, died Monday, April 22, 2024 at Kenton Pointe Care Center in Maysville, KY. He was born in Lexington, KY on August 13, 1943 to the late Leonard P. and Hallie Williams Grimes.
He was a member of Germantown Methodist Church and a lifelong farmer. He owned and operated Twin Oaks Greenhouse and Pay Lake, was a mentor to many children showing livestock, and worked for years as the Floor Manager at King Burley Tobacco Warehouse.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Mitchell Grimes and their children, Leonard Keith (Melissa) Grimes of Brooksville, KY, Rhonda Kaye (Dan) Carpenter of Maysville, KY and Troy Kevin (Lane) Grimes of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Alexis (Brian) Grimes, Lucas Gross, and Dylan Carpenter; and great-grandchildren, Haydon Warner, Cole Fryman and Adeline Gulley.
He is also survived by his sister Martha Hinson and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William “Bill” Grimes and Leona Sutton.
Visitation will be 12:00-2:00pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home in Germantown, KY.
Funerall service will be at 2:00pm at the funeral home.

Randy was a carpenter, loved art, and shared many of his beautiful paintings with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors, which is how he earned his nickname “Mountain Randy”. Randy was a kind, loving, fun soul who never met a stranger. He will be truly missed by all.
Randy is survived by his siblings, Ronald (Genie) Insko of Mayslick, KY, Roy (Martha) Insko of Manchester, OH, Rita Insko of Germantown, and Carla Padgett (Dennis Dice) four nieces and nephews, Josh (Carol) Bess, Aaron Insko, Gena (Marc) Cissna, and Taylor Insko; several great nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Benji.

Larry was a retired lithographer after 30+ years of employment at Tru-color. He attended Brooksville Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching NASCAR, and eating at Frisch’s Big Boy. He was a UK Wildcats fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sister, Carol Vaughn of Liberty; one son, Adrian (Julie) Davis of Liberty; his daughters, Michelle D. Davis of Liberty, Keturah (John) Lunsford of Hillsboro, and Jessica (John) Dickson of Germantown; 8 grandchildren, Alyssa, Adam, Sadie, Logan, Gage, Avery, Zane, and Jada; and one great-grandchild, Walker.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Bryan Dale Davis; three brothers, Vernon Davis, Deward Davis, and Calvert Davis; and four sisters, Velma Mae Davis, Mildred Cochran, Etwell Davis, Faye Woodrum, and Teresa Combs.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 2:00PM at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Cox officiating. Burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
