Daughter of cherished parents Wilton Charles and Helen Firestos Reed and youngest of four daughters, Janet graduated with a triple major and as a Delta Gamma from Kent State University in 1956. She worked at Halle’s Department Store in the millinery department and drove a pink convertible Ford Fairlane before she started a run with the Ford Mustang. She married Jack Rice and together they built a life in University Heights prior to moving to Chardon and then Chesterland, OH.
