Brian Allen Johnson - July 28, 1966 - March 25, 2022

Departed: 03/25/2022 (Harvey)
Obituary Preview: Welcome to the glorious life story of a magnanimous man named, Brian Allen Johnson. He was born July 28, 1966 to Benjamin Allen and Mary Johnson, who both proceeded him in death. He would come to be affectionately known as “Bear” to his friends.
His brilliant mind became evident as a student at Foster Park Elementary School where he skipped a grade due to his scholastic aptitude. He tested into one of the best schools in Chicago, Lindblom Technical High School. He enjoyed playing and watching multiple sports however, he was a member of the Lindblom Eagles baseball team.
Upon graduating high school, he joined his brother Darrell at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale where the infamous stories are endless. “If You Know You Know”! Brian obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. Of course, the academic excellence didn’t stop there as he obtained a Master’s degree from DeVry University.
Throughout his high school journey, he worked in the hospitality industry at the Executive Plaza alongside his mother. He subsequently went on to be a Director at the Ten West hotel. Later, he joined ADT as a sales representative, where he received a 15-year Certificate of Appreciation.
This story would not be complete without his pride and joy, his baby girl, Brianna, born to him and Lysaundra. He was also a loving, charismatic, boisterous, and hilarious sibling, uncle, cousin and friend.
There is a huge void left in the heart of his many friends, such as his band of brothers; Stephen (Peewee), Steve, Barak (Buck), Marcel, Brian (Ice), Ken and much more. One special character in his life story is his first best friend, Derrick “Fly” Hale.
On March 25th, 2022, Brian reached the conclusion of his physical earth-bound story. He will forever be a part of us. If you were lucky enough to have known him, you feel the massive void left in your heart, from this one-of-a-kind “larger than life” soul. His imprint and legacy will supersede his life on this Earth. As he entered the gates of Heaven, he was greeted with open arms by his parents, Big Brother Eric “Cookie,” Uncle Gregory and his grandparents.

Jose Guadalupe Villegas - September 17, 1962 - July 26, 2021

Departed: 07/26/2021 (Harvey)
Obituary Preview: José Guadalupe Villegas age 58 also known as Sanchez to others,  passed away on July 26, 2021 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Just two weeks after the passing of his late father José Guadalupe Villegas age 80 on July 12, 2021.
José Guadalupe Villegas was born on September 17, 1962 in Los Fresnos, Jalisco, Mexico to the now late parents of Jose and Maria Villegas. The second oldest in the family, having 4 brothers Jovenal, Juan(late brother), Chuy, and Alejandro and 5 sisters Maria(Cuca), Sara, Olivia, Helda, and Imelda. At a young age his parents decided to cross the boarder to give their kids a better life. Growing up Jose worked at a factory where they engraved stone for tombstones and grave markers. He enjoyed his job but over the years his hands couldn’t keep up, and he eventually became a stay at home dad - where everyday he can be seen making diner for his wife, kids, and grandkid. He enjoyed watching his sports, new, and telenovela while his grandkids by his side begging for his phone so they can watch videos and play games. Jose loved going to Dunkin Donuts to talk to his friends or just cruising around. He was always living his life happy as he can be. Growing up, Sanchez had health issues including neck cancer, high blood pressure, diabetes,  and problems with his heart and lungs. Despite always having hospital check ups and procedures, he was never alone. His family was always there to support him.
Sanchez married Alejandra Madrigal, being together at least 30 years having two kids Alberto and Kimberly, grandpa to two boys Ayden and Adriel, and a chihuahua named Bella, being an uncle to 35 nieces and nephews. He was loved by many and will be miss by many and he did everything he could to help others, whether it was going to the flea markets with his brother buying tons of random things, baby sitting kids, cooking for family parties which is what he love to do the most. Every weekend Jose would go to  T&J Meatpacking to buy the meat he needed to make Carnitas at his sisters Helda house, and many friends and family would come by to eat and enjoy each others company. He loved to cook, at every family event he can be seen making tamales, carnitas, tacos, menudo, beans, pretty much everything. Always in the kitchen making something, filling up the freezer with tons of food, knowing that he's going to make more before the original batch even ran out. --------------------------------------------
Arrangements entrusted to Olen Funeral Home of Harvey: 15700 S. Emerald Ave., Harvey, IL 60426 (708-331-0654). Visitation for Jose will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 3 pm until 8 pm. What is the purpose of an obituary?

The primary purpose of an obituary is to announce the death of a loved one and provide information about their life, achievements, and surviving family members. It also serves as a way to share condolences, celebrate the person's life, and provide details about funeral or memorial services.

Who writes an obituary?

Obituaries are typically written by family members, close friends, or a funeral home. In some cases, a professional obituary writer may be hired to craft the notice. The writer should have a good understanding of the deceased person's life, personality, and accomplishments.

Can I write my own obituary in advance?

What if I'm not comfortable writing an obituary myself?

If you're struggling to write an obituary for a loved one or yourself, consider enlisting the help of a friend or family member. Alternatively, many funeral homes offer assistance with writing and publishing obituaries as part of their services.

Can I make changes to an obituary after it's been published?

In most cases, it's possible to make corrections or updates to an obituary after it's been published. However, this may depend on the publication or platform's policies. Be sure to check with them before making any changes.
