Paz Jacinto Isidoro - February 03, 1965 - November 18, 2022

Departed: 11/18/2022 (Kentwood)
Obituary Preview: Paz Jacinto Isidoro, 57, of Grand Rapids MI passed away to be with the lord on
November 18, 2022 after a long battle with heart disease. Paz was born on February 3, 1965 to Rodolfo and Filipa Ramos in Manila, Philippines. In 1979, Paz immigrated to the U.S. and graduated from
Kelloggsville High School in 1983. She gained citizenship in May of 1990. Paz was a living embodiment of selflessness, a trait she passed onto her two children, Tommy and Sammy. A single mother, Paz worked incredibly hard to lay
a foundation for her children to build from. She wanted to give them the world. Her display of hard work, sacrifice and love is something her children carry with
them each and every day. It would be an understatement to say Paz loved to gamble. Chances are, you may have bumped into Paz at the casino a few times. She didn’t always have lady luck on her side, but when she did, she always shared her winnings with her family and friends. And although she had a good time at the casinos, she was
never more alive than when she was with her grandchildren. Paz will be dearly missed and remembered by her sons: Tommy (Hillary) and Sammy (Michaela); siblings Rodolfo (Melina), Angelita, Johnny, and Ernesto; and
her 5 grandchildren: Benjamin, Mia, Mercy, Natalie, and Titus.
Paz was predeceased by her parents and brothers Rolando and George. Services to celebrate her life will be held Monday, November 28th at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am followed by a service from 11:00am – 12:30 and

Carla Joy Deemter - May 24, 1965 - November 12, 2022

Departed: 11/12/2022 (Kentwood)
Obituary Preview: Carla Joy Deemter of Holland Michigan, age 57, left this world for a better place November 12 th 2022 during her courageous battle with Breast Cancer. Even though she struggled with the demons of mental illness her whole adult life, she handled the loss of her brother Craig, mother Patricia and father Richard with grace and strength. She drew strength from her faith in Jesus and had the Bible
collection to prove it. There were times in her life when the disease took over, but she always fought
back and we are thankful for the times when the “real Carla” came to the surface. The real Carla was generous, kind hearted, thoughtful and smart. She loved her family and friends unconditionally and was known for literally giving her last dollar to someone who needed it more than her. She enjoyed Bible study, cooking with mom’s cook books, shopping and talking on the phone (sometimes too much, LOL) Carla enjoyed writing letters and became quite famous for her random
letters and cards that she sent to family and friends. Carla will be lovingly remembered and missed by her brother Jon and many friends, cousins, aunts and Uncle Dave. Particularly her aunt Daisy who became her surrogate mom and fielded the random phone calls and helped all she could
for the last 3 years. Jon would also like to thank the team members at ACT and Community Mental Health for all the help over many years. We would have been lost without their help. These dedicated people do some of the most frustrating and often times
thankless work you can imagine. No more pain. No more struggle. No more cancer. No more medication. No more
damn voices in your head. Rest in Peace Carla Joy Deemter

Peter Bowman Spring - August 24, 1940 - November 11, 2022

Departed: 11/11/2022 (Kentwood)
Obituary Preview: We are sad to announce that Peter Bowman Spring died on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Yagiela; his daughters, Kymie and Jolie Spring; grandsons Alek and Tom; his sister, Marge Ferguson; his first wife, Jeanne Spring; his sister-in-law, Ginnie Spring and numerous nieces and nephews. He passed away peacefully at the hospital surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Peter was drawn to music and played saxophone in his high school band. He switched to bass which became his principal instrument and later explored gamba. He earned both a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music at the University of Michigan.
His music career took off in 1967, teaching string bass at Interlochen Arts Academy. Pete's kids remember their dad inviting students and colleagues over to the house They recall their Dad's humor and silliness with regulars like Alan Nagel, Tim Staudacher, Joel Levin and David Holland.
After 10 years, Peter realized that he wanted to switch paths and focus on performing. He landed the Principal Bassist position with the Grand Rapids Symphony Orchestra. He was also an adjunct instructor of double bass at the University of Michigan. He served 36 years in the orchestra before retiring from the GRSO.
Pete loved bicycling, hiking and cross-country skiing with his wife Nancy, though he slowed down these past few years. As he became less physically able, he and Nancy would put together seemingly impossible and beautiful puzzles. He read a voluminous number of books. He supported environmental causes.
Peter's quirky and playful sense of humor was well matched by that of his wife, Nancy. The two were both playing in the symphony when they married in 1984, celebrating their 38th anniversary this past September. They loved to travel, loved a good meal (especially pie and ice cream), going to the ballet and Actors’ Theatre. They were madly in love, and grateful every day that they found each other and made a wonderful life together. There will be an Open House for friends and family on Saturday, December 10, from 3pm-5:30pm at Rosebud 1264 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 https://www.rosebudvenue.com/
