Annie is survived by her boyfriend Del Miller; daughter, Julie Clark Bentley; grandson, Tyler Evans of Lufkin; grandson, Justin Evans and wife Tiffany of Vidor; granddaughter, Megan Evans of Lufkin; and 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Yates and husband Noel of Zavalla; niece, Lisa Cannon of Etoile; nephews, Jody Cook and wife Kimberly of Lufkin, Tom Martin and wife Susan of Lufkin, and John Martin and wife Angie of Central; plus several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Oveta Martin; father, Tom Martin; and brother, John Martin.

Mr. Pope was a devoted husband, father grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed singing old karaoke and fishing. He never met a stranger and enjoyed making people laugh. Mr. Pope proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his daughter, Candi Underwood of Midlothian, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Angee and Tony Owens of Lufkin; son, Bill Pope of Tyler; grandchildren, Austin Underwood, Hailey Underwood, Justin Pope and Elijah Kluza; great-grandchildren, Bryson Pope and McKenzie Pope.

Alfred Jimmy Miranda - November 09, 1952 - October 20, 2021

Obituary Preview: Alfred Jimmy Miranda was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 9, 1952 and died October 20, 2021 at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Miranda and his father Al Miranda.
He is survived by his mother, Bertha Miranda, his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Witherspoon and his niece, Miranda Aleese Witherspoon.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
He served in the US Army from 1971 to 1977. In the early 70s he was stationed in Turkey and his assignment was in the ASA as a CryptoAnalyst.
After being honorably discharged as an SP4 from the army, Jimmy began his thirty-year career with the Dallas Morning News as distributor in Lufkin.
He enjoyed his retirement relaxing out in the country and taking long walks with his beloved dogs.
A favorite subject of conversation were the many travels Jimmy and his sister experienced guided by his mother. This trio traveled through much of the US, Europe, and Mexico.
Jimmy was also known for his quirky sense of humor. The caregivers at the SNG Dialysis Center commented how he often lifted everyone’s mood by saying something humorous.
Jimmy and his family have been members of the First United Methodist church in Lufkin, Texas since 1968.

Linda was a loving wife, aunt and cousin and was retired from Dollar General. She enjoyed cooking, collecting recipes, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Linda was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of almost 49 years, Johnny Wayne Sanford of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmie and Joyce Burnett of Huntington, Hershel and Mary Burnett of Westchester, Pennsylvania; nephews, Bubba Nerren and wife Tamara; Scott Burnett and wife Julie, Keith Burnett, Kevin Burnett and wife Jene, J. C. Laura was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a long-time teacher for Lufkin ISD and Diboll ISD. She loved teaching, karaoke, Loteria and casinos. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding in the side-by-side. She loved being with her family, her boys and cooking. She was the “hostess with the mostest”.
Survivors include her husband, Alberto Morado, Sr.; daughter, Sarah Morado; son, Alberto Morado, Jr.; grandpups, Peanut Morado and Jax Morado; father, Martin Perez; mother, Lupe Perez; brothers, Marcos Perez and wife Anita and Adrian Perez and wife Stacey; sister, Monica Perez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Butch was born November 4, 1958 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Shirley Ann and William Arthur Cantrell. He passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Pinecrest Nursing Home, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Butch was a loving brother and husband. He loved softball and was an avid Astros fan. He was a lifetime member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church. He was employed at Lufkin Industries for 25 years. Butch was very active in Parks and Recreation, and was president of East Texas Umpire Association. He was an Umpire in Chief for Texas State Umpire Association, where he umpired for 2 consecutive Girl’s Fastpitch state tournaments. He will be greatly missed by all.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Smithhart and husband James of Nacogdoches; sons, Gary W. Crawford of Zavalla, Randy Crawford and wife Jana of Zavalla, 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brother, James Tarver of Huntington; sisters, Marine Haag of Hudson, and Francis Bone of Nacogdoches. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Walter Crawford, Earl Kessler, and Donald Ford.
Pallbearers will be her family.

She married R.L. Powell on October 3, 1942 in Lufkin Texas. She and R.L. bought their 1st and only home in 1952 in Hudson, Texas and raised 4 children. They shared a wonderful life together. Doris worked for Whites Warehouse until she retired to spend more time with her grandchildren and R.L. She enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Doris and R.L. Powell were very involved in the Providence Baptist Church and Lancewood Baptist Church. Doris taught Sunday school until she moved to Houston, Texas in 2009 to be with her granddaughter Angelique and her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L Powell; brothers, Hank and Ralph Keels; daughter, Janis Ann Stanley; and great-grandson, Lee Fowler.
Survivors: Son, Robert Wayne Powell of Houston, Texas; Daughter, Gwen (Powell) Collins and husband Jack Collins of Taylor, Texas; Daughter, Peggy Smith of Houston, Texas; and Son in-law, Barry Stanley of New Braunfels, Texas.
Grandchildren: John Collins and wife Sudarat, Angelique (Powell) Burnside and husband Jeff Burnside, Kathy (Collins) Mills and husband Thomas Mills, Joe Keith Fowler, Rene (Powell) Ferguson and husband Todd Ferguson, Chad Stanley, Lori (Fowler) Sluder, Leigh (Stanley) Randall and husband Matt Randall, numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Village Family Practice, Heaven Sent Senior Living and Crossroads Hospice for all their care and support they gave Doris and her family. Doris’ final resting place will be at Moore Cemetery in Groveton, Texas.
