Theresa A. Makosky - July 04, 1929 - May 12, 2024

Departed: 05/12/2024 (Warren)
Obituary Preview: Theresa A. Makosky, 94, of Youngstown, Ohio passed on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Born on July 4, 1929 in Youngstown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Maria Bernard. Theresa had seven brothers and three sisters who also preceded her. Her sister, Eleanor Parillo, who still remains with us, is the last of their large family.
Not long after graduating from Rayen High School, Theresa wed her husband Joseph Makosky in 1952 and they started their own family.
Theresa’s life had many challenges. The biggest of these challenges was the death of her newborn twin daughters. Being diagnosed with breast cancer late in life, then kidney disease and years of dialysis took their toll. Theresa’s brave and courageous decision to stop dialysis showed the strength that was still within her.
Jeanne, Rosemarie and Thomas can never thank enough the caring staff at Fresenius on Javitt Court in Austintown for the wonderful medical care, personal care and affection shown to their mother.
Theresa will be laid to rest at Belmont Park Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends are welcome to join her children in a final farewell.
Theresa was loved and will be missed terribly. At last the pain is over and the family reunion in Heaven with all those she held close in her heart is what she bravely looked forward to.

Charles K. Lewis - November 13, 1947 - April 27, 2024

Departed: 04/27/2024 (Warren)
Obituary Preview: Charles K. Lewis, known to all as Kermit, passed away on April 27, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on November 13, 1947, being the youngest of five rowdy Lewis boys would gear him with the endurance for a lifetime of hard work and the sense of humor to do it all through a smile. Facing the world knowing “you can’t keep a good man down,” Kermit would work the rest of his life with no complaints to provide for his most valued blessing, his family.
Kermit was easily described as a man who simply would not be outworked. A blue-collar guy, who prided himself in doing every job to the best of his ability. He could often be found mowing and meticulously maintaining not only his yard, but others as well.
A selfless man, Kermit was always the first to lend a hand and his work ethic was only outmatched by his humor. Known for his quick wit and storytelling, there was never a dull moment when in his company.
Kermit was a loving father to his three children, Charles Lewis of New Middletown, Jennifer Posta and Diana (Rick) Mullen of New Springfield. His crowning achievement was one that gave him the title of Grandpa and nothing made him prouder than his grandchildren, Madison, Jacey, Cameron, Karigan, Gavin and Brady.
Kermit was preceded in death by his mother and father, Samuel and Anne; and his brothers, Lenerd, Joe, John and Troy Lewis. And proving they truly couldn’t live without one another, his wife of 53 years Susan Lewis who he lost in February. The knowledge of their reunion brings reassurance and contentment to those left behind.
We say goodbye to the hardest working man most of us ever knew, one who firmly believed no rest until you’re off the clock.
We will toast to a life full of love and laughter, sharing stories and memories over a cold beer, some blackberry brandy and finding comfort in knowing his job here is done.
The family would like to sincerely thank Hospice of the Valley for the incredible, compassionate care their father was given. The respect and dignity afforded to him in his final days was truly remarkable and the family cannot begin to express their gratitude.

Mark Edward Moore, Jr. - September 26, 1989 - April 06, 2024

Departed: 04/06/2024 (Warren)
Obituary Preview: Mark Edward Moore Jr., a man whose life was a testament to passion and unwavering faith, left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Born on September 26, 1989, in Phoenix, Arizona, Mark's journey through life was one that inspired and uplifted everyone in his path. On April 6, 2024, in Bristolville, Ohio, Mark completed his earthly journey with believers that sent him off with prayers as he moved on to his next great adventure in heaven with our Yeshua Hamashich, (Jesus Christ).
Mark's life was full of the joy of family connections. He was a beloved husband to Catherine Moore, whom he married on June 4, 2023 at the Peter Allen Inn in Kinsman, Ohio and a proud father to Max, Addie, Jason, and Logan, and a loving and caring brother to James Campbell, Rachel (Brett) Allen. His mother, Kathy Pierce, stepfather, Bob Pierce, and father, Mark Moore Sr., nurtured his spirit and watched with pride as he grew into a remarkable young man. Mark's nieces, Emmalee and Aubree, and his nephews, Little James and Ethan, will remember him as a beacon of light and guidance. His grandparents, Jon and Ruth Campbell of Iowa, Shirley Campbell of Vienna, and his great-grandmother, Shirley of Apache Junction, Arizona, as well as numerous aunts and uncles from Ohio, Arizona, and Iowa, will forever hold cherished memories of Mark's visits and the stories they shared.
Mark overcame obstacles that have crippled many in this life. He was a conqueror. His resilience was something to be sought after. He overcame everything that stood in his way. He was a champion to many. He was a student of life and meant to master all he put his hands to. As well as what it meant to be a loving man of GOD. He was inspiring. He led by example, and he didn’t waver when it came to sharing how he felt. He was a straight shooter with the heart of a giant. His legacy is that of one.
Professionally, Mark was a master of his craft, both as a mechanic and a construction worker. His hands were skilled, and his mind was sharp; he could solve problems with the kind of ingenuity that left his colleagues in awe. He was not just a man who worked with his hands; he was a man who worked with his heart. Mark's involvement in his industry went beyond the day-to-day; he was a mentor and a friend to many, always ready to lend an ear, a helping hand, or offer advice.
Mark's interests were as vast as the great outdoors he so loved. Hunting and fishing were not just hobbies; they were the canvas on which he painted memories with his family and friends. His ability to excel at everything he tried was not borne of mere talent but of a deep-seated passion for life and learning. From woodworking to gardening, from fixing a car to teaching his sister how to mow the yard, Mark was a natural teacher, with the patience and joy of seeing others grow.
What truly defined Mark was his faith-filled approach to life. He believed in the power of hope and the strength of love. His intelligence was matched only by the size of his heart, and his passion for life was infectious. He lived by the words of our Lord Yeshua Hamashiach. Mark embraced every moment as an opportunity to make a positive impact, to learn something new, to enrich the lives of those around him.
As we celebrate the life of Mark Edward Moore Jr., we are reminded that the measure of a life well-lived is not in the accumulation of things, but in the quality of our relationships, the lives we touch, and the love we share. Mark's legacy is not one of silence but one of stories, laughter, and lessons that will continue to resonate through the generations.
Let us honor Mark's memory by living as he did—with courage, with curiosity, and with an open heart. May his memories and influence in our lives continue to guide us, and may we find comfort in knowing that his journey continues beyond the horizon, in a place where the fish always bite and the engines run smoothly, finally. Mark's life was a beautiful journey, and although the physical part of his journey has concluded, the story of his soul is eternal.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Fowler Community Church, with a service and dinner to follow.

He lived with his wife, Bonnie Bryan, in Warren outside of Youngstown, nearly equidistant to most of their close family. In passing, he is remembered fondly by all he leaves behind, and leaves them with lessons given over long years of patience, acceptance, and understanding. These lessons will be held dear and passed on, as will his generosity and love.
The date of his Memorial Service has not yet been set, but will be held in the early summer months when most of his widely extended family will be able to gather and exchange fond stories and speak their final words.
