Charles "Chuck" James Luxton Sr. - December 21, 1949 - February 13, 2024

Departed: 02/13/2024 (Norwalk)
Obituary Preview: Charles “Chuck” James Luxton Sr., 74 of Wilton went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 13, 2024. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Chuck was born in Richland Center, WI on December 21, 1949 to Garold and Viola (Walsh) Luxton.
Chuck grew up in Cazenovia, WI with his three sisters, Patricia Visgar, Shirley (Tracy) Jennings, and Vickie Luxton. He attended grade school at St. Anthonys and later graduated from Weston High School, where his good looks and charm won him the love of his life, Maureen. They spent years exchanging love letters, sneaking out and rolling the car down the hill, and spreading manure. This led to the beautiful life that they would share for fifty-five plus years.
Chuck and Maureen were married June 15, 1968. They led an adventurous life and started young with their family. They had two children, Chuck Jr. and Theresa. As a family they enjoyed traveling cross-country on yearly trips to places like California and many National Parks. Chuck would load his family up in the car and hit the road for camping adventures across the country. He enjoyed his family time swimming, hiking, and seeing all of the sights along the way. Chuck loved to work hard and play hard! As his kids grew up, he would watch them in their many activities and playing sports. Together, Chuck and Maureen were active in their children's lives and always made family a priority, a true labor of love.
All of this continued with their eleven grandchildren. Yes, how blessed from two children to have eleven grandchildren. Chuck loved to tease the grandchildren from little to big, from tickles and raspberries to boyfriends and girlfriends, he was never short of a good laugh. Chuck never passed up an opportunity to watch the grandchildren play a sport, hit a milestone in their faith journey, or any extra curricular activity. As they established these traditions with their grandchildren, it was known to all that Grandma and Grandpa’s house was a place for everyone. Great grandchildren again brought so much joy to Chuck and Maureen. In the most recent years Chuck spent his time with his loving wife, caring for each of his great grandchildren. These little ones were such a large part of life. Grandpa let the great grandchildren lead the way to the sand box, swings, slide, pool, Kabota and anything else to keep moving. Nap time was a favorite for Grandpa as well as the kids, even if they did not know it then.
Chuck was an inspiration to each of his family members. He had faith that could move mountains, love that was beyond measure, and held his family second only to our Lord. Chuck’s faith was very apparent to many. This made him family to all and grandpa to many. He made a connection and touched the lives of so many people. Chuck always had a smile and open arms to every person, he never met a stranger.
Chuck was always a hard worker. He started out on his family farm and worked at the foundry through high school. He spent thirty seven years as a devoted head of Maintenance at the Brookwood School District. Chuck loved his time at school and he connected with so many young people through his years of work. He took pride in the school and the work he did. Chuck had the ability to fix just about anything in the building and out. He also built lasting relationships with the staff and students during his time there. It is not out of the ordinary to hear people still comment on how things were when Chuck was around. The school was not just work for Chuck, it was his passion.
Chuck is survived by his wife Maureen (O’Brien) Luxton; sister Shirley (Tracy) Jennings; daughter Theresa (Terry) Rogalla; daughter-in-law Debbie (Ryan) Luxton-Green; grandchildren Toni (Tim) Ross, Shane (Jessica) Luxton, Briehn (Jesse) Johnson, Dominic (special friend Lina) Luxton, Gabrielle (Jesse) Nevsimal, Bridget (Cory) Ottum, Mckenzi, Nolan, Keira, Alonna, and Trenten Rogalla, Hannah (Nathan) Korish, Cassidy, Jacob, and Colten Green; great grandchildren Grace, Clara Mae, and Jonas Johnson, Emerson, Ensley, Everett, and Eagan Luxton, Audrey, Aileen, Ellis, and Melanie Ottum, Tigue, Torren, Tiernan, and Titus Ross, and Caden Korish. Many special family and friends that he met along the way.
Chuck was preceded in death by his son Charles Luxton Jr., his parents Garold and Viola (Walsh) Luxton, his sisters Vickie Luxton and Patricia Visgar, mother and father-in-law Martin and Thelma (Ott) O’Brien, brother-in-laws John Kutz and Alan Kutz, and nephews Derrick Jennings and Erin O’Brien.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place Monday, February 19, 11:00 am at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Summit Ridge. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Fr. Eric Berns will officiate. Following Chuck's wishes, there will be no visitation.

Departed: 03/02/2021 (Norwalk)
Obituary Preview: Ronald James Hedrick, 85, of Wilton, formerly of Summit Ridge, WI, died peacefully at home, in the arms of his loving wife and three daughters, Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Ron was born November 26, 1935, to George and Frances (Berendes) Hedrick in rural Norwalk. He attended Bohn School, graduated from Sparta High School in 1953 and served in the US Marine Corps from 1956-1959. In Ron’s humble heart he requested that we keep his obituary simple: we feel compelled to add a little extra to pay tribute to a remarkable man-
In 1967, Ron’s life changed. He met a fun-loving girl who became his best friend. July 13, 1968, Ron was united in holy matrimony to Margaret “Peggy” Trainer. They built a beautiful, faithful life on the Hedrick home farm where Ron was born and raised and continued to farm. 52 years of marriage brought them three strong daughters, his pride and joy. “What do I love most about you- everything!” was what he told his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
He was an exceptional baseball player and a die-hard Cub’s fan. Ron was a born leader and a diplomat, serving on the Monroe County Board and as the Ridgeville Town Chairman. He was a life-long Democrat, a proud union man and a dedicated rural mail carrier for 42 years. Kids on his mail route looked forward to the Certs candy he shared.
He was a man of faith who lived his life by the words from the Sermon on the Mount. Ron was a man with high principles who felt compelled to support those less fortunate; he always rooted for the underdog. He was so much more and… “SLTT” (stuff like that there).
Ron is survived by his wife Peg; three daughters and their husbands Denise and Patrick Mulvaney, Jennifer and David Erickson and Jessica and Dillon Denter; grandchildren, Taylor, Katelyn Hedrick and great granddaughter Rory; Max, Jack and Rian Mulvaney; Elle Erickson and Chelsie Hoff; Devery, Dulcey and Daclan Denter; brother Noel Hedrick; sisters Dorothy Warriner, Joan Sullivan, Carolyn Flock and Mary Hulleman; sisters-in-law, Betty Hedrick, Carolette Hedrick, Marcia (Don) Sandeen and Mary Sheppard.

Janet A. Anderson - October 22, 1937 - January 16, 2020

Departed: 01/16/2020 (Norwalk)
Obituary Preview: Janet A. Anderson, 82, of Norwalk, WI, passed away peacefully, Thursday, January 16, 2020, at the Mayo Health Center in La Crosse, WI. Janet was born October 22, 1937, to Charles and Rosina (Laufenberg) Heilman.
She grew up on St. Mary’s Ridge and graduated from Sparta High School. Janet went on to telephone operator school in Chicago, IL. Her first job was in Janesville where she met a handsome Navy man from Blue River, WI, who drove a fancy car. It was the car that first caught her eye. They courted long distance for quite some time. September 13, 1958, Janet married John Anderson on St. Mary’s Ridge.
When Janet moved to Norwalk she worked for “Ma Bell” in the tiny telephone office in town. She later took a job at Fort McCoy, working the switch board for over 52 years as “Operator Number 1.” This was a title that she wore proudly, even her car license plate read OPR 1.
Janet may have been small in stature, but her personality was large as life. She had a spunky attitude and a great love of people. Janet had her own unique style, which was one of the reasons she sold Avon for over 30 years. Her added flair made her a perfect salesperson for nail polish, jewelry and makeup.
She was very civic minded and loved the Norwalk community. Janet was one of the charter members of the Norwalk Lioness Club. She also was very active in the St. Augustine PCCW, Catholic Order of Foresters and an original member of the CCA (“Coffee Clutchers Anonymous”) in Norwalk. She loved this group of women.
Janet loved to read books. Many did not know that she would always read the last page or two before she started a book. She did this so that she could enjoy watching the characters evolve through the book- also to know if she wanted to read it or not. Janet also loved playing solitaire (not on a phone). She had a real passion for music and playing her keyboard and was always so excited to see her grandkids and their babies. Grandma Janet was a baby magnet, related to her or not- she loved them all the same.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Lori (Todd) Ripley of Valley Junction, WI, and Lynn (Rod Calhoun) Anderson of Norwalk; brother, Gerald (Rose) Heilman of Lynchberg, VA; six grandchildren, Wade (Erica) Czarnik, Dena (Kevin) Riley, Jace Czarnik, Dane (Alyx Thomas) Ripley, James “Jim” (Katelin Pintor) Sossong, and Autumn (Dylan Loken) Johnson; many great-grandchildren; close neighbors, especially Jerry Kolbo, who was like a son to Janet; along with a lot of dear cousins, other relatives and good friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband John in 2003; an infant son, Joseph John; parents; and a son-in-law, Douglas Czarnik.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 24, 2020, 1:00 PM, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Norwalk, WI. Father Michael Klos will officiate. Burial will follow at a later date in the church cemetery.
Family and friends are invited for visitation Thursday, January 23, 2020, beginning at 3:45 with a Rosary and prayer service and continuing until 7:00 PM at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Visitation will also be held on Friday from noon until the time of service.
