Obituary Preview: Darrel R. Evans, age 89 of Big Rock, IL passed away on Friday, June 22, 2024 at the Asbury Gardens Nursing and Rehabilitation in North Aurora, IL. He was born on April 23, 1935 in Big Rock, IL the son of Merritt and Pauline (Dodson) Evans.
Darrel was united in marriage on July 30, 1966 to Cynthia Rae Parish and they spent the next 57 years happily together. Mr. Evans was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Darrel, along with his father and brothers, were in a quartet and loved music. Mr. Evans was employed as a mechanic and truly enjoyed his job. He was a Chicago Bulls, Cubs and Bear fan, enjoying both watching and attending games with his children. Darrel was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.
Darrel is survived by his wife, Cynthia Rae Evans of Big Rock, IL; his children, Delores Perkins of Sandwich, IL, Steven (Mary) Evans of Chesterland, OH, and Tammie Birmann of Orland Hills, IL; his eight grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Merritt and Pauline Evans; his sons, Timothy, Dale and Rodney Evans; his brothers, Ray and Edward Evans.
A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. A private interment will take in the West Big Rock Cemetery in Big Rock, IL.
Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Funeral Home in Hinckley, IL.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served in the 101 Air Born Division. Carl was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley, IL. He had farmed on his family farm his entire life. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Debby (Douglas) Black of Hinckley, IL; his five grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren with one more on the way; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl H. and Stella Grometer; his wife, Mildred Bonnell Grometer; his sons, Carl Anthony and Dale Edward Grometer; his daughter, Cindy Welch; his grandson, Carl Michael Grometer; also his sister, Charlotte Herron.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.

Neva was united in marriage on March 29, 1959 at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL to Mr. Arthur Dean. Together they raised their children and spent much of their married life together in Hinckley, IL until his passing on December 8, 2001. Neva later married Mr. LeRoy Kohler on November 27, 2004 and they spent the next 6 happy years together in Shabbona, IL until his passing on March 6, 2011. She was a proud mother and homemaker. Neva worked part time as a church secretary for many years at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, IL. Quilting was a big part of her life and over the years she had made many lovely quilts for her friends and family. She was proud to be a part of many quilting clubs including DeKalb County Quilters Guild. Neva was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Neva is survived by the Deans, Dale (Cynthia) Dean of Big Rock, IL, Doris Dean of Poplar Grove, IL and Daryl (David Woodard) Dean of Los Angeles, CA; the Kohlers, Lon (Dr. Linda) Kohler of Kansas, Dan (Carol) Kohler of Hinckley, IL; her grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Caroline Suckow; her husbands, Arthur Dean and LeRoy Kohler; and her siblings, Earl (Grace) Suckow, Leon (Louise) Suckow and Fern Suckow.
A Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel, 141 North Maple Street, Hinckley, IL with Pastor Derek Rogers officiating. Interment will take place at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Hinckley, IL.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until the Hour of Service on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at the Nash-Nelson Memorial Chapel in Hinckley, IL.
