Obituary Preview: Edwin Gerard Gardiner Sr.(Jerry) passed away peacefully on Monday, January 8, 2024 at the of age 79. He was the beloved husband for 50 years to the late MaryAnn Mikos Gardiner.
Born October 3, 1944 to Dr. Edwin D. Gardiner and Mary Lynch Gardiner.
Raised in Forest Hills Gardens with his siblings Kevin, Leslie and the late Patricia Godfrey.
Jerry is survived by his children Edwin Jr. and Denise and cherished grandson Edwin III. His summers were spent with his family at Huletts Landing with his siblings where he had a love for waterskiing. He attended Forest Hills High School, later to be drafted into the Army to serve in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968.
Jerry was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle church and known for his kind and loving nature.
He was always volunteering at events they had at St. Thomas the Apostle. Coaching basketball and baseball, working at Bazaars, the Golden Gloves and even when the WWF (WWE) came to Woodhaven.
Before retiring, he worked for ADT and TIAA-CREF as a main frame technician. He also had a love for vanilla ice cream and jelly beans.
