Obituary Preview: Angela Lorane Harmon Bostic was born on March 4, 1956, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Herbert White and the late Zenobia Harmon. She was the oldest of three siblings. She departed this life on September 7, 2021.

Angela attended the public schools of Richland County and was a graduate of Eau Claire High School. During her high school years, she met and fell in love with her husband, Clinton. From that love came the commitment of marriage, and from that union four children were born.

Angela worked with Sunshine House Day Care Center and with the Richland County School System for many years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. While she took care of her children, she also cared for the children of other family members. This is where one of her big passions really emerged.  She found purpose and joy in getting the preschoolers ready for their learning journey in the public-school system.

Her knowledge of Christ began with her family as a member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church No. 1.  This paved the way for her to seek a relationship with Christ. Following the leading of her husband, Angela began to attend and later joined Rehoboth United Church pastored by Bishop C. L. Lorick, Sr. where she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and continued to follow Him faithfully throughout her life.  She served as a Sunday School teacher which enabled her to teach children about God and prepare them for Heaven. Angela also sang on the choir, was a beautiful soloist, and participated in several organizations and church ministries.

When her husband answered the call to ministry, she supported him wholeheartedly.  From working with Rehoboth Church’s second ministry in Williston, S.C. to starting a ministry of their own, Angela has been tirelessly by his side as a beautiful first lady in Christ. She was a dedicated church mother and strong prayer warrior with a true desire to be a witness. She comforted and encouraged whomever she could as part of her personal ministry. A perfect example of forgiveness and not holding grudges, she believed in showing the love of Christ in all she did. Angela enjoyed gathering food and other items to give to those who were less fortunate. She had the gift of giving and consequently, gave of herself and her time selflessly. She would stay up all night just to make things better for others. She had so much compassion! In addition to her church duties, she was also a member of God’s Anointed Women of Prayer Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Cheryl Washington.

Angela was a person of many creative talents. She could simply sew a button on a sleeve or make a tailored shirt. She could sew a doll’s arm back together or make a new doll. Many new babies were welcomed with Angela’s handmade blanket sets. Her talents also included making wedding dresses, fruit baskets and gift baskets for various occasions, cooking, baking, and more. If something needed to be done, she was going to find a way to do it! Quite often these projects were done just to make someone smile, or to say thank you. Angela will be missed by everyone who was touched by her life. She will never be forgotten.

In addition to her parents, Angela was preceded in death by two sons, Clinton Lamont Bostic and Baby Antonio Bostic; grandparents, Wesley and Mary Nixon Harmon; uncles, Arthur Rearden, David Spry, Nathaniel Smith, Fertis Harmon, Wesley Harmon, Jr., Charlie Harmon, James Nixon; and aunts, Lois Harmon and Carolyn Graves. Left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her loving husband, Clinton Bostic; children, Tasha (John “Jay) Bostic Heyward and Andre’ Bostic; five grandchildren, Jayvion Heyward, Jayda Heyward, Christian Bostic, Devin Bostic, and King Bostic; two brothers, Timothy (Melissa) Myers and Wendell Kelly; one sister, Diana Kelly; one uncle, John Harmon; three aunts, Mary Ann Rearden, Ann Smith, Lillie Mae Spry; one special nephew, Jaylan Kelly Miller; a special cousin, Joy Graves; mother figure,  Julia Kelly; special friends, Beverly Johnson, Linda Greene, Rene Carter-Williams, Cheryl Washington, Julia Harvin, and Ethel Glover; and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends whom she all loved dearly

Carolyn was a member of Second Nazareth Baptist Church. She enjoyed quality time with her family. She was also a hard worker and enjoyed shopping and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her three brothers, David Lee, John, and Calvin Bryant; one sister, Gloria Ann Bryant; and one sister-in-law, Glendora Harrison.
