Obituary Preview: James Leroy Aumiller, Sr., 79, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Carroll Hospital Center. Born January 15, 1943, he was the son of the late Charles Edward Aumiller, Sr. and Isabel Hile.
He was a technology repairman, mainly fixing televisions, among other items. He enjoyed reading the bible and listening to Christian music, and playing pool; in his younger years he loved running.
Surviving are children, Jacqueline L. Heinze and husband Steven of Jarrettsville, James C. Angel and fiancée Rebecca Neal of Essex; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and siblings Charles E. Aumiller, Jr. and Aletha Powell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Franklin Aumiller and Kenneth Hile, and grand-daughter, Alexandra Justine Angel.

Obituary Preview: Frances Patricia (Pat) (Kane) Kramer, 82, passed away on March 25, 2022, at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD on March 6, 1940, Pat was the daughter of the late Samuel and Eleanor (Levy) Kane. She was a devoted wife to Howard Kramer for over 63 years. Together, they personified the American dream, and through hard work and grit, changed the trajectory of their lives. Pat retired from a career as a successful local business owner after serving the community for 15 years as the owner/operator of Westminster Duplicating Center. Pat cherished the relationships she developed with the many service organizations, churches, and community members over that 15-year period. All who interacted with Pat were delighted by her witty repertoire and touched by her compassionate nature. Pat didn’t have clients, she formed life-long friendships. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Joan, and is survived by the love of her life and husband (Bunk), two children and their spouses, four grandchildren, two siblings, numerous nieces and nephews and so many others who had the true privilege and honor of knowing Pat.

Helen "Susie" Warner - October 31, 1924 - March 23, 2022

Obituary Preview: Helen “Susie” Leidy Warner died peacefully at her home in Frizzellburg, on March 23, 2022.   Born to the late Paul and Helen (Shaffer) Leidy on October 31, 1924, on Colonial Avenue in Westminster, MD, she was the youngest of six children.  In addition to her parents and siblings: Mary L. Hawkins, Paul H. Leidy, Ruth L. Bullock, Robert L. Leidy, and Russell E. Leidy, she was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Robert E. Warner, and her great-granddaughter, Emma Catherine Baker.
Susie was baptized and raised in St. Paul's Reformed Church in Westminster, now the United Church of Christ, where she remained an active member until her death, volunteering in the office and for various fellowship functions.  She served as a deacon and an elder at various periods of her life.
A graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1941, she served on her class reunion committee for decades.  She was an avid knitter and needle worker, and made embroidered tablecloths for all of her daughters and grandchildren.   Susie belonged to Measure of Grace Prayer Shawl Ministry, where she also participated in making afghans that were distributed to the homeless.  She continued doing this until shortly before her sudden and unexpected passing.
At age 95, she embraced technology, learning to communicate with her family every day on an iPad, as well as joining her Zoom church services on Sundays.  She wrote personal emails to many family members on a daily basis.  Her service at Carroll Hospital Center included volunteering with the Carroll Hospital Auxiliary on a regular basis, prior to Covid restrictions.  In addition, she was instrumental in starting the Tree of Lights program with that organization.
Susie was a very active senior citizen, taking water exercise classes and participating in many Red Hat Society activities.  Holidays were her high points in the year as she regularly entertained gatherings of 50 or more family members for birthdays, Christmas, and other special occasions.  She claimed to have missed only one Westminster Memorial Day parade during her lifetime.
She is survived by her five daughters: SuHelen Myers (Geary) of Westminster, Rebecca Buffington (Dale) of Fairfield, PA, Frances Coale (William) of New Windsor, Roberta McGaughran (Gerald) of Chesapeake Beach, and Martha Holland (Paul) of Polk City, FL; eleven grandchildren: Alana Krispin of Reisterstown, Robert Buffington of Thurmont, Dennis Coale of Manchester, Patrick Myers of Ligonier, PA, Catherine Baker of Taneytown, Paul Coale of Tacoma, WA, Lindsey Heinemann of Silver Spring, Molly McGaughran of New York, Julie Todzia of Chesapeake Beach, Rachel Holland of Westminster, and Elizabeth Green of Polk City, FL; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A time of visitation will be open to the public from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 17 Bond St., Westminster, MD, followed by a private family service.     Graveside services at Pleasant Valley Cemetery will also be private.

Obituary Preview: Frances Ann Herrmann, 88, of Westminster, died peacefully on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at BridgingLife Hospice Dove House.  Born January 5, 1934, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George and Alberta (Hampton) Klein.  She was the wife of the late Donald Edwin Herrmann, to whom she was married for 51 years.
Franny worked at T.W. Mathers in Westminster for several years, where she ran the Scout Shop.  She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Westminster and was active in the Ladies’ Sodality.  She enjoyed gardening, listening to music, reading, and attending church services.  Frances loved birds, bunnies, and her "grand-dog" Ripley, named after her husband's hometown.  She took great joy in the simple things of life.  She was selfless, kind and put family above all else.
Surviving is her daughter, Cynthia Dotterer (Steven) of Westminster; son, Daniel Herrmann (Vickie) of York, PA; siblings, James Klein, Dorothy Koster, Bonnie Quesinberry, Christine Phelan, and Linda Winter; grandchildren, Holly Larsen (LeRoy), Timothy Lemmerman Jr. (Sarah), Amanda Adams (Wesley), Matthew Dotterer, and Emily Green (Thomas); great-grandchildren, Gabriel “Brie”, Tyler, Owen, LeRoy “Lee”, Mackenzie, Quentin, and Lilyana; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband Donald, she was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Lemmerman; and siblings, George Klein Jr., Joyce Converso, Thomas Klein, Nancy Bouvuin, Mary Shanklin, Michael Klein, Carol Murphy and Ann Winter.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, MD with the Rev. Mark Bialek as celebrant.  Interment will follow at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore.

Obituary Preview: Thomas Moore “Tom” Meachum, age 70, of Westminster died peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family, after courageously fighting a rare cancer.
Born October 3, 1951 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Roy Neal Meachum, Jr. and the late Patricia Lou (Moore) Meachum. He graduated from Gettysburg College as a brother of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and obtained his J.D. from University of Baltimore School of Law.
Tom was a dedicated attorney and partner at Carney, Kelehan, Bresler, Bennett & Scherr, LLP for the past 26 years, where he was managing partner of the Westminster office. Prior to joining the firm, he worked for the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland and the Howard County Office of Law. Over his lifetime, he was a community servant and served on the Board of Directors for multiple non-profits including The Arc of Howard County, Howard County Chamber of Commerce, Association of Community Services, and most recently, the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster. Tom was an avid golfer, bird watcher, history buff, ferocious reader, and 60s-and-70s music enthusiast, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 22 years Kari Marie Ebeling; his children Mitchel Ebeling, Elizabeth Ebeling, Emma Ebeling and Christopher Meachum; his siblings Roy Meachum III, Susan Meachum (John Stonesifer), and Michael Meachum. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Tom lived an extraordinary life filled with grace, patience, and a stoic air of strength that was an example to all those lucky enough to know him.

Born on January 11, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Frank McKinney and Pauline McKinney, nee Stover). She was the loving wife of John C. Graybeal, Sr., to whom she was married 42 years. She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward W. Plunkert, Jr.
Libby was a teacher’s aide for 14 years. She was a seamstress her entire life. She loved sewing clothes for her children and thoroughly enjoyed making drapes. Libby and John spent lots of time together playing golf, antiquing, and traveling in their motor home. They visited 49 states. She was a fabulous cook. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are children Debbie Owen and husband Mike of FL, Denise Hoover and husband Jim, Dorinda Bartlett and husband Randy, and David Plunkert and wife Joyce, all of MD; brother William McKinney; stepchildren Jack Graybeal and wife Barbara, Jay A. Graybeal and wife Doris, all of MD, and Joel M. Graybeal and wife Caroline of NC; and brother William McKinney; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her first husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 4 brothers.
The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the Westminster Church of the Brethren, 19 Bond Street, Westminster, MD 21157, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will be private.

Obituary Preview: Charles Ridgely White (Charlie), 81, of Westminster, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 25, 1940, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late John and Adelaide (Danz) White. He was the beloved husband of Pamela H. White for 28 years.  He graduated from Towson High School in 1959. He worked as a retail manager for most of his career and did plumbing work in his later years. His enduring legacy was found in his final career, a stay-at-home dad to his twin girls. He was active in the Church of the Ascension for many years before becoming a member in 1996. He served on vestry several times and led the Outreach committee for 30 years. He lived a life of service to others and enjoyed his work with the soup kitchen, New Life for Girls and various other outreach organizations and projects. He loved cooking for the Mistletoe Mart and the monthly breakfast. He enjoyed participating in Christmas plays and vacation Bible school with his girls. He was a kind, generous and loving man who could not say no to a volunteer activity or any person or animal in need. He loved his Lord, family, and church. He was an avid fan of football. Whether he was watching his Ravens, other professional teams, college games, or past games, it really didn’t matter. He adored his pets, and they were devoted to him. He loved music, food, traveling, “Clifford” his big red tractor, and history. He enjoyed dragging his family to historical sites frequently and his family enjoyed the pleasure it gave him.  He is survived by 5 children, Sarah M. White and Sydney A. White of Westminster, Jonathan R. White of Norristown, PA, Jeffrey C. White and wife Carrie of Ellicott City, Beth J. Wheeler and husband Ray of Aiken, SC; 3 grandchildren, Andrew White (Carly), Brady White and fiancée Emma, and Mitchell White and fiancée Rebecca.  He is survived by father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Joyce Houck, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bob and Sharon Houck, and nephew and niece Trevor and Kayla Houck.  He is also survived by a niece Melanie Heirs (Shawn), grand-nephew Brandon Gioia (Summer), grand-nieces Cassidy Gioia, and Ashley Gammon (Wiley), great grand-nieces Adelaide, Amelia and Emmy Anne and great grand-nephew Oliver. He is also survived by niece Caroline White.  He was predeceased by sister Anne Bennett, niece Tara Bennett, and half-brother John White.  A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Church of the Ascension, 23 N Court St, Westminster, MD. Friends and family will be received at a reception following the service. Interment in the columbarium at the church will be held privately.

Gwyn was a graduate of Carroll Spring School.  She was a member of the Carrollton Church of God family in Finksburg.  She had been actively involved with Change, Inc. (now Penn-Mar Foundation).  Gwyn loved her dogs, Dusty and Whiskers, the Ravens and Orioles, wrestling, music, line dancing, movies and popcorn, arts and crafts, tie-dye, dolphins, horses, and spending time with her friends.  She was a happy and joy-filled person whose smiles and laughter lifted the spirits of all who encountered her.  One of her favorite days of the year was her birthday.
Surviving are her brother, Jim Buell and wife Karen of Westminster, with whom she lived for 11 years; nieces, Holly Ellison (Todd), and Mandy Buell; and great-niece, Lillian Grace Ellison.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Lynn Young and Dawn Buell.

Barbara Catherine Miller - Unknown - February 09, 2022

Obituary Preview: Mrs. Barbara Catherine Miller (Rhinehart), 88, of Westminster, died Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Ridge Overlook Assisted Living.
Barbara was born and raised in Montgomery County, MD to Rezie Wright Rhinehart and Ida Dorcus Rhinehart (Whetzel).  Barbara was the second of their seven children.  She was predeceased by Betty, Irvin, and Brenda, and is survived by Edwin, Nelson, and Eileen.  She graduated from Damascus High School in 1951 where she served as the Senior Class Historian.
Using the clerical skills that she learned in school, Barbara worked as a secretary at National Institute of Health before marrying and starting a family.  Later she returned to work for 30 years at J. Schoeneman, Inc.
Barbara married her husband, Jonas Eugene Miller, in 1955.  They were married for 46 happy years before Gene entered heaven in 2002.
Barbara showed her love to family and friends by crocheting blankets, needle point on table clothes, and being the seamstress to anyone who needed the help.  She was known for baking incredible cakes and cookies.  Her beautiful gardens were always her pride.  The family looked forward to the Labor Day Picnics and the Miller Christmas Party that she and Gene hosted each year.
Surviving are two sons, Mark S. Miller and wife Marti (Bowen) of Westminster, Thomas L. Miller of Staunton, Va., and her son, Timothy A. Miller (predeceased), and his wife, Linda Bradley of Staunton, Va.  Barbara also enjoyed three grandchildren, Kevin Miller, Christopher Miller, and Sarah Jenvey (Miller) and husband, Ryan; two step-granddaughters; two step great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Thursday, February 17th at Myers-Duboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster 21157.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Friday, February 18th at the funeral home.  Interment will be private at the Lake View Memorial Park, Eldersburg.  Memorial donations may be made to the William E. Carroll "Dick" R. Lindsay - April 25, 1948 - February 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Carroll Richard “Dick” Lindsay, 73, of Westminster, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at BridgingLife Hospice Center (Dove House) in Westminster, MD after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born April 25, 1948, he was the son of the late Carroll L. Lindsay and Mabel L. Lindsay. He was the loving husband to Lynn Lindsay, to whom he was married for 50 years.
Dick graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 1966 and the University of Maryland in 1970 with a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. Dick began a career of public service with the City of Baltimore and then later transitioned to management positions closer to home with the City of Westminster and the Carroll County Government, where he worked as a project manager for the Bureau of Building Construction until retirement in 2010. Dick proudly contributed to the construction of Carroll Community College, libraries and senior centers.
He enjoyed many hobbies including carpentry, gardening, cooking and antiquing. A meticulous planner and creative problem solver, he relished the challenges of home improvement and tractor/ automotive restoration. Dick loved sharing the thrill of a new project and the sense of accomplishment in a job well done with his family. An avid sports fan, Dick loyally followed the Orioles, Ravens and Terps and also cherished supporting his children and grandchildren in their many sports.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Jesse Lindsay and his wife Becky, of Freeland, MD; daughter Rachel Ludlow and her husband Derek, of Westminster; grandchildren Gabe, Ben, and Ryan Lindsay, and Abigail and Drew Ludlow; and sister Helen Coulby of Frederick. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister LaRue Franklin.
The family will receive friends from 4-6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2022, at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s name to Habitat for Humanity of Carroll County (cchabitat.org).

Leslie was the loving mother of her two children; son Ricky A. Simons and wife Karen of Taneytown; daughter Kim L. Wantz and partner Harry Kay of Taneytown.

Jim was born on November 20, 1942 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to (the late) Gladys and Delbert Poorman. Jim was predeceased by his beloved brother Daniel Poorman and his sister-in-law Dana Meddows.
Jim was generous and abundant with humor. He loved family, art: stained glass, photography, painting, and shooting with friends. He and his wife enjoyed traveling, taking their children and nephews on camping trips, visiting family on the west coast, going on cruises as a couple, among other trips. Jim was involved with their church; things he enjoyed most- teaching Sunday School together, working at Camp Cherith summer camp together, completing service projects at the church, serving as a Deacon. He prioritized helping others and was known for being dependable. His profession was with Verizon as a lineman for 29 years. He also spent time working for greyhound races in Florida and other states. He was a veteran of the US Army. Jim retired in 2001, enjoying his schedule of no schedule, spending winters in Myrtle Beach

Lauder, his wife of 71 years; loving father of Victoria Kirmse and her husband Francis of Dundalk and Debra Darchicourt and her husband David of Hanover, PA; beloved grandfather of Jonathan Rusk and his wife Nichole, Aaron Kirmse, Jessica Roop and her husband Jason, Joshua Darchicourt; cherished great grandfather of Alyssa Rusk and Benjamin Roop.
David was an army veteran of World War II, after the war he worked as a Maryland State Trooper for 28 years retiring a 1st Lieutenant in 1976.  In 1977, he went to work for the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade, Maryland in the security police force for 18 years and retired as a Lieutenant in 1993.  In his spare time, he loved traveling and camping with his wife, he enjoyed getting together with other retired State Troopers at Baugher’s Restaurant in Westminster as often as he could.  He enjoyed reading and watching football and most of all, he loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster (21157) where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 4, 2022, with Pastor Richard Humphreys officiating.  Interment will follow in Holly Hills Memorial Gardens in Baltimore.

Michael was an Industrial Mechanic by trade, and also a Realtor. He enjoyed apologetics, reading about nature and plants, hunting, and was a student of Sedevacantism. Michael was always passionate about learning. Last, but certainly not least, enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his two sisters, Valerie Kirchofer (Jim K.); and Christina Miranda; and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and sister-in-law Bonnie Garland (Jack N.). He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Miranda, and sister Patricia Miranda.
Pray for his children and someday we all will meet again in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens will be private with Fr. Sam Young presiding. Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.

She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Glyndon. Judie loved to preserve family memories in her carefully crafted scrapbook albums. She volunteered her time making prayer shawls for the sick, winter scarves for the homeless in Baltimore, and tiny caps for the newborns at Carroll Hospital Center. Judie selflessly served as a temporary foster mother for several children. She was a den mother in Cub Scouts and volunteered with the Girl Scouts for 25 years. She also served as a hospice volunteer for Dove House for more that 10 years. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and a sixty-year member of the Alumni Association of Chestnut Hill College.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her daughters, Amy L. Spessard and her husband, Nelson of Frederick; Julie A. Schwarzopf, of Baltimore; Sarah M. Watson and husband Brian of Cincinnati, OH; Elizabeth A. Tarrier and husband Curtis, of Lewisport, KY. Sons, Geoffrey E. and wife Stacey Hanover, PA; Jonathan E. and wife Heather of Reisterstown; Stephen M. and wife Krista Lynn of Mercersburg, PA; sister Linda M. Falconiero of Cohasset, MA; and seventeen grandchildren. Judie was predeceased by a son, Matthew J. Schaefer.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon, MD 21071.
