Misty Dawn Fleming - January 27, 1977 - May 10, 2024

Departed: 05/10/2024 (Warfield)
Obituary Preview: Beloved sister, mother and daughter, Misty Dawn Waller 47 of Wichita Falls, TX formerly of Kermit, WV passed from this world on Friday May 10, 2024. Misty was born in Columbus, OH to Shirley Marcum Waller and the late James Rufus “Bucky” Waller on January 27, 1977. She was
raised in Kermit, WV on Marrowbone Creek. She was the oldest of 5 children and the only girl. She was a mother hen to her younger brothers with them often taking offense to her mothering nature. She was tough but had to be with 4 younger brothers and kept them on their toes. Misty
was a homemaker. Misty married Harold Eugene Fleming and lost him to cancer in 2021. Following his death, she moved to Texas to be closer to her mother, brothers and son. Misty was preceded in death by her father, Bucky, an infant daughter, Autumn Brooke, and her husband Eugene. She is survived by her mother Shirley, companion Jason Herd, her son Cameron Waller of Wichita Falls, TX, her daughter Jeannah Fleming of Inez, KY, brothers James Shawn (Ashley) Waller of Kermit, WV, Jeremiah Waller, Dustin (Misty) Waller and Shane (Rocio) Waller of Wichita Falls, TX, sister in law Tammy Waller of Wichita Falls, TX nieces Kyla Waller of Huntington, WV and Alex Coleman of Louisa, KY, nephews Andrew Baisden, Evan Waller, and Chase Waller of Wichita Falls, TX, Brody Waller and Jordan Waller of Lenore WV and Ethan Coleman of Louisa, KY. She loved her nieces and nephews and loved to spoil them; affectionately calling them all “Sissy’s baby”. Misty was fiercely independent, stubborn and as wild as the hills that raised her. Misty lived her life on her own terms and refused to allow her illness to define her or confine her up until the day she entered Hospice of Wichita Falls inpatient center. On that day she told us she was tired of fighting. She made her peace with the Lord and told us there is no life without God in it and was content to know she will have eternal life in heaven with her beloved Papaw. Services will be graveside on Friday May 17, 2024, at 1 pm on Newsome Ridge in the family cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone who donated to help get Misty home for burial and Mullins Funeral Home for their assistance in
honoring Misty. Donations can continue to be made to Mullins Funeral Home in Misty’s name.

Charles Edward Castle - July 22, 1939 - February 17, 2024

Departed: 02/17/2024 (Warfield)
Obituary Preview: It is with a heavy heart that we would like to announce the passing of a wonderful husband, Daddy, Papaw and friend. Charles E.”Chuck” Castle, 84, of Kermit, WV went to be with God on February 17, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. He was born on July 22, 1939 in Cabin Creek, WV to Ruth Cain and Leo Pierce Castle. As a young adult, Chuck served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy. After moving to Kermit, and meeting his wife, Martha, Dad worked as an electrician in the coal mines. It was a hard job, but he never complained.
If you knew Chuck at all, you knew how much he loved his family. Reunions on Cabin Creek during the Memorial Day weekend were one of his most favorite events. He loved to visit with all the ones that he was raised with. Another passion of his was his antique cars. His pride and joy was the 68 Camaro that he restored from nothing to the beauty that it still is today. For most of his life, he was tinkering on a vehicle of some kind.
One of the things that he held dear to his heart was the town of Kermit. He served on the Kermit City Council for 12 years and had such a passion for improving the town that he loved to call home.
There was never a time that Chuck didn’t have a quirky saying to brighten up a persons day. It was either a “What up, Buttercup?” Or an “Oh golly” while playing games with the grandkids. Ask him how he was doing and you would probably get something like “Finer than Frog Hairs” or “If I was any better there would need to be two of me.” He had such a way with words. Patience….that is another thing that was abundant in Chuck. Any of the grandkids will tell you that they could stand in the garage with him while he worked on cars and ask him a million questions and he would answer every single one. He liked it that they wanted to learn and was always there to teach them anything they wanted to know. The love that he had for each of his grandchildren was abundant and everybody knew it. He took any chance that he could to brag on his babies. Our girls always wanted to be with their Papaw, and he never minded a bit. Although he didn’t get much time with the newest addition, Waylon, they would have been the best of buddies. Chuck is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha Ann Sartin Castle, children Karen (John Reeve) Stewart, Melissa (Michael) Stepp, Charles E. (Betty) Castle, Jr., granddaughters Brianna Marie (Jacob) Cline, Katelyn LeAnn (Jordan) Odenthal, and Haley Alexis Stepp, one great-grandson Waylon Drew Cline, and one sister Leona Simmons
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings Paul Castle, Pierce Castle, Harry Castle, Roberta Holstein, Linda Kay Thorne, and Carol Nutter.
The Castle family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at the Mullins Family Funeral Home in Warfield, KY. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday February 21, 2024 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. View Memory Garden in Mayer. Pastor Walter Marcum will speak. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored to serve Chuck’s family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence on his obituary page at www.mullinsfamilyfuneralhome.com
