Cherishing his life and memories include his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Baskin McBroom; his children, Ashli Doucet and her husband Cain, and Isaac “Ike” McBroom; his grandchildren, Olivia Gandy, Elijah Paul Gandy, Hattie Doucet, Hailey Doucet and Hannah Doucet; mother, Linda Boies McBroom; brother, David McBroom and wife Emily; brother-in-law, George R. He could usually be found in the roping pen with Ike and friends, hauling kids to rodeo events, or helping Jennifer at barrel races. Elizabeth "Lea" Bailey Jackson - September 10, 1982 - April 22, 2022

Departed: 04/22/2022 (Rayville)
Obituary Preview: Elizabeth Lea Bailey Jackson, age 39, passed away on April 22, 2022. Lea was born on September 10, 1982, and resided in her small town of Rayville, Louisiana, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her heart. At a young age, her personality blossomed. It was contagious, bright, and full of joy. Lea was a dynamically vibrant social butterfly and the life and soul of any setting. She thrived through making others happy while celebrating life to the fullest. Lea took every opportunity to make memories through her generosity, adventurous spirit, and charismatic charm. She loved country music so much, she even made her friends listen to it to fall asleep during sleepovers.
She loved to sing and put on a production for everyone to enjoy. Her dear family and friends often had to endure her making music videos with the home video recorder. If they were lucky enough, they had to dress up as the backup dancers and singers. Lea was the first one to speak of her faith, trust, and love to our Heavenly Father and felt the most grounded when in church and reading her bible. After graduating from Riverfield Academy, Lea attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Lea met her husband, Ronnie and married him on May 16, 2015. Lea’s dream of becoming a mother came true in 2021 when they welcomed Elaina Marie. Even though she only had six months with her, the love and devotion she provided for Elaina will last an eternity. Elaina was her true happiness and made each day brighter. As Lea often stated, Elaina was her miracle baby who made her life complete. Some of Lea’s favorite activities were traveling the world with her family, spending summers at Lake Bruin, fishing with Ronnie, Tanner, Ayden, and Cooper, joyriding the “Rayville Loop”, mud hogging with her high school friends, and visiting with her family.
She is preceded in death by her angels. Frazier Tony Bailey, III, father, Mildred and Frazier Bailey, grandparents, Vivian and Foster Jones, grandparents, Mary Castor, Mother-in Law, Father-in-law, Roy Lee Nesselrode, Sr., and Charles Hiott, uncle.
Lea is survived by her husband, Ronald Taylor Jackson, two children, stepson, Tanner Jackson and Elaina Jackson. Her mother, Catherine Bailey Greeson and stepfather, William Bland Greeson. Her sister, Christin Bailey Siscoe and husband, Leslie Shay Siscoe, and their two boys, Ayden and Cooper Siscoe. Sisters-in- Law, Raegen and husband Brian Heisler, and Amanda Castor and husband Jason Stroud. Brother-in-Law, Ryan Jackson. She is also survived by her aunts and uncles, Lizann and Greg Hogue, Vee and Don Hebert, Linda Bailey, Clint Helstein, Peggy Lasater, and Sandy Helstein. Lea is also survived by her cousins, Pamela and husband, Scott Beach, Donna Hebert, Austin Hogue and wife Ginny, Jordan Wilkinson and husband Kyle, and Bailey Hogue. Along with numerous friends, mentors, and family members.
Lea would want us to rejoice her life and reunification with her savior and loved ones. Visitation will be Wednesday April 27, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville, Louisiana from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Saint David’s Episcopal Church on Thursday April 28, 2022, at 3:00 PM with Rev. Christie Fleming officiating. Lea will be laid to rest at the Rayville Masonic Cemetery next to her father following the service.
Pallbearers for Lea will be her beloved godfathers, James Green and John Thomas Jordan, her cousin, Austin Hogue, her brothers-in-law, Ryan Jackson and Bryan Heisler, and her fatherly mentor, Kenneth Branch, uncles, Donald Hebert and Greg Hogue, and a friend, Jason Terlouw. Please join us in her celebration of life. We know the angels rejoiced her return and alleviated all her worries here on earth. “There must be Borrowed Angels here in this life. They come along, into this world, and make this world bright, but they can’t stay forever because they are heaven sent. And sometimes, heaven needs them back again.”

Orie Gene Morris - September 23, 1938 - December 15, 2021

Departed: 12/15/2021 (Rayville)
Obituary Preview: Orie Gene was born on September 23, 1938, to Jimmie and Orie Lee Morris on Turkey Creek in Franklin Parish. His determination to work together was instilled at birth, as he was born into a large and growing family. He was the fifth-born of his nine siblings: Charles, Helen, Elaine, John, Betty, Virginia, Ted, Brenda, and Joe. Mitchell Ridge became the final place the Morris family called home, and Orie Gene became invested with farming the land. This began a lifelong career.
On November 25, 1960, Orie Gene married Lillian Ann Kee at Boeuf River Baptist Church. This union began his inspiration to love deeply with the building of their family of boys: Jeffery Todd, Timothy Gene, Christopher Brian, and Nathaniel Lee. The family was set to quickly grow with the addition of daughters-in-laws: Lori, Sheila, Andrea, and Annie.
The dedication to leave a legacy was extended when Orie Gene and Ann had their first grandchild. This legacy of love was unhindered and unbridled in his passion to be involved with his grandchildren’s lives on all occasions. Many gifts of love and words of encouragement were imparted upon Dustin Kee, Emily Suann, Amanda Rae, Patrick O’Neal, Cameron Gene, Kelsey RaeAnn, Peyton Spencer, Olivia Marie, Orie O’Briant, Linda Claire, Lillian Leigh, Walter David, Samuel Vincent, Benjamin Kee, and Jesse Lynn. Further growth was enjoyed as they witnessed the grandchildren’s marriage additions of Ashley, Lee, Jake, Savannah, Monica, Andrew, Reed, Emily, and Drew.
A culmination of joy and happiness embraced with fondness and adoration with the birth of Orie Gene and Ann’s first great-grandchild. His love of children was evident in his eager desire to see the latest updated picture, hold the newest born baby, and watch the children play at every occasion. Addie Lee, Kimber Todd, Audrey Kee, Ralph Lee “Rafe,” Andie Rae, Jeffery Todd, Grace Lorin, Jacob Riggs, Jude Benson, James Wyatt, Emma Claire, Preston O’Neal, Henry Phillip, Jane Lillian, George Andrew, Rhett Morris, Ellie Kate, Luke Browning, Oliver Louis, George Alexander, Rawls Drury, Lillian Camille, and those to be born are these blessed great-grandchildren.
Having raised his family to believe in eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, his family gathered around to witness Orie Gene’s passing into eternal life on December 15, 2021. Seeking to remember the greatness of a life well lived, Ann now gathers Papa’s “silver and gold” of family that he left behind. This is the treasure of a lifetime invested in his family. He will forever be remembered for his determination, inspiration, and dedication that culminated in love.

Patricia Anne Sanderson - November 23, 1945 - November 18, 2021

Departed: 11/18/2021 (Rayville)
Obituary Preview: Patricia Anne (Pat, Patty) Clark Sanderson, 75, formerly of West Monroe and Ville Platte, Louisiana passed away after a lengthy illness on November 18, 2021.
Pat was a mother, wife, daughter, grandmother, sister, a really fun aunt, cousin, and loyal one-of-a-kind friend. She was born on a farm between Downsville and Dubach, LA and lived there until she was 12, when she moved with her family to West Monroe. As the middle child of five, thin and wiry, she quickly established herself in her new neighborhood as the protector of her two younger siblings. Sometimes she had to provide neighborhood bullies, all much larger than herself, with unforgettable reminders that they should be kind to others, especially her younger sister and brother.
For many years, Pat and her husband lived in Ville Platte, LA, near the end of a country road. The road was, sadly, a dumping place for stray animals. Much to some’s disappointment, she provided food and shelter and ultimately a home to many of the dumpees. She had an uncanny ability to teach dogs and cats to do weird things, like suck a pacifier if they needed comfort, or to seemingly carry on a full-scale impassioned conversation when they had a need to communicate.
Patty was born wild and crazy and never outgrew it. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had a unique way of expressing herself with witty catch phrases full of wisdom and humor, that were surely later stolen by comedians, the media, sign makers and at least one President. Pat was giving and compassionate, loved her family to distraction, and sometimes beyond. She was never boring and friends counted themselves lucky to be in her good graces.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Wayne Sanderson, mother Winnie Jane Littleton, father Sylvester Clark, brothers Kenn Clark, Jimmy “Jake” Clark, and Gary Clark.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Vernon (Eugene) of Pioneer, LA, and Debby (Johnson) Dickson (Glenn) of Onalaska, TX. She is also survived by her sister Susie Clark Armstrong (Blount) of Doctors Inlet, FL, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews who appreciated her creative and unconventional methods when it came to entertainment.
Patricia Anne will be missed and mourned by some. But, for some, her memory will also bring smiles and the kind of laughter that makes one snort because of her unusual sense of humor, sometimes at inappropriate times.
A special memorial will be held at a later time to celebrate the life of this truly distinctive person we called Momma, Sis, Mammaw, Pat and Patty. Online registry/condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com Mulhearn Funeral Home
