She was born May 25, 1978 a daughter of the late Clifford Sr. and Wanda (Hill) Webster.Marla graduated from West De Pere High School in 1996. She was united in marriage to Anthony Bodway on October 24, 1996.Marla was a huge sports fan cheering on the Packers, Duke University basketball, the White Sox and enjoyed watching all kinds of sports.She was a lifetime reader of "Archie" and had a vast collection of "Archie" books. Family game nights spent together was one of the things she loved the most.She is survived by her husband, Tony Bodway; three children: Toni Marie, Clifford Michael, and Rhonda Rose Bodway; sister, Roberta "Robbie" Webster; brother, Clifford Jr. (Tammy) Webster; nieces and nephews: Robert Cantu, Dominic (Traci) Cantu, Jasmin Webster, Joelle Thomas, and Justin Webster. Obituary Preview: Haze Sidney Diemel Jr., 86, Town of Maine, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022. He was born on July 23, 1935, to the late Haze Sr. and Adeline (Bednarz) Diemel. He was united in marriage to Mary Peeters on April 26, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Haze was a U.S. Navy Veteran, and he proudly served his country from 1954-1957.Haze worked as an operating engineer for Local 139 for many years. He and Mary also owned and operated Diemel's Resort for 30 years until their retirement in 2002. Haze was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed hunting and playing Sheepshead. In his younger years, he enjoyed ski jumping, and belonged to the Navarino Ski Club. Obituary Preview: Dawn Marie (née Steudel) Kelm, age 70, died at her home in Pittsfield on Saturday, April 2, 2022. She was born to Robert and Mary Esther (Persons) Steudel on May 17, 1951, in Appleton. She attended Fox Valley Lutheran High School, graduating in 1969. She furthered her education at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, and then UW Milwaukee, studying special education. Dawn worked at various locations in the Milwaukee area.On May 19, 1979, she was united in marriage to Wayne Albert Kelm from Townsend, whom she met when she was 12 years old while on one of her family's many camping trips to Boot Lake. They were married at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton. Soon after marriage, Wayne started teaching college at NWTC in Green Bay. They purchased their first home in Howard, and lived there 10 years before they built their home in Pittsfield on 22 acres. They did all their own construction and have shared their home with all the family throughout the years, making it a child's playground.Dawn was active in politics. She served as chairman for the town of Pittsfield for 15 years and served on many county and state committees throughout the years. She served as secretary for the Wisconsin Towns Association, Brown County and was the first President for N.E.W. Paramedic Rescue, which she helped start. Dawn was passionate about genealogy and preserving family history. She spent countless hours over the last many decades researching, writing, combing through cemeteries, visiting old farms and homes, interviewing elderly relatives and recording their stories, connecting with distant relatives worldwide, and collecting the photographs and artifacts of previous generations. She proudly traced every line of her family back hundreds of years and helped many others research their families as well.Dawn and Wayne enjoyed their pets, boating, motorcycling, water skiing, fishing, hunting, spending time on their property doing all sorts of outside projects, and above all, traveling, both domestically and overseas sharing many a back road and crazy adventure with husband Wayne.Dawn is survived by her husband, Wayne Kelm; brother and sisters-in-law: Walter (Ellen) Kelm, Cynthia Kelm, Cathleen (Stephen Palazzolo); cousins who were considered brothers and sisters: Steve (Jean) Persons, Linda Persons, Terry Persons, Shirley (Steve) Lemke, Carol (Scott) Sauder, Ken Persons, Susan Persons, and Sandra Schapekahm, and cousins Sandy Steudel Buelow and James Steudel; nieces and nephews: Matthew (Kerry) Kelm, Timothy (Danielle) Kelm, Mariah (Brian) Singer-Brown, Yana Palazollo, and Kayla (Thom) Keehan; special friends: Barbara Rose, Diane Wright, and Charity Van Kampen; and many other cousins and friends.Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents: William & Emma Steudel and Ronald & Esther Weber and Archie Persons; one nephew, Tyler Mertes.Visitation will take place at Christ the King Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1700 Cardinal Lane, Howard, from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2022. Obituary Preview: Lee James "Snuffy" Schmit, age 84, passed away on March 21, 2022 at Good Shepherd in Seymour. He was born on August 16, 1937 a son of the late Joseph and Martha (Hansen) Schmit.Lee attended Seymour Grade School and Seymour High School.He was united in marriage to Betty Roffers on August 23, 1958.Lee joined the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department where he proudly served for 53 years. He also volunteered for and worked at the Outagamie County Fairs.Lee was employed at Seidl Auto Body for 25 years. Every car had to have a perfect white glove finish which he was very proud of. He then worked at Seymour Community Schools in maintenance from where he retired. In 1978 Lee and Betty built and worked on their present home surrounded by the best neighbors. He was always proud of his home and property. Lee traveled many places north, south, east, and west by auto with Betty and the family. He even traveled Europe in a rental car along with dear friends Roger and Judy.He loved making things from wood and taking rusty gas pumps and refurbishing them. When the gas pumps got too heavy he started refurbishing peddle cars and peddle tractors.He is survived by wife, Betty; children: Michael (Julie) Schmit, Mark (Sarah) Schmit; grandchildren: Alyssa and Aurora; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: David (Claire) Roffers, Harley (Nancy) Roffers, Gary (Carolyn) Roffers, Joseph Roffers, Jean Roffers, Linda (Gary) Halase. Lee is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Schmit; sisters: Fern (Ludwig) Schroeder, Irene (Leonard) Zuleger; and brother, LeVern (Marion) Schmit; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Willard Roffers, James (Ruth Ann) Roffers, Bob Roffers, Michael Roffers, and his buddy, Shasta.Visitation will take place at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. After serving in the US Army, he spent the majority of his working years as a carpenter working for various construction companies. Virgil was a member of the American Legion Post in Seymour and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and watching the Packers and Brewers on television.Virgil is survived by his three children, Mark (Elaine) Marohl, Suzanne (Roy) Van Gheem, Michelle Nyson; brother, Jerry (Lynne) Marohl; brother-in-law, James Moldenhauer; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; nephews and nieces. Obituary Preview: Ann (Phyllis) Duffey, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on March 7, 2022. Born in Hilbert, WI on March 18,1929, she was adopted by Tony and Madeline Vanden Heuvel at the age of 15 months and was a Seymour resident most of her life.She attended Seymour and Black Creek Elementary schools, Seymour High School and UW-Green Bay. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom Duffey, on October 7,1950. Together they raised 6 children. Tom had an auto supply business and Ann worked for dentist Dr. George Cisler.In September 1979 their lives changed dramatically when they purchased the Seymour Times Press and took on the task of operating a small town weekly newspaper. Thanks to previous employees who were good and generous teachers, Tom & Ann succeeded in publishing the newspaper and a weekly shopper for ten years as well as operating a printing shop. Many other area residents helped them out through the years and they were well supported by local businesses.In 1985 Tom and Ann, along with two local business partners, established the local cable television company which was subsequently sold to what was then known as Time Warner Cable. In 1992, Tom and Ann began living two lives, having purchased a condo in Fort Myers, Florida, spending six months there every year, continuing until 2015. They enjoyed many volunteer activities while there, specially ushering at a nearby performing arts theater. They happily saw "Phantom Of The Opera" 40 times!Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Tom; children: Daniel K. (Linda), Oshkosh; Diane Loughlin, Worcester, MA; Tom (Cheri), Appleton; Dave, De Pere; John (Jenny), Dodgeville; Lisa (Tom) Molland, Sparta; grandchildren: Mike, Ruby (Paul), Marina, Emma (Sam), Liam (Sara), all of the MA area; Tom (Amy), Cedarburg; Collin (Abby), Appleton; Jeremy (Hannah), Green Bay; Miranda and Mason, Madison; great grandchildren: Malachi, Noah, Oriana, Green Bay; Ava and Sylvia, Cedarburg; Vivian, Appleton; Alena, MA area; niece, Jean Duffey, VA; nephew, Mike Duffey, NY; and a special "cousin-in-law," Jon (Sharon) Dyer., AZ.Also surviving are Ann's birth siblings, most of whom she first met when she was 83: Renae (Marge) Ott, Forest Junction; Marlene Ott and her friend Mary Longsine, Milwaukee; Neil (Karen) Ott, Hilbert; Lynn Greenwood, CA; Lee Ott, Appleton; and Berdine (Tom) Piepenburg, Hilbert.Preceding her in death were: parents, Tony and Madeline Vanden Heuvel; birth parents, Reuben and Verona Ott; sister, Mavis Ott Keller; brothers: Orrin Ott, David (Claremont) Ott, Reuben Ott Jr.; brothers-in-law: Patrick Duffey and Staff Sgt. She was born on May 20, 1946, daughter of the late Lloyd and Verla (Schultz) Hegner.Vonnie was united in marriage to Donald Barclay on July 11, 1964 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. She was a devoted wife and provided unconditional love and support. She stood by Donald's side throughout the many years of his pony pulling competitions. The couple had three children and celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage together. Vonnie worked at Wally's Seymour Bowl for over 30 years, and provided cleaning services. She loved to bowl and made numerous friends from her bowling leagues. An avid bowler, she would have participated in the Women's State Bowling Tournament for 30 years this year.Vonnie was a true Elvis fan girl and loved Tweety Bird. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and tending to her flowers and gardens. She also loved watching Brewers, Packers, and UWGB Phoenix Women's basketball games. Vonnie loved her grandchildren deeply. She attended all of their concerts, sporting events, and school functions. Vonnie was a loyal friend, always willing to lend out a helping hand. She took pride in taking care of others and did so many little things that made a significant impact to those she cared for. Her family was extremely important to her, and each of us will miss her dearly.Vonnie is survived by husband, Donald Barclay; her children: Tracie (Scott) Hansen, Glen (Lori Wojtowicz) Barclay, and Terri (Steve) Garsow; grandchildren: Kassie (Zach), Kendra (CJ), Eric, Justin (Tracy), Melissa, and Collin. Obituary Preview: Ruth Virginia Moeller, 97, Seymour, was called home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 5, 2022. The daughter of the late Clair and Hilda (Blumke) Forbes was born January 3, 1925, in Milwaukee. Ruth was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero, where she held various offices in the WELCA, attended numerous conventions, quilted and worked in the kitchen for many events and funerals. Ruth worked various jobs in Milwaukee. While spending time with her Uncle Bill and grandmother in Clintonville, Ruth met Reinhold Moeller at a dance where they were introduced through mutual friends. Ruth and Reinhold were united in marriage on June 10, 1950, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Cicero. They resided and farmed until they retired in 1980, and they built their retirement home near the family farm. They both enjoyed country living and being near family and long-time neighbors and friends. Reinhold preceded Ruth in death on April 8, 2002.Ruth loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She was the clothing/sewing leader for the Elm Lawn 4-H Club for many years. Ruth also made many beautiful ceramics pieces. After Reinhold passed away, Ruth became active in the Pulaski Quilting Club and made many beautiful quilts, table runners and wall hangings. She also devoted one day per week making quilts for "Warmth of the Heart." Survivors include six children: Jud (Carol) Moeller, Wabeno; Carrie (Phil) Daoust, Seymour; Sandra (Cletus) Selissen, Green Bay; Bill (Dulce) Moeller, Shawano; Beth (Lynden) Hovell, Pulaski; and Amy (Lee) Miller, Florida; one daughter-in-law, Susan Moeller, Seymour; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Lorna Forbes, Neenah. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Russell Moeller; one sister, June Ramaker; and two brothers, Robert and Clair "Sonny" Forbes.Visitation will take place on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Ascension Lutheran Church, Navarino, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m., with Pastors Mark and Marcia Sabin officiating. Arlene and Robert, both born and raised on the farm, continued to farm until their retirement in 1979. They enjoyed traveling and their weekend getaways. Arlene also enjoyed playing Sheepshead, which brought many friendships over the years. Survivors include her five children: Dan (Pam) Ossmann, Derald Ossmann, Debbie (Ron) Arndt; Dorothy (Chuck) Hein; Danette (Brian Lepianka) Ossmann; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by two children: Dennis and Charlene; one grandson: Jason; two great-grandchildren: Cody and Callista Jo; three brothers and four sisters.Friends may call at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, Fr. The couple celebrated 72 years of marriage together.Grace was a devoted member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, where she led a special religion class. She was very active in the community through her volunteering efforts, and was named "Outstanding Citizen" in 1987, which she most lovingly deserved. Grace and Aryln were instrumental with the operation of the Seymour food pantry for 19 years. Grace was employed as a cook at Good Shepherd Services and Seymour High School. She also enjoyed the years she worked at Kailhofer's Greenhouse in Seymour. Grace was a phenomenal cook, and nobody left her house hungry. Grace and Arlyn enjoyed tending to their flowers. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially the campfires and tractor rides with the grandkids. She was born on August 21, 1941 a daughter of the late Roland and Ruby (Zwicky) Combs.Following her graduation from Antigo High School, Mary enrolled at Ripon College and completed her undergraduate degree at Oshkosh State University. After graduation from Oshkosh, Mary entered basic training at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas and received her Physical Therapy degree in 1964. Mary was stationed in Landstuhl Germany during the Vietnam War and provided treatment for many soldiers who had been wounded while serving in Vietnam. Mary served in the Army Medical Corps for 4 years, obtaining the rank of Captain prior to her medical retirement.She was a proud pioneer in many ways. She showed the world that a woman could be just as educated and successful as any male counterpart.Mary went on to earn her Master's Degree at The Ohio State University where she coached the University Women's Basketball team. She still holds the record for the highest winning percentage in women's basketball at OSU. Mary also served as the Athletic Trainer to the football team when Woody Hayes was the head coach. She enjoyed attending many college football bowl games as a team Alumni.After several years at The Ohio State University, Mary began working for the state of Ohio, becoming the Chief Physical Therapist for the Nisonger Center. From there Mary began another stellar career working for Orient State Institute for developmentally disabled individuals serving as Special Assistant to the Superintendent for many years.Mary finally decided to return to Wisconsin where she worked for more than 30 years as a Physical Therapist for various hospitals and agencies.Faith was very important to Mary. While in Milwaukee she served as a chaplain supporting her faith community.Mary loved traveling and was fortunate to have visited many places throughout the world.After caring for her parents in Polar, she moved to Wilmington, NC with her sister, Dr. Sue Combs.Mary had an amazing spot in her heart for her beloved pets. Obituary Preview: Beverly Ann (Higgins) Gericke, wife, mother, community organizer, and businesswoman, peacefully passed away with her family at her side at the age of 86 on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Century Oaks in Appleton, Wisconsin.Born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, on November 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William Royce and Blanche Irene (Suthers) Higgins.She spent her childhood, and many times throughout her life, on the Door County Peninsula. She graduated from the Sturgeon Bay High School in 1953, and was active in the school's music department and played on its women's basketball team. On December 28, 1954, she married Robert Leroy Gericke on a beautiful winter evening at the Congregational Church in Sturgeon Bay, which was decorated for Christmas. They lovingly raised four children in 67 years of marriage, and she was immensely proud of her family.She attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and worked in the University's Department of Agriculture's laboratory - testing a wide range of dairy and brewery products.Her community service was an ever-important aspect and passion of her life, and she was a force for good in many organizations. Bev was a South Milwaukee School Board member, co-founder of the New Hope Nursery for Handicap Children, a regional representative and trainer for the Fox Valley Girl Scouts Council (and the leader of her daughter's troop), a Women's Club member, and a local Cub Scout and Boy Scout organizer. In addition, she was the founder and committed member of several community book clubs and a regular volunteer at the Menasha YMCA - where she oversaw the childcare and foodservice programs. She was an avid bridge player and genealogist.Her professional life included being the co-owner/developer and director of The Edgewood - an event venue and restaurant in Seymour, Wisconsin. Beverly was also a realtor at Bytof and Acre Realty and helped Fox Valley families find their homes for several years. She was an active part of the United Methodist Church in Seymour, where she sang for decades as an alto in the church's choir. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the church's Building Committee and helped lead the move to its' new home.Bev was a passionate Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers fan and loved following sports. She had a kind heart, an engaging and determined personality, with a warm soul that loved reading, sewing, crafts, gardening, camping, boating adventures, and sharing the outdoors with her family in Door County.She is survived by her children, Michael Gericke (Suzanne Zumpano), David Gericke (Melanie Creger), Sharon Molloy (Gericke), and Scott Gericke; and her four special grandchildren, Olivia and Austin Gericke, and Lindsay and Jaime Molloy.In addition to Beverly's parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Leroy Gericke; her brothers, Gene Higgins and William Higgins; and her sister, Joanne Higgins.Her life will be celebrated at a memorial service at the New Life United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 12, 2022.
