Diann Cupertino - December 15, 1950 - March 02, 2024

Departed: 03/02/2024 (Fayetteville)
Obituary Preview: Diann Cupertino of Fayetteville, Georgia was born in the Bronx, New York to Charlie and Lorraine Ritter on December 15, 1950. Diann spent her childhood and early married life in Edgewater Park in the Bronx, New York where her children were born. The family moved to Long Island, New York for a few years, before relocating to Peachtree City, Georgia in 1983.
Diann began her professional career in advertising sales in 1984, where she worked for almost the next four decades. She was employed by several local and regional newspapers in the area, most notably at This Week in Peachtree City / The Fayette County News and The Citizen Newspaper / Fayette Women Magazine. Diann was one of the very first employees at The Citizen in 1993 and remained there until she retired in 2020. She was respected by her coworkers, who considered Diann a mentor and friend.
During her time in marketing and advertising, Diann helped hundreds of businesses to grow and expand their reach. She was a consummate professional and an annoyingly frequent top-salesperson. She had a strong work ethic with an honest and forthright style that endeared Diann to her customers, and she considered many of her long-time customers her friends.
Diann was also involved in giving back to her local community. She was an active member of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce and attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. For several years prior to her cancer diagnosis, she volunteered her time on the “O Christmas Tea” committee with the Business Women of Fayette and Coweta, raising funds for the victims of domestic violence.
One of Diann’s personal missions was to help women who had been impacted by divorce. She would consult with women who were struggling emotionally and financially, including networking with her business contacts to provide assistance, so these women could reclaim their lives as strong independent women.
Diann’s favorite pastime was travel. She was happiest on a cruise ship, visiting beaches, dancing, gambling, and enjoying life. She also loved playing board games and card games with family and friends. Although the games were friendly, Diann was extremely competitive and especially enjoyed “beating the pants off” her adult children.
Diann is survived by her children, Lori Papp (husband Adam), most recently of Luxembourg in Europe and Dan Cupertino (wife Allison) of Fayetteville, GA; her beloved grandchildren, Cassandra and Ember Papp, and Sofia and Echo Cupertino; Diann’s younger sister, Marjorie Hooks; and loving extended family.

Dianne McKane Hulbert - May 02, 1938 - March 02, 2024

Departed: 03/02/2024 (Fayetteville)
Obituary Preview: Dianne Hulbert, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2024. Her life began and ended surrounded by love. She was born on May 2, 1938 - a “miracle” baby to parents Loretta and James, who after more than a decade of marriage, thought they couldn’t have children. And because of the long wait, Dianne, and later her sister Linda, were treated like princesses growing up. They spent their summers visiting aunts and uncles, who lived on the same street, or a few blocks over. They played “library” with their father’s books - and “Hopalong Cassidy” with their cousin Pat. They cherished the dolls their father sent them from overseas, while he was serving in World War II.
Dianne was also movie-star beautiful. She met her future husband, Frederick Hulbert, when she was in her late teens. He was a Marine who styled his hair like Frank Sinatra. He told his friends when he first saw her that he was going to marry her. And he did, though it took many gestures, like filling her doorstep with roses clipped from the side of the parkway, to win her heart. They married when she was 20 - a union that would last 50 years, until Frederick’s death. They had four children together, nine grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. She was the center of the family. A loyal fan at her children’s and grandchildren’s soccer games. A good cook, who believed in using Campbell’s soup and McCormick’s brown gravy pouches. And the secret source of unexpected cash for anyone who needed a little extra help. At the age of 50, Dianne fulfilled a lifelong dream and went back to school and became a nurse, where she comforted countless others. She loved the Kentucky Derby and was lucky enough to watch one run for the roses from the stands at Churchill Downs.
She loved her little dog Chloe, who was her constant companion for 14 years, and who was unofficially named “chief medical officer” for her stalwart supervision of Dianne’s care in her last few years.
Dianne traveled to Ireland, France and Italy, but loved South Carolina’s low country the best. This was her last trip before she died, which was made even more special by the extended family who joined her there. It’s also where her ashes will be scattered.
Dianne leaves behind a lifetime of people she touched with her beauty, grace, and unconditional love. Surely, Heaven got the better end of this deal. But until we see her again, she will always be in our hearts.
