Lauren Rachelle Cresswell - October 08, 1990 - April 15, 2024

Departed: 04/15/2024 (Jonesborough)
Obituary Preview: Lauren Rachelle Cresswell October 8, 1990-April 15, 2024
Lauren Rachelle Cresswell was born October 8, 1990 in Shreveport, LA.
Lauren was born with many limitations. As I held her when she was eight weeks old and listened to the dire predictions for her life, I ask God for two things: That she would understand love-know she was loved and be able to express it to others, and that she would be able to live her to the fullest, not as a China doll on a shelf. Throughout her whole life the Lord has been abundantly faithful to honor that request.
As a little girl, watching her Papa take his hat on and off could send her into the giggles, she thought it was so funny when Grandmommie pulled her glasses down on her face and peered at her. Lauren’s love for her Aunt Sha Sha was so obivious when you saw the smile that consumed her face when she saw her. If I heard her giggling, I knew to go see what Katie and Sarah where up to, as her laughter was a tell-tale sign they were into something they shouldn’t be. She fulfilled her big sister obligations to Emylee Grace. When Emylee was scared at night, she would go get in the bed with Lauren to find comfort. She even contributed to her brother Zach’s education by allowing him to tag along in her classes which resulted in him learning sign language as a baby. She has truly been a blessing in the lives of her family.
When we moved to Tennessee, her life became even more enriched. It was here Kaylee, Lauren's best friend came into our lives. Kaylee has taken Lauren on girls trips, shopping trips and sleepovers. Lauren was included in the bridal celebrations, shopping with her KK in Nashville for the wedding dress, dining at White Limozeen, along with so many swim dates, playing with Cam, and Lauren was even a bridesmaid in KK’s wedding. Laurens life has been blessed beyond measure with Kaylee and her family’s unconditional love and this mama could never fully express her thankfulness.
Lauren has climbed mountains, in her wheelchair, swam in rivers, spent time at the beach, gone camping, and been on too many shopping trips to count. She has been surrounded by love through family and friendships.
On April the 15, 2023, at the age of 33 and surround by family and friends in her home in Johnson City, TN, Lauren went to be with Jesus. Where we know she is running, dancing, smiling and flirting throughout Heaven.
Lauren was preceded in death by her sister, Stephanie Cresswell. She is survived by her mama, Joan (Rick) Rodgers, father Eugene Cresswell, sisters, Sarah (Aaron) Cunanan, Katelyn (Mike) Wackenhut, Emylee Grace Bamburg, Kacie Cresswell, brother, Zachary Bamburg, Grandparents Edgar and Gloria Martens, Aunts Carolyn Thompson (Jason), Sharla Martens, Uncle Brandon (Amber) Martens and their six children. A special joy in Laurens life were babies and she loved her nieces and nephew’s Harper Cunanan, Samson Cunanan, Ester Cunanan and Evelyn Wackenhut. Lauren is also survived by her dearest of friends, Kaylee Lovell and her husband Amad Lovell. The family is so grateful to Kaylee Lovell, Olivia Garrison, Briana Horn, Olivia Frazier and Madeline Shaver for the love and joy they have brought to Lauren’s life these past few years. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. at 520 East Elk, Elizabethton, Tenn. Purple balloons will mark the spot. Purple or bright clothing is encouraged!
Thank you all for your love and support during this time.

Departed: 03/07/2024 (Jonesborough)
Obituary Preview: BriAnna Pinkerton Sidney, affectionately known as Bri, passed away during the early morning hours of March 7, 2024, at the youthful age of 35. She was a resident of Kingsport, TN. Born to Bonnie La Fluer and Tim Coleman on July 29,1988, in Apex, NC, BriAnna had a head full of dark hair and eyes as blue as the Carolina sky.
Early in her life, BriAnna loved being a “little mama” to her younger siblings as she was her mother’s biggest helper and the protecter of her little sister and brothers. Bri excelled in academics, earning her high school diploma then furthering her education by obtaining an Associate Degree in Business.
Without a doubt, BriAnna’s greatest achievements were her children; Solomon (2008), and Izabella (2010). BriAnna’s heart was one that radiated love for her children and those closest to her.
Sadly, BriAnna’s journey was cut short, but she is now reunited with her father, Tim, and her grandmother, whom she affectionately called Billiemama, who preceded her in death. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she left behind: her beloved children, Solomon and Izabella; her mother, Bonnie La Fluer (Christopher); her siblings, Brandon, Brooke, and Noah; as well as her stepsiblings; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were blessed to know her.

Stephen Michael Haselroth - April 15, 1954 - January 08, 2024

Departed: 01/08/2024 (Jonesborough)
Obituary Preview: LCDR USN (Ret) Stephen Michael Haselroth, age 69, of Chuckey, TN passed from this life on January 8, 2024, surrounded by his family following a short illness.
Steve, as he was known to family and friends, was born in the Army Hospital at Ft. Ord, CA on April 15, 1954, to the late Oliver Haselroth and Anita Louise (Haselroth) Sprick. Shortly after, the family moved cross-country to the state of Missouri where Steve began his formal schooling that culminated in graduation from Jefferson City High School in Jefferson City, MO in 1972. His formal schooling was not over in Jefferson City. With a scholarship provided by the ROTC, he went on to receive his Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Missouri Columbia in 1976.
His desire was to teach art, but shortly after graduating from UMC, he became interested in missions and attended Sunset School of Preaching and Sunset School of Missions in Lubbock, TX. It was in Lubbock that he met his wife, Janet. He received his Certificate of Ordination in Lubbock in 1980 upon completion of the program.
Following a short stint with a church in Western Oklahoma, his educational interests turned to public health and by 1986 he had successfully completed a Master’s in Public Health from Oklahoma University and by the end of 1987 he obtained an MBA, also from Oklahoma University. He worked as Assistant Administrator at what is now McAlester Regional Health Center while completing his MBA.
Shortly after completion of the MBA, he set his sights on making the US Navy a career and met the requirements for Naval Officer’s Candidate School in Rhode Island in 1988. He graduated from OCS as a Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) and in no time was promoted to Lieutenant (LT).
He was first stationed in Norfolk, VA, and following Desert Storm participated in a Desert Shield deployment that took him to the Middle East on the USS Saipan amphibious ship with the title of Flight Surgeon. This tour took him to several ports there such as Egypt, Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, and others.
Following his return from Desert Shield, and after some time in Virginia Beach, the family was moved to Puerto Rico for their first overseas duty station at Roosevelt Roads Naval Station from 1996 to 1999. It was there that he received the promotion to Lieutenant Commander (LCDR). At the time of Steve’s promotion, they returned to the states for a short stay and then began their second overseas stint in Sicily at Sigonella Naval Air Station from 1999 to 2001. Their third and final, to Okinawa, Japan at Camp Courtney, began in late 2001 and lasted until 2004, at which time they returned to the States and relocated to the Chicagoland area, where Steve was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Station. It was here in 2006, after 20 years with the US Navy, he retired, making the family’s home in the Greeneville, TN area.
Steve loved to be an active participant in the various cultures where they lived, especially in Europe, more specifically Italy. So, when they made the move to the mountains of Eastern Tennessee, he decided to get some goats and chickens for the small family farm and even had a period of time when he tried his hand at beekeeping. Nobody had better honey! He loved working with the goats and the chickens, and they loved having him as a friend.
After retirement from the US Navy, he decided to go back to his first love. He taught art full time in the Greene County Public School System from 2009 to 2014. Steve also loved drawing portraits of friends and family and others he held in high regard.
Steve also had a great interest and desire to pursue learning, in various settings and on his own, the Hebraic roots of his faith, specifically what is found from the Bible in all sixty-six books, Genesis to Revelation. He always enjoyed studying the whole Bible and fellowshipping with likeminded people who shared similar beliefs.
Steve is survived by his wife of the home, Janet; his son, John Haselroth of Cortez, CO, and two grandchildren, JJ and Savannah; son, David Haselroth and wife, Bethanie Jo of Gray, TN; and Joseph Haselroth of Johnson City, TN. He is also survived by a sister, Lynn Walker of Louisville, KY, and half-brother, Colin Sprick of Columbia, MO.
