Beverly Ann Martel - September 14, 1938 - April 29, 2023

Departed: 04/29/2023 (Lowell)
Obituary Preview: Beverly Ann Martel, 84, passed away with her family by her side on April 29, 2023. Friends call her Bev, her grandkids call her Grammy, her great grandkids call her Nanni, and her husband called her his Greekypoo.
Born on September 14, 1938, Beverly was the daughter of Emile Lebrun and Georgia Lebrun (Tsatsious). She was adored by so many people in her life because she was kind and caring yet tough and hilarious.
She loved spending time with her family more than anything. She loved animals (especially her pets Zoey, Fluffy, and Nino), bingo, penny slots, oldies music, and was always singing, dancing, and joking. She had a huge appetite and a big personality for such a little, 4'11 lady. Her family finds peace knowing she is with her late husband, our Pepe, Robert Charles Martel who passed in 2019. They spent 45 years together and she talked about how much she missed him and how much she loved him daily.
Beverly leaves behind her daughter, Margo Martel, and husband, Joseph Tarmey Sr; Her grandchildren, Kayleigh Wright and Garret Wright, Lauren Tarmey and her partner Jarred Blood, Joseph Tarmey Jr. and his partner Kayla Autino, Robert Tarmey and his wife Natalie Bergeron-Tarmey, Chance Tarmey and her partner Michael Plummer, and Sarah and Ray Chun; She was a loving great grandmother to Evan, Averie, Weston, Ellie, Zayn, and Maddox. She will be missed by her kinfolk, Denise Bourget and Kim Alexander, her godson TJ Blydenburg and his wife Terri; So many family members on the Tsatsious side too numerous to mention, many in-laws, nieces, and nephews, her favorites being Krystal, Andrew, Drew, and Donovan Witter; Beverly really came to love her care team like family, who cannot be thanked enough for helping her remain independent in her home and for putting up with all of her charm and sass- Migdaliz, Suzy, Ashley, and Kathleen. Please join us for a memorial service to celebrate the life of Beverly. We will gather together on Monday, May 8th, from 4-7pm, at Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, in Lowell, Massachusetts. Bring your fondest memories of Beverly to share with family and friends

Diane Therese Connell - October 30, 1963 - February 13, 2023

Departed: 02/13/2023 (Lowell)
Obituary Preview: Diane Therese Connell, age 59, of Boxborough, MA, passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, on Monday afternoon, February 13, 2023, following a brief illness resulting from a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer.
Born in Lowell on October 30, 1963 and raised in Westford, Diane was the beloved fourth daughter and seventh child of ten children born to Rita G. (Vigneault) Connell and the late William D. Connell. She graduated from Franco American School in 1977, Academy of Notre Dame in 1981 and Merrimack College in 1986, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics.
Diane was industrious and self-reliant from an early age. During her school years, aged ten to fifteen, she worked alongside her siblings both at their father’s service station and her parents’ farm. From the age of sixteen to twenty-two, while continuing to work at the farm when needed, she also worked as many hours as she could get alongside three of her siblings at DeMoulas Supermarkets in Nashua, NH.
After college, Diane found her calling in health care services whereby she touched many people’s lives. She always worked two jobs, one primarily with developmentally delayed adults and another with elderly adults with age-related difficulties. The common thread in her almost four decades of service to people with disabilities and the elderly in need, was that she cared deeply about her clients, gave them excellent care, treated them with dignity and respect, and was committed to providing services that benefitted her clients, eased concerns of her client’s family, and added value to her employer’s business. Diane’s compassion, good nature and dedication to others, particularly to her late, disabled twin sister to whom she was assiduously devoted, brought much happiness and fulfillment to her life.
Diane loved musical theater, was well informed of national, world and alternative news, and freely shared her knowledge and interest in homeopathy and natural remedies for everyday illnesses with family and friends. She was intelligent with an impressive vocabulary, owing, no doubt, to the fact that, as a child, she frequently read the dictionary. Diane had a quick wit, a great sense of humor and was generous to a fault, typically putting the needs of others before those of her own.
Diane was a spiritually aware person and a source of love and light to her family and friends. She was loved by many people; and to say that she will be missed is truly an understatement.
Besides her father, Diane was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, John L. and Catherine A. (Gower) Connell, her maternal grandparents, Alfred J. and Blanche Y. (Bergeron) Vigneault and her beloved twin sister, Denise J. Connell.
In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by eight of her siblings: William D. “Angel” Connell, Jr. and his wife, Maryanne, of Providence, RI; Camille B. Connell-Magaw of Westford; Francis X. Connell and his wife, Molle, of Anniston, AL; Attorney Lise R. Connell Blake and her husband, James, of Westford; Dr. Richard D. Connell and his wife, Nancy, of Boston; Christine A. Keefe and her husband, James, of Westford; Paul R. Connell and his wife, Linda, of Westford; and James M. Connell and his wife, Dorin, of Stonington, Connecticut; 19 nieces and nephews; 9 grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins. Relatives and friends will be received at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 North Main Street, Westford, on Thursday, February 23, from 4 to 8 PM. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church on Friday, February 24 at 10 AM. Kindly meet at the Church. Interment in St. Catherine Cemetery, Westford. Arrangements in the care of the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell, MA. 978-458-6841. Zachary C. Cardone - October 15, 1991 - February 08, 2023

Departed: 02/08/2023 (Lowell)
Obituary Preview: Loving Son, Brother, Partner, Friend
Zachary “Ziggy” Charles Cardone, formerly a longtime resident of Westford, died suddenly on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, at his home in Dorchester, MA.
He left this planet for a life among the stars, a possibility he had contemplated often during his brief lifespan. He lived his 31 years the way you’re supposed to…. not settling for anything less than what is deserved.
Zach loved technology, and brought to fruition a career as a Sr. Sales Engineer for Automation Anywhere - a job he found both energizing and challenging. If you spent enough time with him, you felt his presence and the passion he’d bring to any given conversation. Zach soaked up all the little things that matter the most in this life. His giggle was contagious, making you howl until your belly hurt. He was the first one on the dance floor and the last one off. He cherished nature, the planet, and the outdoors. He dedicated time every day to be active and work out. (No, he didn’t skip leg day.) He spoke candidly and told the people in his life “I love you” and that they matter. He walked, ran, yelled, laughed, cried, hugged, celebrated, with his parents Ron and Diane, alongside his best friend and brother, Craig, all of whom cared for him as deeply as anyone possibly could. He was loved by an amazing woman, Morgan Levine. A love deeper and more sincere than anyone could hope for in this lifetime. (Maybe except for his rescue dog Helen.)
Now he’s looking back at us smiling as he rides his motorcycle through the stars in search of the aliens he always knew existed. Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Zachary’s life at the Westford Regency, 219 Littleton Ave., Westford, MA, on Saturday, February 25th from 1 to 5 PM. Casual dress only!
If you had planned to bring or send flowers, please instead donate to The Ocean Cleanup Non-Profit Organization, 228 East 45th Street, Suite 9E, New York, NY 10017 (online at: The Ocean Cleanup), a cause Zachary was passionate about. Jennifer Gill Aszling - August 17, 1948 - January 05, 2023

Departed: 01/05/2023 (Lowell)
Obituary Preview: Jill's Funeral Service will be webcast from the Funeral Home. To view her service, scroll down to the "Watch Webcast" link below Loving Wife, Sister, Aunt, Friend
Jennifer Gill “Jill” Aszling, 74, a longtime resident of Arlington, MA, and more recently Acton, entered into rest on January 5, 2023, from complications associated with diabetes mellitus that she developed at age 12. Jill was the beloved wife of William R. Shek, DVM, PhD, with whom she had celebrated 40 years of marriage on July 9th of last year.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, August 17, 1948, a daughter of the late Richard and Carolyn (Gill) Aszling. Jill was raised in Old Greenwich, Connecticut on Long Island Sound. She earned her BA degree, majoring in English, from Skidmore College in 1971.
In 1976, Jill moved from Indianapolis, IN to Ithaca, NY to become the Registrar at the Cornell University Johnson Art Museum. That same year, Jill was introduced to Bill, who was a student at Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine, though several years would go by before they became a couple and began their long journey of love and devotion. They married on July 9, 1982, in Ithaca, NY and moved to Arlington, MA. Jill accepted a registrar position at the List Visual Art Center at MIT, where she worked for almost 20 years. She spent the remainder of her career at the Masonic Museum of Our National Heritage in Lexington, retiring at age 62.
Jill was an active member of the Arlington community, serving as chair of the Arlington Arts Council, and as a member of the board of directors for the Old Schwamb Mill Preservation Trust. She was also a member of the New England Museum Association and Registrar’s Association.
By 1988, Jill’s diabetes had caused her kidneys to fail. That year, she received an experimental kidney-pancreas transplant at Massachusetts General Hospital, with the hope that the normal blood glucose levels maintained by the pancreas would halt or slow the progression of Jill’s devastating diabetic complications. It worked for 35 years, thanks not only to the efforts of Jill’s doctors, but also because of Jill’s indomitable spirit and determination.
A master knitter, crocheter and seamstress, Jill’s favorite projects included handmaking dolls and Christmas stockings for her beloved nieces. Jill had an amazing mind. Her sponge-like memory was particularly helpful to Bill when he needed to find something he misplaced, which happened often. Her sense of humor was legendary, quick, and quirky, often keeping everyone around her in stitches. Like her father, Jill had a facility and talent for writing. She enjoyed composing clever limericks and wrote the lyrics to musical parodies that Bill performed at his brothers’ weddings.
Jill was outgoing and social, relishing the comradery of her coworkers and friends, whose love brought her strength and resilience. Most of all, family meant the world to Jill, and she cherished every moment spent with them. May her memory be for a blessing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters, Kristen A. Howard and her husband Robert, and Gretchen G. Aszling, of Maynard, a brother, Philip E. Aszling and his wife Sheila of Chicago, IL, nieces Ingrid, Karen, Tina, and Gretta, nephews Richard and Nicholas, and nine great-nephews.
Jill Aszling's Funeral Service will be held at the Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell, on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Noon.
Interment in Temple Beth El Cemetery, Chelmsford. Please omit flowers.
Following the burial, family will receive friends at Congregation Beth Israel, 6 Dundee Park, Andover, with a Shiva Minyan Service at 7 PM. Friends may make memorial donations in memory of Jill to: Visit Mass General Brigham Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Care Dimension
