Tony graduated from Southwest Onslow High School in the Class of 1989. He played football throughout his Middle School and High School years where he was recognized throughout the County and statewide for his stellar performance. Tony began his employment with United Parcel Service (UPS)  on August 10, 1992 where he became a valued part of the UPS Family for 31 Years. During his employment with UPS, he received a "safe driving award" for 24 consecutive Years. Tony loved cars and was a member of the Old Skool Car Club where on August 15, 2015, his Camaro, "Bessie", won 1st Place for "Pit Stop" award in a local car exhibition and competition. Tony attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Wilmington where he enjoyed reading the Word and encouraging others with Scriptures.
Tony will be forever cherished by: his loving wife, Chicquet Newkirk Hines; his beloved Parents, Joseph Hines, Jr. and Dorothy Hines; four siblings, Edwina Hines, Sherry Hines, Wendell Hines (Alicia) and Cassandra Hines; nephews and nieces, Sade' Hines, Quinton Braggs, Akwan Hines, Devronn Smith, Cherrelle Hines, Emmanuel Hines, Briauna McKoy and Antonio Hines; Mother-in-Law.
