Obituary Preview: Patricia Ann Auchmoody of Wallkill N.Y. a long time resident passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2022, she was 96 years old.
Patty was the daughter of James H. and Edna J. (Keane) Gibson. She was born in Newbugh N.Y.  on July 12th 1925.
She is predeceased by her husband Robert, her daughter Linda, her two brothers Jimmy and Bruce and her beloved sister Barbara Antonelli and her husband Frank and several sister in laws.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul and Robert and their respective families.
Patty lived her life as she wanted. She loved her family, her home and was a wonderful cook. Patty was always the life of the party, she loved to dance and had a way of making everyone laugh.
She was loved by all and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. ***Visitation date and time has been changed to Wednesday, January 12, 2022 between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 AM at the Wallkill Funeral Home 12 Bona Ventura Ave, Wallkill N.Y.  12589

Chris H. McHugh - August 17, 1945 - February 14, 2021

Obituary Preview: Chris H. McHugh of Wallkill, NY, a longtime resident of the area, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021, in Newburgh. He was 75.
The son of Jesse and Harriette Chrisman McHugh, he was born August 17, 1945 in Newburgh.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Jesse H. and Thomas L. He is survived by his wife Marilyn and several nieces and nephews.
Chris was graduated from the University of Miami in Florida with a Bachelor’s in Education.  While he enjoyed many jobs, he worked mostly as an insurance broker and a real estate broker.
He had been an avid tennis player and later a golfer having had memberships in Apple Greens and more recently Osiris Country Club. For many years he played with his Osiris friends during the winter months in Hilton Head, SC. Most recently, he was an active member of the Wallkill Lions Club.
Chris is survived by his wife Marilyn at home in Wallkill. Birthdays and holidays were unimportant to him; anniversaries were special. He always said he was most proud of their 51st wedding anniversary which they celebrated last year and often told his friends how lucky he was. He loved Wallkill and his many friends.  Having lived in California and Massachusetts for many years, he wanted to move back home to Wallkill.
Services will take place privately at the convenience of the family.

Obituary Preview: Martha Belle “Marty” Seaman (Schoonmaker) died peacefully at home on Dec. 4th in Wallkill, NY at the age of 82.
Marty is survived by her sister Mary Lou Schoonmaker of Wallkill. Her niece Marty and husband Frank Rossner of Altamont, NY and their family. Her nephew Rick Schoonmaker of Wallkill and his family. Her step sons, Gary and Karma Seaman, Glenn and Bette Seaman, Gregg and Courtney Seaman and Randy and Debbie Seaman and their families. Her sister-in-law, Barbara Swann from North Carolina. Also, cousins from around the country.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Seaman and her parents, Gerow and Catherine (Smith)Schoonmaker and her brother Richard G. Schoonmaker and wife Rosie of Wallkill.
Marty was born on March 5, 1938 in Newburgh, NY to Gerow and Catherine Schoonmaker. She graduated from Wallkill High School in 1955.  She went on to Nursing School in Lewiston, Maine to receive her RN degree. She was an OR nurse in Washington DC and Kingston, NY. On Nov. 28th,1970 she married Donald E. Seaman. Together they enjoyed winter sports, being outdoors and spending time at their cabins at Wolf Lake and Lake George.  She loved travelling and took many wonderful trips with her sister, Mary Lou. She has loved being a part of the Wallkill Reformed Church community from singing in the choir, teaching and leading the bell choir which she was honored to be a part of. She has always enjoyed helping others and has a love for animals. So, as we say good-bye to her, let’s remember her as we sing our Christmas carols, light our Christmas trees, look out our window on a snow day and toboggan down a big scary hill!

Hedy was a strong, nurturing woman who loved her family unconditionally. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, stockcar races, camping, polka music and helping her friends and community.
The daughter of Alois Verderber and Johanna Wittine Verderber, she was born on June 26, 1931 in Yugoslavia.
Hedy was a lifelong member of the Shawangunk Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and the St. Benedict’s Altar Rosary Society.
Survivors include her daughter Nancy Riley of Wallkill, niece Andrea Verderber Hall of Benson, NC (who she thought of as a daughter)and her husband Edwin Hall, grandson Lindon R. Eaton III and wife Kelly Caparaso Eaton of Wallkill, granddaughter Kimberly J. MacEntee of Wallkill; great grandchildren Justin M. Eaton of Killeen, TX, Meghan R. MacEntee of Wallkill, Natalie R. MacEntee of Wallkill, Walker G. Eaton of Wallkill; great great grandson Ezra M. Eaton of Killeen, TX; brother Joseph Verderber and wife Donna Krom Verderber of Walden, NY; sisters-in-law Anneliese Verderber of Glendale, NY, Anita Chiappa of Bound Brock, NJ; brothers-in-law Steve Byelick of Hope, NJ, Joseph Byelick of Dunnelen, NJ, James Byelick and wife Lorraine of Stirling, NJ; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband George F. Byelick, brothers William, Frederick and Richard, sister Lillian, sister-in-law Gudrun Byelick, brothers-in-law John Byelick and John Chiappa.

Obituary Preview: Terrence A. Taylor of Wallkill, NY, a retired small business owner and a longtime resident of the area passed away on October 10, 2020 at home in Wallkill.  He was 75.The son of the late Harold Taylor and Virginia Cuggy Taylor, he was born January 9, 1945 in Brooklyn.
Terry was a graduate of Chaminade High School, Mineola, NY, Class of 1962 and graduated cum laude from SUNY New Paltz Class of 1973. He spent 7 ½ years in the US Navy as a Machinist’s Mate on the U.S.S Patrick Henry and was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer First Class. He was a member of the VFW Post# 8645, Knights of Pythias, Mensa, Wallkill Ambulance Corp, Board member, coach, and umpire/referee of Wallkill Area Little League and Wallkill Soccer Club.
Terry had an unmatched zest for life, never shied away from lending a hand, always stopped to smell the flowers, but hated weeding the garden. He loved talking and spending time with people of all ages, he loved music, dancing, poetry, sports, politics, gardening, road trips, and adventures.  He was a voracious reader with an unending curiosity in everything. His friendly smile and twinkling eyes will be greatly missed. Survivors include his Wife, Marian at home Son, Ernest Taylor and his wife, Elizabeth Son, Joshua Taylor and his wife, Allene Son Benjamin Taylor Son, Patrick Taylor and his wife, Anniefer Daughter, Ellen Jones and her husband, Jonathan 10 Grandchildren Sister, Judith Zupp

He was the son of George and Elizabeth Parrish Oppenheimer.     Jeff was a retired truck driver for Ryder Integrated Logistics in Rock Tavern, NY and was also a retired police officer with the Town of Shawangunk Police Department.      Jeff enjoyed camping, boating and fishing with his wife and dogs in the Adirondacks. He also really enjoyed just being home working in the garden and yard and playing with his dogs.     Jeff is survived by his wife, Susan Wickes, of 14 years at home. Jeff is also survived by his sisters MaryJane Larson (Richard) of Livonia Michigan and Janice Schimmel of South Lyon, Michigan, Daughters Arienne Patzelt (Doug) of Johnson, NY, Morgan Escano (Richard) of Middletown, NY, Cara Oppenheimer of Newburgh, NY and his son Jeffrey Oppenheimer of Newburgh, NY. Jeff had 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his brother Hugh Oppenheimer and his daughter Andrea Lanzillotti.     As per Jeff's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Private distribution of his ashes will take place at the families convenience.      Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Millspaugh Funeral Home.      In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer society, American Heart Association or a charity of your choice in Jeff's name.

Philip W. Eignor - December 28, 1930 - August 04, 2019

Obituary Preview: Philip W. Eignor of Beavercreek, OH, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019, in Beavercreek. He was 88.
The son of the late John and Pearl Gorman Eignor, he was born December 28, 1930 in Wallkill, NY. Phil worked as an electrical engineer for Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, after serving in the U.S. Marines.
He was the widower of Lorraine M. (Hamilton) Eignor.
He grew up in Wallkill and graduated from Wallkill High School. He loved baseball and the Yankees in particular throughout his life. He also loved old cars and saved several awaiting restoration at his parents’ home in Wallkill and later in his garage in Beavercreek. Some still await restoration.
He and his sister and brother-in-law, Hope and Harry Weaver, along with his wife, traveled to car shows in Carlisle, Pa., looking for old cars and car parts, just one of many interests he acquired through his life.
Phil converted his love of math and patterns to betting on horses and trying to unlock the pattern of random number generators in slot machines.
Phil enjoyed life and, most of all, deeply loved his family. His nephews and nieces remember his smiling face and for some younger ones, his penchant for tossing them in the air and then catching them safely every single time. His grandchildren remember his trips to King’s Island to entertain them, family visits to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, his patience for helping them putting puzzles together and his enjoyment as he allowed the kids to drive his old tractor around his half-acre in Beavercreek.
Survivors include his daughter, Nancy Smith and her husband, Thad, of Ohio;  grandchildren Philip W. Eignor III and wife Lizzie, Melanie Holloway and her husband Eric, Andrew Eignor, Danielle Balsley, Wayne Ritter Jr., Brittany Ritter, Adam Smith, Thad Smith III, Chaz Smith, Zack Smith; and great-grandchildren Fiona and Owen Holloway, Jay and Daniel Balsley and Philip W. Eignor; and several nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are his sisters, Hope Weaver and her husband Harry; Jeanne Gervasi and her late husband, Rich; and June Hecht, wife of John Hecht. He was also pre-deceased by a son. Philip W. Eignor Jr., and two sisters, Doris Derringer, wife of George Derringer Sr., and by Margaret Eignor.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bona Ventura Ave., Wallkill, NY 12589. A service will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bruynswick Rural Cemetery in Wallkill, NY.

A competitive runner and archer in his younger years, Gary found a passion for officiating high school trackmeets and substitute teaching following his retirement from Yellow Freight in Maybrook, NY. His love for bowhunting and everything outdoors was second only to that he had for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Diane (Scotto), his son Jeremy and his wife Vanessa (Lembo), his son Timothy and his wife Kelly (Reeves), his three beloved and cherished grandsons; Gabriel, Cooper,    Asher, his sister Kathy Rubinstein, brother Frank and several nieces and nephews.

Tim is survived by two daughters, Bridget Ahearn of Wallkill and Kathleen Fitzgerald (Michael) of Germantown, Maryland, as well as three granddaughters, Margaret, Caroline, and Elizabeth Fitzgerald. He is also survived by one sister, Virginia M. Carroll, and one niece, Anastasia Guenther.

The son of the late Pauline and Jason Auchmoody, he was born in Clintondale N.Y. in 1925. He was a WWII veteran and a proud member of the American Legion and a previous member of the Masonic order.
Bob was retired from the NYS Department of Corrections, at the Shawangunk Facility in Wallkill. He enjoyed many years of retirement doing what he loved to do, which included hunting and fishing.

Justine was born in Newburgh, NY on February 28, 1924.  She was the daughter of James and Catherine Heroy. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and the Spencer Business School.  She was employed at Stewart Field in Newburgh during World War II where she met her husband who was stationed  there with the Army Air Corps.  Together they later opened the Kobelt Par Three Golf Course.
Justine's husband, Theodore, and son, Theodore Jr., predeceased her.  She is survived by daughters: Patricia Kobelt, Jacqueline Kobelt and Cynthia Chesser and her husband, William, as well as five grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers James Heroy, Harry Heroy, John Heroy, Ray Heroy and sister, Janet Baranski.
Justine was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who had a wonderful sense of humor.  She never missed a family celebration and was always delighted by visits from grandchildren and their little ones.
During the years the Kobelt Par Three Golf Course was in operation Justine often waited on customers.  She enjoyed gardening and watching the golfers.  Justine learned folk art painting later in life and passed on her love of art to her grandchildren.  She always considered herself a Newburgh city girl at heart and enjoyed hearing of the restorations taking place in Newburgh.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 5-8pm. at the Wallkill Funeral Home, 12 Bonaventura Ave. Wallkill, NY.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Charles Borromeo, Rt. 44-55, Gardiner, NY on Thursday, September 28 at 11am.
