Is there a difference between a funeral service and a memorial service?

What should I do if a death occurs at home?

If a death occurs at home and the deceased was not under hospice care, you must call 911 to report the death. If the deceased was under hospice care, notify the hospice nurse, who will then guide you through the next steps. In either case, contact Midwest Funeral Home soon after, and we will assist you with the necessary arrangements.

Can Midwest Funeral Home help with a service for a loved one who has donated their body to science?

What can be done with the cremated remains of a loved one?

Cremated remains can be kept in an urn, buried, scattered in a permitted place, placed in a columbarium, or incorporated into various keepsakes or jewelry, depending on the family’s preference and applicable laws.

How can I ensure my loved one's final wishes are carried out?

One of the best ways to ensure your loved one’s final wishes are honored is through pre-planning. If your loved one has not pre-planned, gathering any documents or written instructions they have left, and having conversations with family members about known wishes, can guide the process.
