Hermine Maria Gagnon - Unknown - March 14, 2022

Departed: 03/14/2022 (Saint Agatha)
Obituary Preview: Hermine Maria Hartig, 89 of St. Agatha passed away at her daughter’s home in Waynesville, Missouri, surrounded by friends and family in her final days. Hermine became an angel on March 14, 2022 at 2:25 pm. She is survived by her daughters, Elisabeth Duplissie of Waynesville, Missouri and Ursula Hartig of Woodland, Maine. Hermine leaves a lasting legacy of 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Hermine lived through and experienced the aftermath of World War II. The military played a major part in her life producing both Elisabeth and her sister, Ursula from the marriages of two soldiers James Philips and Albert Gagnon who brought her and the girls over from Germany in 1962 and moved them to Ft. Bliss, Texas. In the US she learned the art of bowling and wowed the leagues she was on. She garnered more than 80 trophies during her bowling reign, which spanned over 30 years.
Minnie was a prolific knitter as sweaters, hat, slippers, and socks were a holiday gift staple and she took orders for a clothing boutique. Ever the Maverick, she knitted from no pattern and let the design grow organically like her garden. Minnie’s tomatoes, beets, celery, and green peppers were so popular that her roadside garden stand saw repeat vacationers, year after year looking for plants, canned beets, and pickles. Many, many folks will miss her jars of raspberry, strawberry, blueberry and currant jams and jellies.
After raising her family and through her ‘retirement years’ Minnie became very active with the Gold Star Wives organization and American Legion Auxiliary. For the next 40 years, she held the president’s position in the Van Buren chapter from 1976-1977, and 7th District presidency in 1977-1978. She also was a part of Ladies of St. Anne which started in 1993. Simultaneously, she was in the Madawaska Lioness Club, and was awarded Lioness of the year in 1992/93 and Lion of the year 1998/99. She served as Vice President from 1998 through 2000.
Minnie’s independence was interrupted by Parkinson’s Disease in her mid-70s and after fifteen years, took its final toll on March 14, 2022.
Hermine, a tenacious immigrant, daughter, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, enjoy your peace. We love you.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 in the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church of St. Robert, MO.  Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery of Waynesville.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of Memorial Chapels and Crematory of Waynesville / St. Robert Missouri.

A wonderful chef, Connie was the Maine State Champion at the National Chicken Cooking Contest and enjoyed representing our state with her delicious Lemon Mint Chicken Thighs recipe. She shared many of her favorite recipes in several print and online publications over the years. Despite an active life pursuing business and creative ventures, Connie was a devoted and loving mother. She was a great Mom!
Connie married the love of her life and soulmate, Jerold Tucker on December 4, 1987 and established their homestead at Madawaska Lake for over 30 years. Together they shared a love of rowing, the call of the loons, and the peace and stillness of Madawaska Lake. Connie took gentle and loving care of Jerry in the years after he was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's Disease. She is forever grateful for the special care he received from the staff of Aroostook Hospice and takes comfort in knowing he is loved and cared for currently at St. Joseph's Memory Care. Connie and Jerry's love for each other is boundless, and will live forever in the hearts that knew and loved them.
She is predeceased by her parents, Gerald and Helen Weissinger of Caribou, Maine. She is survived by her husband Jerry of Frenchville, Maine; son Tomas Simon of San Jose, Calif., his spouse Kate and their children Owen and Julia; son Mark Simon of Boston, Mass., his partner Nikki and their children Kai and Teo; daughter Bennet Flinner of Hollis, Maine, her spouse Kevin and their children Sameena, Tristyn and Colton; sister Carol Simonetta of Pennsylvania; brother Mark Weissinger of Georgia; sister Linda Lupowitz of Florida; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Madawaska, ME—Ferdinand “Nooky” Daigle, Jr. passed suddenly at his apartment in Madawaska, Maine on July 6, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born May 9, 1940, the son of Ferdinand Sr. and Jeannette Cyr Daigle.
Born in Lewiston, he was the oldest of 6 siblings. He attended Madawaska High School and graduated in 1958. He then entered the National Guards and later worked on the railroad.   He later opened his own service shop Automotive Electric where he built his reputation as the go-to man for precision work on starters and alternators. He was proud and extremely particular in the quality of work in which he performed for his customers. To this day, there are many starters and alternators on equipment in working condition.
If he wasn’t working, he could be found at his camp in Lac Jerry. He loved sitting and looking out at the lake while listening to his music. Later, he retired to the Mason Acadienne in Madawaska where he spent the rest of his days. Between his days spent surfing Roku and the internet he’d often find his way to visit his son and grandkids at work. He could sit for hours at their desks watching them work, many times not saying much at all but enjoying being in their presence. Since his passing, many people have said how incredibly proud he was of them and all they’d accomplished.
