Bob, a native of Oklahoma City, was born on June 15, 1959, to Milford and Dorothy Light. He was a proud Northwest Classen High School graduate, where he first crossed paths with his future wife, Valicia Neitzel. Their union in November, 1980, was blessed with a daughter, Terri Lynn, in 1981. Bob's professional journey led him to the signage industry, where he thrived as a workflow specialist, leaving a lasting impact during his tenure at S&S Promotions, Inc.
Bob's love for sports was unparalleled, with a particular fondness for ice hockey, college football, and auto racing. His passion for winning extended beyond the spectator's seat, as he captained the 1997 Sooner State Games gold medal-champion roller hockey team. However, it was in the realm of racing radio-controlled cars that Bob truly shone, demonstrating his exceptional skill and dedication.

His talent was undeniable, and he quickly ascended through the regional ranks, establishing himself as a formidable competitor in Oklahoma and Texas. His success continued to soar, with notable achievements including being the top qualifier in the ROAR 1/12th-scale national championship race in 1986 and representing the United States at the IFMAR World Championship in Las Vegas, where he finished sixth. His dedication, skill, and love for the sport were truly remarkable, and his achievements will forever be a source of pride for his family, friends, and the R/C racing community.
Bob won consecutive 1/10th-scale On-Road National Championships in 1988 and 1989 and the NORRCA Sprint Car Dirt Oval Championship in 1990.
In 1992, Bob dominated the NORRCA Oval National Championships, earning Top Qualifier and race wins on pavement and dirt. He repeated as pavement champion in 1993. After traveling the world, racing in locales such as Singapore, the Netherlands, and Japan, Bob returned to competing locally, where he rarely lost at his home track, Competition R/C.

He is survived by his daughter, Terri Bosnyak, son-in-law Barry Bosnyak, and grandsons Henry and Oliver; his parents, Milford and Dorothy Light; brother, Charles; brother, Jason and wife Kelly Rains; many cousins; and a large extended family of racers, race fans, close friends, and co-workers.
