Her love for the Lord was exemplified as she actively served as a member of the usher board. She retired from Bob’s Candies as a Machine Operator. During her free time, she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her spouse Leonard Dean Johnson Sr., her son Master Clifford Johnson, and her siblings Junior Sparks, Mr. W. B. Williams, Mr. Robert Lee Williams, Mr. L. J. Williams, Ms. Annie Lue Williams, Mrs. Susan Hardage, and Mrs. Shirley Jean Singleton. The joy of having her in our lives was shattered when she slipped away to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at her home in Albany, Georgia. He joined the United States Army in December of 1979. While serving in the Army, he earned the Army Service Ribbon, Expert Badge M-16, and Parachute Badge. He served as an Administrative Specialist while stationed in Fort Bragg, NC until 1983. Upon returning to Albany, he worked at Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. until their closing. He then moved on to work at Georgia Pacific for several years, and then Coats & Clark. After many years on the factory line, he settled into construction. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a loyal friend to those closest to him, especially his four legged friends. He was a sports fanatic (Go Dawgs!) and connoisseur of rock and country music. “There’s no way around grief and loss: you can dodge all you want, but sooner or later you just have to go into it, through it, and, hopefully, come out the other side. The world you find there will never be the same as the world you left (Johnny Cash).” He is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Kersey Lewis (Dave), Decatur, GA, granddaughter Lucy Lewis, foster mother, Betsy Olson, Americus, GA, and his beloved dog KoKo.
