A lifelong resident of Braintree, Janet was a devoted parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi. She worked for many years as an executive assistant to several Vice Presidents of the Gillette company.
Janet is survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Obituary Preview: Michael L. “Mick” Richardi, 88, of Braintree, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 3, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Mick was the devoted husband of 65 years to Miriam (Kyller) Richardi.  He was an amazing Dad to his loving children, Michael F. Richardi and his wife Donna, Sherry Richardi and her husband Dexter Carrasco, Cindy Scopa, and Louise Cartwright and her husband Jerad. He is also survived by his cherished grandkids, Seana, Michael Jr., Nicolette, Brady and Zachary, as well as his great grandkids, Genevieve and Christian. Mick was the brother of the late Dorothy “Dot” McKinley and her husband Jack, the late Marie and Patrick Barnes, Leonard Richardi and his wife Shirley, Frances Richardi, and Joseph Richardi and his wife Diane.
A lifelong resident of Braintree, Mick retired from J.F. White, Local 4 as a heavy equipment operator, and had his own custom kitchen cabinet business. Mick was all about his family. He absolutely loved going to his grandkids sporting events and spending time with his great grandbabies. He loved to try his luck at the craps table at the local casinos.

A funeral Mass will follow in his honor at St. Francis of Assisi Church 856 Washington St. Braintree at 12 noon. Following the services Mick will be laid to rest at Blue Hill Cemetery, 700 West Street, Braintree.

Obituary Preview: Rosemary E. (Muldoon) Brown Bernasconi, 88 of Randolph died peacefully March 29, 2022 after a brief illness. Rosemary was a Gold Star wife and beloved mother of three; Michael, Debora and the late Donald (1958-1987). She was the widow of Warrant Officer USA Harold “Sonny” Brown (1932-1959), who was killed in training at Ft. Benning, GA, and the widow of Robert Bernasconi (1935-2020). Rosemary was predeceased by her siblings Barbara Muise and Frank Muldoon.
Born in Milton, MA in 1933 to Frank and Margaret Muldoon, she graduated from Milton High School. Rosemary spent time in Germany, Kansas, and Georgia before settling in Randolph to raise her children. She spent her retirement years between Randolph in the summers and Briny Breezes, FL in the winters. Rosemary absolutely loved her time in Florida. In her professional life, Rosemary was most proud of her title of senior sales associate for Shreve, Crump & Low. She was the top sales associate there for many years.
Rosemary is survived by her son Michael and daughter Debora. Much loved grandmother of Kerri, Shauna, Garrett and Maria, and great grandmother of Ryan, Cameron, Mollie and Patrick. She is also survived by brothers-in-law John Delsignore and his wife Janet, Donald P. Brown, Vincent Muise  all of Florida, and sisters-in-law Barbara Butterfield and her husband Gene, and Dee Dee Bernasconi and her husband Joe both of Massachusetts. Rosemary is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with many family friends both in Randolph and Briny Breezes.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from 4-7PM on Tuesday, April 5 at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37) Braintree. Obituary Preview: Donna Mae (Hatch) Payne, also lovingly referred to as “Mamacita” and “DeeDee”, 84, of Braintree, MA (formerly of Allston and Abington, MA) passed away peacefully on March 26, 2022.  She was surrounded by family and friends in her final days and hours, and exceptionally cared for by the staff of the Dr. Ruth McLain Hospice Home of Braintree, MA.
She is survived by her two sons, Darrin C. Payne and daughter-in-law, attorney Josey Lyne Payne, of Albany, NH; Derek C. Payne of Cuba, NY; her brothers Dana Hatch of Gloucester, MA, and Larry Hatch of Phoenix, AZ; her sister, Leona (Hatch) Meunch of Camano Island, WA; four grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, Clyde O. Hatch and L. Madeline (Fields) Hatch, of Braintree and Rockport, MA; and her best friend of 72 years, Joan (“Gussie”) Brooks of Braintree, MA.
Donna retired at the age of 82 from Air-Draulic Engineering, Co., Inc. of Randolph, MA in 2019. She graduated from Braintree High School with the class of 1955, where she played basketball; and maintained many of those friendships throughout her life and was a stranger to none; she loved with abandon, and was loved by all.  She was an avid reader, and always made enjoying life surrounded by friends and family her priority.  She enjoyed many activities including golf with BWGA; bowling; bingo; and tennis with the Abington Slammers.

Obituary Preview: Carole Doreen (Libby) Malley, after a life well lived and so many cherished memories with family and friends, entered her next adventure on March 8, 2022. Carole lived a life full of adventure during her time on earth and will have so many more looking down on all that she knew and loved. She was truly a class act full of life starting from her birth on January 25, 1937, to her parents Clarence and Lillian (Talmadge) Libby.
Carole was a Social Worker and worked at the Veteran Administration Medical Center in Boston MA.  She was also a member of Toastmaster’s International.  She was always on the move as she could never sit still, she loved golfing, traveling, dancing and just being around people that enjoyed laughing and having a good time.
Wife of the late Edward “Archie” Malley. Carole was the oldest sister and is survived by her brother Mel Libby. Predeceased by her sister Thelma (Libby) Gilbert. Mother to four children; Kimberly (Downey) Tavares and her husband John, Stephanie (Downey) Merrill and her husband Scott, Scott Downey and his wife Ramona, and Todd Downey. She adored her grandchildren Matthew Gifford and his wife Marissa, Alexis Downey, Cheyanne and Nicholas DeMattia, Ryan Downey, and Peyton Merrill. She was blessed with two great grandchildren, Raelyn and Logan Gifford.

Obituary Preview: John Donahue, a lifelong resident of Braintree, passed away March 1, 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Maryanne (Banks), of Braintree, and his two daughters: Michelle Donahue and her husband David Shucosky of Pittsburgh, PA, and Meghan Dwyer and her husband Craig, of Milton.  He was a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Caroline, Colin, and Ryan. He is also survived by his siblings: Richard, Susan Kupps, Michael and Robert.
John was a Braintree firefighter for 37 years retiring as Deputy Chief/Fire Marshall. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He will be dearly missed.

Obituary Preview: Karleen Regina Boretti passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the age of 88.  She was born on September 7, 1933 in Boston and grew up in Readville, Massachusetts.  She has joined her beloved husband Renald Boretti Jr., her parents Elizabeth and John Shea, her sister Marion Flynn and brother John Shea in heaven.  Karleen and Renald were happily married for 52 years and raised their family in Braintree.  They spent their retirement winters with extended family in Sarasota, Florida.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters and their husbands, Carol and Richard Carlson and Jeanne and Ronald Martin; her son and his wife, Ronald and Mary Ellen Boretti: her grandchildren, Mikalah Powers, Lee Carlson, Elyse Salek, Katie Kenney, Meghan Martin, Ronald Boretti, Sean Martin and John Boretti; her great grandchildren Luke, Drew, Brianna Jack, Emma, Owen, Bradley, Josh, Karlee, Macie, and Molly; her brother Robert and his wife Geraldine Shea, her sister-in laws, Joan Auld, Judy Boretti, Beverly Kreger; and many nieces and nephews.
Karleen was a kind and loving person and, above all, devoted to her family.  She worked as a waitress to help put her children through college.  Karleen especially loved hosting holidays and family dinners and teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren card games.  Karleen will be missed by all who knew her.

She was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred O’Brien, a retired Braintree police officer. Married in 1943, Wilfred and Marion were loving and devoted parents to 6 children. She is survived by Carole Guevremont and her late husband John; Dennis and his fiancée Millie; Maureen Charboneau and her late husband Alan; William and his wife Jean; and Joseph and was predeceased by her daughter Karen Parcewski and her husband Larry.
She was also a doting grandmother to 11 grandchildren – John Guevremont Jr. and his wife Donna; Richard Guevremont and his fiancée Malee; the late Dawn MacKenzie and her husband Alan; Alan Charboneau Jr. and his wife Debra; Robert Charboneau and his wife Sheli; Christine O’Brien; Daniel O’Brien and his wife Kathleen; Shannon Battles and her husband MacKenzie; Kevin O’Brien; Michael O’Brien and his wife Jennifer; Matthew O’Brien and Caity O’Brien.
In addition to her children and grandchildren, Marion will be missed dearly by her 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Marion was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who was thrilled to have had 99 years with the family who meant the world to her. Although what she loved most was spending time with her family, she also enjoyed going to the casino. While raising her family, she worked 20 years at Bradlees in the warehouse packing shipment before retiring in 1988.

Obituary Preview: Gail Glennon Dovell 70, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 23, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with scleroderma.   Daughter of the late Alice (Cambell) Glennon and her husband James. Sister of the late Denise Stetson and survived by brother in-law David of Loveland, OH.   Gail is survived by her husband Paul and was the devoted mother to sons Thomas of Pembroke and Matthew of Stafford, CT. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.   Gail was a graduate of Westwood High School 1969 and Emery School of Shorthand Reporting. For many years she worked as a traveling court reporter for Burke Reporting Agency. Later in life she worked for Broadridge Financial Solutions in Hingham.   She will always be remembered by her contagious laugh, sense of humor, and her kindness to everyone.    Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, January 31st from 4-7PM at McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street (Rt. 37) Braintree. Masks are required for all who are attending the visitation. Obituary Preview: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, David Banagis, who passed away January 8th, 2022 at the age of 81. He was a formidable man, a bright spark in this world and will be deeply missed.
David was born in Ovid, Michigan.  After enlisting in the Navy to serve his country, he met the love of his life, our late mother, Beverly Bye Banagis.  It brings us immense joy to know he has been reunited with his Twin Flame, and they are once again dancing.
His Naval journey ended in 1978 and led him to the First National Bank of Boston for the second half of his career.
He leaves behind his four children, Lisa Harrington, Michelle Decelle, Michael Banagis and Sean Banagis.  His grandchildren Melissa Harrington, Jason Harrington, Christine Banagis, Samantha Decelle, Corey Decelle, Jack Banagis and Emily Banagis along with eleven great-grandchildren.  He was the devoted brother of George and Joyce Banagis.
Those that had the opportunity to know Dad, know he never knew a stranger.  He was always willing to help you solve a problem, gave the best advice and left you with one of his poppyisms.  He enjoyed sports and music and you could always count on him to engage you in a stimulating conversation in regards to the paranormal and metaphysical.
He loved deeply and we take great comfort in knowing Dad is now at peace and forever surrounded by the light.

Ginny was a life-long Workers Compensation Administrator and retired from a large shipbuilding corporation in Quincy MA.
She will always be remembered for her kindness and extreme generosity to her many relatives and friends.  She loved to travel and enjoyed her home and beaches in Chatham and Fort Myers FL area. Her BBQs on her deck in Chatham will never be forgotten. Ginny loved to cook and took many cooking classes throughout the years.

Obituary Preview: John “Jack” Young, 94, of Braintree, MA, passed away on December 30, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born in Jamaica Plain to John P. and Mary Ellen Young on April 1, 1927.  After graduating from the High School of Commerce in Boston in 1944, he went on to serve in the Navy during World War II. After his military service, he graduated from Suffolk University where he played baseball.  He worked as a teacher and Vice Principal in the Boston Public Schools for 38 years.
Anyone who knew Jack loved him.  He loved visiting Saratoga during the summer with his friends and family.  In addition, he loved reading poetry, videotaping family events, and playing and watching sports.  Jack and Marie dedicated their lives to taking care of their son John.  He was a dedicated member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree.
Jack is preceded in death by his sons, Thomas and John Young and his sister, June Young.  He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie, his daughter Ellen Collins and her husband Daniel, his daughter Mary Young and her husband Tom Meaney, and his son Richard Young and his wife Michele.  He had 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Obituary Preview: Ralph P. Pompeo, of Braintree, formerly of Quincy passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2021. Born on September 8, 1947, Ralph was the son of the late Clara and Raffaele Pompeo and brother of the late Joseph Pompeo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Rosina D’Acci, and his stepchildren, Michelle (D’Acci) Pamir and her husband Koray Pamir of Warren, MA and Jason Newman and his wife Jacqueline (Froio) Newman of Braintree. He was also the loving grandfather “Papa” to Nicholas and Samuel Newman. He is also survived by his loving Aunt Rita Tosone, his sister Carmela Fimian and her husband Paul and his niece Michelle Whitaker and nephew Brian Whitaker.
Ralph was an avid Revolutionary War student and reenactor. His greatest passion later in life was his membership in the End Zone Militia and cheering for the Champion New England Patriots. He also loved traveling with his wife, Rosina and spending time with his family.
The family is very grateful for the loving care he received at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Hospice of the South Shore.
Funeral services for Ralph will be private. Masks are required for those attending.

He was the dear father of Manuel Pettine (Jr.) of Braintree; Matthew Pettine of Sanford, ME; and the late Michelle Brids of Braintree.  He was also the loving grandfather of six wonderful grandchildren, and is survived by his sister, Mary Cain of Ohio.
Raised and educated in Boston, Manny served with the Army National Guard in the 1960s, before starting his law enforcement career with the Boston Police Department.
Manny was an avid amateur photographer, antique collector, and Civil War buff.

Daughter of the late Lillian (Ferrara) and Antonino Calabro, formerly of Sicily, Italy.  Elaine was born on September 3, 1933 and raised and educated in South Boston.  She held many cherished memories from her youth, including her time cheering for Southie High, sunning down at Carson Beach, and working her first job at The Strand Theater.  Elaine had a smile that lit up the room and her warm and loving personality radiated to everyone wherever she went.  She found her greatest joy providing for her children and sharing in their lives in every manner possible. Elaine was the very heart of her family. Everyone loved coming through her door knowing there was a delicious meal and funny story to enjoy. Elaine will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, especially those she made throughout her 21 years at Logan Park, Braintree.
Elaine is survived by her children, Joanne Bracken (Don) of Sandwich, Barbara Greenberg (Steven) of Sharon, Joseph Canavan (Michelle) of Plymouth, Marie Canavan of Braintree, and Mary-Kate Canavan of Gloucester.  She was the cherished grandmother of Corey, Ryan, and Lily-Rose (Bracken), Drew and Paige (Canavan), and Jordan and Max (Greenberg). Elaine leaves behind her beloved younger sister, Joanne Peterson (Herbert) of Westwood, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elaine was predeceased by her brothers, Antonino (Sonny) and Frederick Calabro.
A Funeral mass will be held Friday, December 17, 2021, at 10:00am, at St. Clare Church (1244 Liberty Street), Braintree. Masks are encouraged. Interment private.

Jim was affectionately known as “The Man, The Myth and The Legend” and could fix anything on four wheels. Prior to his retirement Jim was an auto mechanic for many years on the South Shore.
He was the dear father of James Nicholson of Lakeville, Alan Nicholson of Bridgewater, and the late Gary Nicholson. Loving brother of William Nicholson and his wife Jennie of No. Andover, Michael Nicholson and his wife Lynn of Braintree and Gail Peacock and her husband Dave of Plymouth. He is also survived by five grandchildren and was the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Giuseppina was born in Sulmona, Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1965 with her beloved husband Pasquale and her oldest son Emanuel.  Her second son Michael was born in the United States in 1967.  She worked for many years as a seamstress at Forecaster of Boston and then at Schrafft’s Candy in Boston and ABC retail in Braintree.
She was the beloved wife of the late Pasquale Pansa. Devoted mother of Emanuel and his wife, Debra, of Braintree and Michael and his wife Dulia, of Randolph. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Nathan, Michelle, and Anthony.  Sister to the late Orlando Susi and his wife Concetta of New York, the late Zefferino Susi and his wife Igea of New York, the late Madalena Mangiarelli of Italy and Mario Susi and his wife Maria of Orange, MA.
Giuseppina was a kind, loving and selfless person who always put others before herself. She touched the lives of many with her unconditional love and kindness. She welcomed everybody into her home with open arms and enjoyed the company of friends and family above all else. She loved to cook with vegetables from her husband Pasquale’s Garden and made the best eggplant parmigiana anyone ever tasted.

Dave is survived by his siblings, Gerard Moran and his wife Peggy of Lakeland, FL., Clare Curley and her husband Jack of Abington, MA., and Joseph Moran Jr. of Quincy, MA. In addition to his siblings, Dave is survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
All who knew Dave would describe him as a gentle and kind man who enriched the lives of those he loved.

She leaves behind her loving husband David R. Gargano of 59 years. She was the devoted and beloved mother of David Gargano Jr of Braintree, Susan Barry and her husband James of Abington, Nancy Romero and her husband Marcelo of Braintree, Andrew Gargano and his wife Riccie of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her eight loving grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffrey, Zachary, Michael, Alexander, Antonio, Josephine and Juliana.
Mary was the loving sister to the late Patricia Clougherty and Rita Sheehan. She enjoyed knitting, traveling, playing gin rummy and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Obituary Preview: Ardis MacBride Porter passed away peacefully on Friday October 22, 2021 at the age of 94 after a long and fulfilling life.
She attended Milton Academy and then studied Romance Languages at Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She was an avid reader, knitter, bowler, Masters Class bridge player and sun worshiper, traveling to Florida in the spring, and Cape Cod in the summer. She really loved spending time with her family for graduations, holidays, vacations, weddings and birthdays, and would travel all over the country to attend them. She had a vibrant personality with a flair for style, and she fulfilled her dream by becoming an interior decorator.
She was pre-deceased by her mother and father, Harold and Hilda Fratus, her first husband Edwin Thayer MacBride Jr. and husband Richard Porter. She is survived by her sister, Kaye ”Billie” Mitchell, her children Robin MacBride, Lisa MacBride and her partner, Kevin Mullavey, Thais Halloran and her husband, Shep, Heather MacBride, Ned MacBride and his wife, Jody, and Wes MacBride and his partner, Robin Harkin, along with nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will have a private celebration of life.

Proud and doting grandfather to Tadeusz (Taddy) and Krystian as well as an affectionate uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dearest brother to Michalina Zarzecki of California; Marian Zieba and wife Mary of Pembroke; late sister Eulalia Filipek of Dedham and late brother Karol (Lolek) Zieba of Hyde Park.
Tadeusz served in the Polish Navy and studied at the AGH University of Mining and Metallurgy before coming to the United States in 1966 where he worked as a machinist. He was blessed to be surrounded by a tight-knit family and dear friends. He had a zest for life and an energetic, charismatic presence. He enjoyed reading, music, travelling, gardening, and spending time down the Cape, and later in his retirement down on the Florida Gulf coast. An avid student of astronomy throughout his life, we like to think he’s quite content up amongst the heavenly stars. He will be sorely missed.
