Obituary Preview: Myrtice was born on May 12, 1947, to the late Annie Maude Grady and Mathis Evans, Jr. in Woodbury, GA. She was born the middle child of six siblings and was affectionately known to her family and friends as “Tee Tee”.  Myrtice was educated in the Meriwether County School System and graduated with the class of 1965.  She later united in marriage with Joe Henry Pope and to this union three children was born. After marriage she moved to Alvaton, GA.  And joined Mt.  Sinai Baptist Church.
Myrtice was a hard-working woman, she worked various jobs which included working 26 years with Field & Hedding manufacturing company until the company relocated.  She later began working with the Meriwether County School lunch program and Ingles Grocery store.
Myrtice loved growing beautiful flowers.  She had a talent for baking good cakes for her family members and others in the community.  She loved to travel and never missed taking trips whenever the opportunity arose. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings.
Myrtice moved back to Woodbury and united with Woodbury Miracle Fellowship where she was a very active member and served on the Usher’s Ministry and other positions as needed. She served faithfully until her health began to fail.
She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Joe Pope Jr. (Boo).  She leaves to mourn her passing two sons, Michael ( Bug) Pope (Janette, deceased) and Jerome Pope (Tiffany), nine grandchildren, Javor Health, Jessica Health, Deanna Health, Kimmie Hamilton, Joe Henry Pope III, Jada Pope, Jequavius Pope, Tyrique Pope and Annastasia Epps. Fourteen great- grandchildren.
Myrtice leaves six siblings to mourn her, Maezelle Redding, Dorothy Finley, Clarence Dixon, Carolyn Mahone, Charlie Grady and Eddie Dean Grady.  She leaves two devoted friends Josephine Stargell and Margie Alexander.

In Sharhonda’s young adult life, she graduated from Manchester High School in 1996 and attended Albany State University for a short period of time. She found joy playing basketball, coaching the girls’ basketball team, and watching the National Champions, Georgia Bulldogs. He was a hard-working man, working as a custodian, and bus driver for Meriwether County School System, and retiring from Mead Westvacco in 2004 and Meriwether County Public Works in 2021. Robert was well known in Meriwether County and everyone who knew him loved and respected him through several generations whether it was through working with him or through the school system. In 2021 he joined New Friendship Baptist Church in Greenville, GA under Pastor Roosevelt Render. Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife Mable McGill, son Timmy McGill, grandson Stevie Jackson, Jr. and his only brother, Hubert McGill. Alexander joined the United States Army after graduating high school. After his military career he began his career as a commercial truck driver.
Mr.Johnson enjoyed reading about various topics in his spare time, also he liked to exercise. He also enjoyed spending time with those who loved him.
Alexander was preceded in death by both of his parents. Survivors include his wife Catherine Alexander of Manchester,GA; Sons Alec Johnson of Geneva, GA, and Kenneth Gates; Daughters Jaleesa Fuller, and Vannese Godfrey; Brother Elbert Johnson of Texas; Sister Eina Ogletree of Greenville,GA. "Niecey" departed her life on December 7, 2021. She attended Woodbury High School. She loved her hometown, Woodbury, Georgia. She was employed briefly by Goody Products, as well as Smitty's Cafe for many years. She later retired from Manchester High School, where she served on the cafeteria staff.
