Obituary Preview: Charlene E. Theisen, 75, of Pecatonica, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 8:55 am in Amberwood Care Center in Rockford, Illinois. She was born on April 19, 1946 in Taylor Ridge, Illinois the daughter of William and Mable (Gaston) Crawford.
After graduating high school in 1965 she came to Pecatonica to live with her sister Betty and brother-in-law James Loveall. After graduating from Rockford Business College, she gained employment at Rockford Memorial Hospital (where she worked in data processing for 37 years).
In 1967 she met and married Vernon Theisen from Rockford IL. They were married for 47 years until Vernon's death in 2015.
(Hobbies interests clubs): Her interests were simple. She believed GOD and Family should always came first. She Loved volunteering at the United Methodist Church in Pecatonica. She loved to talk about the fun she would have with the other ladies she was working with all the time. She also loved the time she and a number of her sisters drove to Georgia to visit her sister Alberta.
She is survived by her sons Robert and David.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband Vernon, Jim and Betty Loveall as well as a number of her other sisters.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at Pecatonica United Methodist Church, 528 Washington Street, Pecatonica, IL. Inurnment will take place in Twelve Mile Grove Cemetery. Cremation rites were accorded.
In leu of flowers, we ask for Donations to the memorial fund to help the church she loved so much.

Obituary Preview: Dylan Randall "Ace" Book, 27, of Davis, IL passed away November 18, 2021 at home. He was born October 23, 1994 in Rockford, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick E. and Lisa D. M. (Newman) Book. He graduated from Pecatonica High School Class of 2013. Dylan started his career as welder fabricator at. E. D. Etnyre and finished his last seven years at Monroe Truck Equipment, Inc.
Dylan started Dylan's Lawn Service at age ten. Dylan is known for his smirky grin, as the "go to fix it guy", loved going to Joshua and Brandon farms to help do field work, repair tractors and build equipment for the farm, loved Ford Trucks and loved working on trucks, he was known as a "good wrench", he could tinker with the smallest of items and repair them with his hands and then go work on the biggest of equipment. He was a member of the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. Dylan was loved by his family and friends; his presence will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include: parents Rick and Lisa Book; sister Lexie Book; Paternal grandmother Beverly Book; Maternal grandparents Paul and Dawn Newman; Aunt and Uncle Tina and Rick Barr; several cousins and his loving dog McKenna.
Predeceased paternal grandfather Everett Book and Uncle Randy Book.

Margot Elizabeth Facklam - March 21, 1938 - November 17, 2021

Obituary Preview: Margot (Peggy) Elizabeth (Johnson) Facklam was welcomed into heaven by her loving Lord and Savior on November 17, 2021.
She will be missed by her family and friends. Growing up she loved horses and farm life. She met her husband Robert at a square dance. She would often talk about walking to the movies with her brothers when they were only a dime. In her later years Mom loved spending time with her family and teaching at Rock River School and Pecatonica Elementary School. Her favorite hobbies included gardening, baking bread, crocheting, knitting, baking, and sewing. She loved playing the organ and piano for church. She also served with social ministry, choir, and altar guild. You would often find her washing dishes in the kitchen for church events.
She is lovingly survived by many friends and family including children and grandchildren Sarah (David), Annah and Emma Dulaney; Robert (Susan) Emily and Timothy Facklam; brother Michael (Ann Marie) Johnson; sisters in law Elizabeth (Duane) Johnson Lovett, Georgiann Johnson, Marilyn Gladitsch and Irene Facklam; many nephews, nieces and cousins including Elaine, Marlene and Patti; many very special church and teacher friends.
Margot was predeceased by her husband Robert Facklam, brothers Gilbert and Martin Johnson, brothers in law Warren Gladitsch and Charles Facklam and parents Lulu and Reuben Johnson.
We would like to thank the loving and caring people of Anam Care and special friend Elena for their care and kindness.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 22, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church, 1301 Jackson Street, Pecatonica, IL with Pastor Terry Theiss officiating. He was born on November 19, 1932 in Oneida, WI, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Ella (Schumacher) Brocker. Graduated from Seymour High School class of 1950 and Rock Valley College class of 1983. He entered in the U. S. Air Force on December 3, 1951 and retired as Master Sargent in June 1, 1972. While in the Airforce he married Margaret A. Smith in Phoenix, AZ on December 19, 1953. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for the U. S. Post Office for 21 years retiring in 1994. Owned and operated the Seward Shopping Center for ten years. Member of St. John Lutheran Church, serving as a past elder, Winnebago Library Board, Seward Historical Society, Eugene Barloga American Legion Post #197.
Survivors include: son Donald W. (Diana) Brocker, Jr., San Antonio, TX; daughter Debra (Richard) Goetze, Griggsville, IL; son Richard A. (Julie) Brocker, Sr., Woodstock, GA; daughters Camilla (Bob) Durham, Genoa, IL and Rhonda Knoll, Seward, IL; 14 grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren with one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was born September 13, 1935 in Elgin, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Rose (Corpi) Szula. He graduated from Elgin High School Class of 1953. Entered into the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict from Sept of 1953 to September 1956. Mike married Mary Lou Kenyon on February 2, 1957 in Elgin, IL. Mike retired from Plote Construction as a truck drive working with Teamsters Local #330. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Freeport, IL. Lifetime member of American Legion; lifetime member of VFW and the Marine Corps. League of DeKalb County.
Mike is survived by: daughter Deanna (John) Jaeckel; daughter Debi Hornburg; son Michael P. (Sharen) Szula, Jr.; son Mark W. He worked at MicroSwitch as a CNC Machinist and then atSeward Screw Products as a CNC Machinist. Gary was last employed by J & J Gun Drilling as a machinist. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandson.

Marian Myers - July 28, 1941 - March 26, 2021

Obituary Preview: Marian (Swartz) Myers entered the presence of Jesus on March 26, 2021 at the age of 79. She is now healed and whole after battling Parkinson's disease. Marian was born on July 28, 1941, to Elmer and Clara Swartz. Clara died in childbirth, so Marian was adopted and raised by Elmer’s cousin, Stanley and Mildred Swartz in Telford, Pennsylvania. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior on July 10, 1950 at a Christian Camp. She married Paul Myers on October 5,1957 at Lansdale, Pennsylvania. They settled in Quakertown, Pennsylvania. Together, they raised one son, David Myers, born November 18, 1959.
Marian and Paul were founding members of Faith Baptist Church in Sellersville, Pennsylvania, and served there throughout their lives. Marian taught a 2nd grade Sunday School Class, sang faithfully in the choir and also sang in a Ladies trio at the church for many years. Marian worked tirelessly to provide for her family, sending her son to Christian school and college. Marian loved to read and travel with friends. Her "breakfast club" was filled with ladies she shared her time and laughter with. Paul and Marian had dear friends who they traveled with on many vacation trips!
Marian and Paul were young grandparents, with their first grandson, Chad, born in 1983, when Marian was only 42, but they were faultlessly loving and generous to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren remember fondly trips to the shore, birthday visits, and shopping trips for Easter dresses! Marian's home was always an exciting destination, where fruit salad, apple cider, and Hershey's Kisses were always waiting for excited children. Her back scratches were much sought after by the grandkids! Marian and Paul moved to Pecatonica, Illinois in 2018 to be near their son, the pastor of First Baptist Church in Pecatonica.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Clara Swartz and Stanley and Mildred Swartz and by her brother, Elmer. Marian is survived by her husband Paul, son David and his wife Marcia, grandchildren Chad (Sarah), Amy (Wes Todd), Amanda, and Cory (Nicolette), and great- grandchildren Kailyn, Izabella, Cole, Marisa, Reagan, Chase, Alexis, Carson, and Lacey. She is also survived by her brothers David, Lloyd (Paulene), and Dennis (Judy) and her sister Ellen (Winfield).
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 819 Washington St., Pecatonica, IL on Wednesday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorial Service will also be held at Faith Church of Sellersville, 700 N. Main St, Sellersville PA 18960 on April 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Entered the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean War from January 1951 until November of 1954. Bill worked for Com Ed until he retired in 1989.
Member of Eugene J. Barloga American Legion Post 197. Bill enjoyed playing golf. Wood working was also a hobby that he enjoyed.
Survivors include wife Mary; son Ron (Barbara) Carlson; daughter Eileen (Richard) Scibona; grandchildren Jessica Carlson, Daniel (Karen) Carlson, Elizabeth Carlson, Russell Scibona, Marissa (Collin Viel) Scibona, Joseph Scibona; sister Rita Whitney; special nephew Roger Greene. He was born September 14, 1952 in Rockford, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Dorothy (Walters) Olson. Graduated from Pecatoncia High School class of 1971. Alan married Sherri C. Ketcherside in Russellville, AR on Dec 21, 1974. Alan owned and operated Olson Well and Pump in Pecatonica for many years. During this time he taught tutorials on well drilling. He recently had been working as the buildings and grounds director for the Pecatonica School District. where he kept the everything in tip top shape. He was an active member of First Baptist Church in Pecatonica; where he helped with ministries, building project and anything else they needed. Alan liked to design and build houses and enjoyed doing carpentry work. He loved sports; Alan and Randy owned the Rockford Rams during the early 1980's. Survivors include: wife Sherri; daughter Stacy (Nick) Tomman; daughter Jaclyn (Eric) Lambert; grandchildren Bricen, Zachary (Kassidie), Trey, Roxy, Cole, Jack, Noah, Lexi, Ina Babcox,

He was born on January 4, 1959 in Freeport, IL the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray and Bernadine (Rumler) Harker. He graduated from Pecatonica High School, Class of 1977. He was employed as a machinist by Rockford Automation, LAMB Assembly and Test, Prime Automation and retired from Berner Foods in 2018. Denny enjoyed competing in truck pulling all over the Midwest and recently helped as a pit crew member for Nelson Motor Sports. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include: son Brandon (Heather) Harker; daugther Meridith (Kyle) Bergquist; grandchildren Brinley; Addilynn and Jack; step children Lindsey (Adam) Kuntzelman, Michael Huffman; step grandchildren, who lovingly called Denny "Papa", Landon, Easton and Elise. Brother Bruce (Millie) Harker; Scott (Lana) Harker; sister Tina (Alan) Perkins; numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents.

She was born on George Washington's birthday, February 22nd, 1932 in Pecatonica, IL to Henry and Florence DeGrote. Georgia attended school in Pecatonica, going as far as the 8th grade. When she entered the workforce, she became a switchboard operator, working for many years for Humphrey Cadillac & Olds up until the time she retired. Georgia married Harold Knope in March 1979. They spent a great deal of their married years traveling all over the United States and abroad. Georgia loved each new excursion. Georgia loved music and it was quite common to find her playing music and singing and dancing with her children, grandchildren and nieces. Georgia's family was incredibly special to her and her family will miss her very much, especially her daughters, Carla and Stacee and her son, Kenneth.
Georgia also leaves behind many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Knope, her parents, her sisters, Florence Ardell and Virginia Jean and her brother John Willard.

Steven Ray Waggoner - September 14, 1960 - December 27, 2020

Obituary Preview: Steven Ray Waggoner, 60, of Winnebago, IL went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord on December 27th, 2020.
Steve was born on September 14th, 1960 in Rockford, IL to Newton and Nellie (Kirby) Waggoner. Steve accepted Christ as his Savior at five years old during family devotions and he never strayed. He grew up among his six brothers, one sister, and lifelong best friend, Marvin Stout. After Steve graduated from Auburn high school, he joined the Navy and was in active duty for 8 years. His goal was to be a Navy Seal but due to breaking his arm three times, he was unable to pursue the underwater missions he dreamed of. Stationed in San Diego during his time in the Navy, Steve deployed several times, including standing watch on a ship in the Indian Ocean after the raid of our American embassy in Iran, while Americans were held hostage. He came home and joined the National Guard reserves and started working at the United States Postal Service Office. During Steve's 29 years of service in the military he was activated twice. Once in 2001 on a security naval base in Chicago and again in 2009 where he spent a year in Kabul, Afghanistan going on approximately 250 intel missions on foot. Steve retired in 2015 as 1st Sergeant of the 144th Chemical Company Homeland Security. Steve worked hard and his bravery was exceptional.
Steve met and married Suzanne (Palmeri) Waggoner on October 5th, 1988. They had four daughters, one granddaughter, and two grandsons. He deeply loved his family and in 2001 he fulfilled his dream of building his wife a home in the country with a pool. He focused all his time on his family and was looking forward to retiring and spending his golden years with Suzanne and his adult children and grandchildren. Steve was loved beyond measure and our lives will never be the same. We are heartbroken. He lead his family with grace and character. His contributions to his family and country were significant.
Survivors include wife Suzanne; daughters Kelly Albright, Kirby (Christopher Woods) Waggoner, Margaret (Johnny) Beaman, Mariah (Christian Copeland) Waggoner, Grandchildren Olivia Albright, Grant and Mason Abate; Father Newton Waggoner; Brothers Paul (Judith) Waggoner, Charles (Beth) Waggoner, John (Vickie) Waggoner, Robert (Rhonda) Waggoner, David (Ann) Waggoner, James Waggoner; Sister Ruth (Patrick) Blauch; numerous nieces and nephews. He loved to deer hunt and go fishing. He enjoyed watching Nascar and the Chicago Bears. He also had a great love for Classic Rock and Blues Music. His favorite musicians included Joe Bonamassa, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Lynard Skynard. He spent time playing his guitars. He also adopted several animals from Friends Forever Shelter in Freeport, IL.
Jeff is survived by his wife Diane Smith and daughters Melissa Smith, Angie (Steven Olseen,) grandsons; Andrew, Jonathan, Bryce, Brant and Caleb; brothers Larry Smith of Orlando, FL and Jon Lotta(Renee) of San Deigo, CA and a sister Trudy Khan of Rockford, IL.

Pre-deceased in death by sister Cheryl Rodbro, son Jason Rubenstein and parents Harry and Vera Walker.
Tom loved bowling, hunting, fishing, auctions, Harley Davidson motorcycles and spending time with his wife and children. His love for his two Labrador retrievers was endless. His fur babies were his best friends.

Obituary Preview: Richard Bruce Mohaupt passed away on December 23, 2019, after an extended illness. He was born on July 30, 1948, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Robert James Mohaupt and Inez Victoria Strom Mohaupt. The family moved to Chicago, Illinois, for a brief time, and then settled in the Rockford, Illinois, area--first within the city, then in North Park, where Rick went to school. He ran cross-country at Harlem High School, and graduated in 1966.
Rick entered the army and after basic training worked in the Construction Battalion in Vietnam. After his discharge, he attended college at Northern Illinois University, receiving a degree in civil engineering. While in college, he met Mary Lou Clevenstine, who had attended college with his brother and sister-in-law. They were married at Mary’s parents’ home in Rock Island, Illinois, on February 3, 1973.
Rick and Mary moved to Rockford, where their daughter, Anne Elizabeth, was born. He worked for the Winnebago County Highway Department and later became the Winnebago County Supervisor of Public Works. The family moved to Pecatonica, Illinois, where their son, David Shadrach, was born; and they built the house Rick designed.
Following Rick’s retirement in 2008, he and Mary travelled the globe extensively, journeying to locations in all continents except Antarctica. Aside from his love of travel, Rick was known as an avid reader, computer programmer, and documentarian of his family's daily life and adventures.
Mary died on April 7, 2017, after forty-four years of marriage.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his two children, Anne Mohaupt [Justin Walker], of Rockford; and Shad Mohaupt [Jennifer Graham], and two grandchildren, Logan and Lauren, of Pecatonica; brother Terry Mohaupt [Linda], of Rockford; and nieces Julian Recanzone [Dick], of Portland, Oregon; Hillary Mohaupt [Jen Moses], of Plainsboro, New Jersey; Abigail Mohaupt, of Van Alstyne, Texas; and Susannah Mohaupt and her daughter, Cordelia, of Rockford.
A visitation will be held at McCorkle Funeral Home's Countryman Chapel, 529 Washington St. Pecatonica, IL from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 3, immediately followed by a memorial ceremony at 6:00 p.m., with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. She taught piano lessons in her home for over 40 years. The family would like to thank the Nurses, CNA’s and staff at Generations for their tender loving care.
Survivors include daughters Ann (Amos) Selzer, Carol (James) Miller and Judith Brauer; grandsons Don (Cindy) Selzer and Ory (Meghan) Selzer; granddaughters Erica (Christian) Miller-Spears and Nicole (Jeffrey) Rairden; eight great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. Jerry retired in 1996 and enjoyed fishing at their cabin in Mercer, Wi., traveling, mountain hunting and flying. When back home he restored Vintage scooters and drove one of them to the top of Pikes Peak. Member of the National Vintage Scooter Club.
Survived by wife, Evelyn, 4 Children; Russel (Lin), Mark (Julia), Sandra Pastore, Susan (Randall) Sheetz, 11 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren. Brother Bruce (Phyllis) Doty, Sister Carol (Richard) Gasparini and many nieces’ and nephews’.

She married Chris A. Collalti in 1976. Cindy had worked at St. Vincent’s in Freeport, IL, Wick’s and Sticks and Eddie Bauer. She attended Pecatonica United Methodist Church. Cindy enjoyed gardening, travel and spending time with family and friends. Cindy and Chris had no children of their own, but they were proud to be Godparents to six children, Nicole Tipton, Nate Bush, Garen Kloster, Justin Kloster and Drew Kloster. Jeremy (Johnna) Bush was an honorary son to Chris and Cynthia. Cindy was a loving and devoted aunt spending much of her spare time attending their functions especially baseball games.
Cindy Collalti is survived by her parents Richard and Joyce Whittington, sisters Jan (Tom) Sluiter, and Eileen Whittington, her in-laws Ron and Nancy Collalti, sister in-laws Susan Haughton (Jay) and Laura Wallace; nieces Jillian and Jacalyn; nephews Garen Kloster (Jodi Hinton) and Justin Kloster, nine great nieces and nephews and numerous aunts and uncles.
