He was born on December 15, 1941, in Everson, Pennsylvania to Julia Ann (Sikon) Stanek and Charles Joseph Stanek. He attended Scottdale High School where he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Jean Curtis.  Charles and Nancy raised their five children in Connellsville, Pennsylvania. Charles was a family man. He adored his wife and children and gave his very best for each of them. He loved riding the rollercoasters with the kids all day at Kennywood Amusement Park and then dressing them in their pajamas and piling up all five of them into the back of the green station wagon to go to the Drive-in movie theatre. He instilled in each of his children and grandchildren the importance of a strong work ethic, living a life of service to others and a love for God and family.
In the summer of 2018, Charles and Nancy relocated to Bastrop, Texas to be closer to family. He became an active member at his local church,  Bastrop Christian Outreach Center (BCOC), and volunteered his time using his skills as an electrician in the expansion of the church sanctuary.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Julia Stanek, brother-in law, Tom Brownfield, Sr.  and nephew, Robert Brownfield.
The family wishes to say a special thank you to Dr. Jennifer Wright for her extraordinary kindness and compassionate care for Charles. You truly made a difference in his life.

Charlotte Elta McMahon - May 20, 1939 - February 05, 2022

Departed: 02/05/2022 (Bastrop)
Obituary Preview: On February 5, 2022, Charlotte Elta McMahon (Ms. McMahon} passed peacefully in her sleep from this life to the next. She was 82 years old.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wayne McMahon; and her parents, Wade Lamar Wallace, Sr. and Mabel M. Robertson Wallace.
She is survived by her two sons, Russell McMahon and William McMahon.  She is also survived by her brothers, Wade L. Wallace, Jr., John D. Wallace, Joe R. Wallace and her sister, Jane Campos, and their families. She leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
Charlotte McMahon was born May 20, 1939, in Pensacola, Florida. Being raised in a military family, she lived in many places during her early life. After her marriage to Wayne McMahon, she moved to Deweyville, Texas, where she raised her family. While living in Deweyville, she worked at the Deweyville Elementary School as the school’s secretary for many years. She absolutely loved that job and poured her heart and soul into it. It is not a stretch of the truth to say she was a beloved figure at the school and touched hundreds of lives during her tenure there. Everyone affectionately called her “Ms. McMahon”, and they still do to this day. Charlotte cherished the memories of seeing the young students grow into adulthood.
Upon retirement, Ms. McMahon moved to Bastrop, Texas. During her retirement years, she spent most of her time with family. She also enjoyed traveling with her two sons. Her favorite trip was the one she took with them to Alaska. Her most enjoyable days were those when family and friends came to visit. Charlotte was an avid reader and had a life-long love for books. She loved fishing with family, and cooking; but most of all she loved doing for other people. Her family was, and still is, very proud of her. It is impossible to capture in words the quality of person she was.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, a monetary donation be made in her name to the Deweyville Elementary School Library. Or, a favorite age-appropriate book may be donated in her name to the school library. Nothing would honor her life more than a gift to the school she loved so much. A memorial service celebrating her life is being planned by her family to take place at a future date.
