Obituary Preview: Doloris ‘Del’ Menard, 91, of Pawtucket, passed into eternal life on April 23, 2022. Born in Pawtucket, Del was the daughter of the late George Rattey and Marie L. (Cayer) Rattey, and was youngest of nine siblings.  She was the wife of the late Ernest ‘Ernie’ Menard, who predeceased her in 2012. It is the family she built with him that was her proudest accomplishment. Del is survived by her four children; Michael Menard and his wife Barbara of Cranston, Steven Menard and his wife Diane of Cumberland, Debra Senesi and her husband Mel of Cranston, and Susan Walker and her husband Mark of Wakefield. She was also blessed with five beautiful grandchildren; Michaela Menard, Matthew Menard, the late Marques Menard, Zachary Walker, and Madison Walker; and a great granddaughter, Zara Menard. Beyond those who share her blood, Del was “mom” to many, always welcoming friends of family into her home, and she will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved her. And what will be remembered is her ability to beat anyone in a lobster eating contest, her love for Cheetohs and a glass of wine, and most of all, “having a lot of laughs” with her family. To honor what she loved most, Del’s family will celebrate her life in a private ceremony, with laughter and in memory, to put her to rest peacefully beside her husband at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

John "Jack" Leo Marshall III - September 01, 1934 - April 11, 2022

Departed: 04/11/2022 (Pawtucket)
Obituary Preview: MARSHALL, JOHN LEO III
87, of Naples, Florida passed away in his home surrounded by his family on Monday, April 11, 2022.  Jack and Joananne shared a devoted, loving marriage which spanned almost 55 years and Joananne predeceased Jack in 2014.  Jack was an incredible husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor.
He was a visionary, an entrepreneur, respected for his integrity, forthrightness, and leadership.  He always strived to win and his incredibly positive attitude was infectious.  He had a strong sense of confidence, yet was truly humble.  He loved his family dearly and is survived by his two children and five grandchildren, Lianne Marshall, her husband Rudy Glocker and their boys Thornton and Emmett Glocker and John Marshall, and his sons Jake, Nicholas and Connor Marshall.
Jack was born September 1, 1934 to Anne and John Marshall in Pawtucket, RI.  Jack was the eldest of the three children and is survived by his sister, Ann Borah of Seekonk, MA.  He was the brother of the late Robert J. Marshall.  Jack was a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.  He learned the construction business as he worked at J.L. Marshall & Sons and the real meaning of the four letter word – WORK.
In 1963, Jack and Joananne founded Marshall Contractors, Inc (MCI).  As MCI's expertise and capabilities grew, they became a leading builder of microelectronics fabrication plants and biotechnology labs and one of the top 50 national construction companies.  Jack always stated the success of the business was a result of hiring the right people.  One thing he was most proud of was that MCI remained throughout the years a family-type business.  Jack loved the comradery of the employees going to sporting events, fishing outings, and a relationship of working ‘with’ someone rather than ‘for’ someone.  Jack enjoyed being surrounded by young people and asking them many questions.  MCI was sold to Fluor Daniel in 1996.
Jack also dedicated his time and talents to several different organizations as he started the next chapter of his life…and he would have told you it was so exceptionally rewarding.  He served on the Board of Trustees at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket.  He also worked with Meeting Street School, the RI Philharmonic, and Buttonhole.  Over the last few years, he worked with his dear friend John Lyden and started a first-generation scholarship fund with St. John’s University in Minnesota and was so proud of helping numerous hardworking young men from Immokalee, Florida receive a college education.
Jack became a Florida resident in 2014.  He loved the warm weather and all it had to offer.  He also met his companion Charlotta Anton who he shared the last seven years together travelling the world, connecting with old friends and meeting new ones along their journeys.  They shared a special relationship and he adored the time they spent together.
Jack was an exceptional businessman, leader and mentor to many people, but his family was what he truly cherished.  He loved playing golf, fishing with John and his grandsons and watching sports especially the Celtics.  He loved spending summers as a family and the community he shared at his home in Touisset Point.

Anne Marie was born to Gertrude (Ford) and James McInnis on July 28, 1937 in South Boston, MA.  She was one of six children – four girls and two boys, a loving, caring family.  After two years at Merrimack College in North Andover, MA, she followed the direction of her desire to enter the Order of Our Lady of Mt. Obituary Preview: Obituary - Erik (aka Eric) Olson
Free spirit, kind, funny, caring, adventuror, gardener, great cook, handsome were some of the words describing Erik Olson who died on 2/4/22. Erik, even at 61, maintained a youthful spirit despite fighting the debilitating effects of Lupus in the last few years. He toughed it out, learned about it, and adapted his life to make do with it. His last day was a good one, and then it ended.
He  leaves his son Byron Erik Olson, his mother, Susan and her husband Michael Glossop, his father Raymond and his wife Joanne, and many friends and cousins. Erik kept in regular touch with people he cared about.
Because of his illness Erik had not been able to work in recent years. When he did work he was a skilled Arborist who found art in climbing and pruning tall trees. He lived and worked for many years in Finland, building miniature golf courses on cruise ships and making many Finnish friends. For many years he has been a member of the Portuguese American Club in Providence and took particular pride in keeping “The Club’s” garden going.
Erik had a way of keeping us all aware of life and we will miss him greatly.
There will be a celebration of Erik’s life in the spring. The update will be provided here and other social media at that time.
At the families request, please omit flowers.
