Esther Sciacca Hardison - February 21, 1942 - February 19, 2024

Departed: 02/19/2024 (Plymouth)
Obituary Preview: Esther Marie Sciacca Hardison, 81, of Jamesville, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at her home.
Esther Marie Hardison was born on February 21, 1942 in White Plains, New York, the only child of Joseph and Mina Sciacca.  Kind and compassionate, she dedicated herself to helping others, earning a bachelor's degree in nursing.  In her twenties, Esther moved to Florida, where she later raised her two daughters, Teri and Maria, demonstrating great determination as a single parent. Esther's generosity of spirit extended past her roles of nurse and mother, finding loving homes for dozens of animals in need and even helping an unhoused young man in her community to find work and rebuild his life.  Esther made everyone she met feel like family and, as such, was a mom to so many beyond her own children.  Esther enjoyed working with her hands and was good at many crafts including sewing, stained glass, ceramics, crocheting, and especially jewelry making; of which she turned into her own profitable business after leaving the nursing profession.  Deeply admired by her daughters, Esther had an independent spirit and an ingenuity that defied the traditional roles of her time, like tackling home and auto repairs herself, taking a job cutting greens on a golf course, and fearlessly facing life's challenges on her own.  Thoughtful and generous, Esther had a knack for making holidays special for her family, including her five beloved grandchildren; Nick, Joey, Christina, Mia, and Ella.  Esther had a wonderful combination of warmth and wit, and was led by a deep faith that sustained her.  Later in life she moved to Jamesville, North Carolina, where she found her church home and a community of friends that she truly loved.  In November of 2023, Esther married Mr. Will Hardison and her final months with him were her happiest.  She will be missed greatly.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Poplar Chapel Church of Christ with Glenn Crocker officiating.  Burial will follow in Jamesville Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the church prior to the service and other times at the residence.

Raymond Earl Daniels, Jr. - July 29, 1971 - December 15, 2023

Departed: 12/15/2023 (Plymouth)
Obituary Preview: Raymond Earl Daniels, Jr. died at the age of 52.  He was the best father to his only child, Rae Daniels, the best son to his mother and father, Diane Kiel and Raymond Daniels, Sr., and the best brother to his sister, Kathryn Daniels.  He was so loved and cherished by everyone he crossed paths with.  Ray will be missed eternally by the family who survive him.
Raymond Daniels, Jr. was also known as "Chatterbox" by his loved ones.  He was born on a rainy day in North Carolina.  He was the joy and the light of his mother's eye and her bouncing baby boy.
He loved trucks ever since he could remember.  All his life, anything with wheels caught his eye.  He had a passion for trucks, cars, motorcycles, RVs, you name it; if it had an engine and wheels, he could fix it.
For many years, he lived in Virginia Beach with his daughter and worked as the proud sole driver of Louie's hauling.  He loved driving a truck and providing for his family unit.  He lived a full life in Virginia Beach with many memories of sitting by a fire surrounded by friends.
What most knew and loved about Ray was his love for music.  In childhood, he always had an affinity for the guitar and a good record.  Good music was the beat in his heart.  He loved listening to live music with his many friends, and everyone loved  listening to music and dancing with him.  In music is where his soul will live forever.
Near the end of his life, he moved home to his father, Raymond Daniels, Sr.  He was a joy to his father and a wonderful helping hand around the house.  His final resting place will be in the cemetery on the family farm, as were his wishes.
He was a wonderful and loving person.  He was an accepting, respectful human being and a good man, and his warmth and compassion touched everyone who knew him.
He died much too young and will be sorely missed by all of his loved ones.  Look for Chat in thunderstorms and good music.  He will watch over the ones he loves until they one day are reunited.  Please share any photos or memories you may have of or with Ray Daniels, Jr. with his daughter, as she believes his memory will live on through the good memories he shared with his friends and family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
