Obituary Preview: Farlan Behunin Boulder, Utah
Dwayne Farlan Behunin, 81, peacefully passed away in the arms of his loving wife, Mary, on April 23, 2022 in Boulder, Utah.  He was born August 26, 1940 in Boulder, Utah to Max and Veda May Moosman Behunin.  He graduated from Escalante High School in 1958 and went on to marry Lorraine Baker on June 2, 1960.  They were married for 19 years and during that time had one daughter, Sharlene, and one son, Dean.  They were later divorced. He then met and married, Mary Thomas, the love of his life, on March 26, 1990.  He adopted Mary’s son, Jeremy Thomas on April 14, 1992.

Jerri LaRae Ivie - October 28, 1950 - April 20, 2022

Departed: 04/20/2022 (Richfield)
Obituary Preview: Jerri Ivie Salina, Utah
Jerri LaRae Hunt Ivie joined us in life on October 28, 1950, in Tooele, Utah. She spent many years of her youth growing up in Grover, Utah. Her beauty and friendly nature attracted people to her. Her caring ways made them longtime friends. She graduated from Wayne High School and enjoyed being a beautician in Provo, Utah. But shortly returned to Wayne County to help her first husband build Chappell’s Cheese Company. She then sought more education at Snow College, graduating as an LPN while raising her seven children.
She loved to play guitar and sing. Her older children remember her jamming with well-respected musicians, who still ask about her today. A local TV show recognized her talent and invited her to play on their TV show.
She also enjoyed spending time with family and dancing. She met Dee Ivie on main street in Gunnison and fell in love. They spent the next 27 years raising their 11 children, hunting for Native American artifacts and enjoying life.
Jerri truly faced life as an adventure. In 1998 Jerri survived a life threatening fight with a hemorrhagic stroke and aneurysms to her brain. Because of her grit and resilience, topped with a strong work ethic, she walked away healthy. Even when weak from surgery she faced life with a smile as she would keep “running up the hills”.
When fighting illness and other challenges Jerri helped others enjoy life. A true light to everyone around her, a beacon of acceptance and love, while being true to her beliefs.
She later became Post Certified and started working for Utah Department of Corrections in 2000. She enjoyed helping and instructing the inmates at the Gunnison Prison. She possessed a demeanor of humility and honesty that commanded respect. She is the only prison guard to have the inmates sing “I am a child of God” to help them get a better attitude.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed working in the Manti Temple. She also enjoyed accompanying her children and their spouses in attending the temple.
Due to her passing on April 20, 2022, at her home in Salina, she will be missed by all who knew her, but especially by her husband Dee Ivie; children: Blain and Amy Chappell, Laura and Jay Hales, George and Holly Chappell, Cena and Andy Rasmussen, Melina and Ryan Huntsman, Charles and Erika Chappell, Teri and Doug Hart, Jeremy and Mackenzie Ivie, Angie Ivie, Robyn Ivie Davis and Darin and Lacie Ivie. In 1992, she received the gift of life by receiving a liver transplant. This tender mercy gave her and many others 29 years to enjoy her as wife, mother, Granny, aunt and friend. A similar gift was later given when she received a kidney transplant. Those who loved Kris are eternally grateful to the individuals who kindly donated these lifesaving organs to her. Due to her health, she received amazing care from many doctors and nurses. She is especially grateful for those nurses who cared for her for many years at Liberty Dialysis in St. George, Utah.

Brynn Shipp - February 21, 1964 - March 28, 2022

Departed: 03/28/2022 (Richfield)
Obituary Preview: Brynn Shipp   Joseph, Utah
Our beloved and devoted wife, mother, friend and gran, Brynn D Gardner Shipp, 58,  blew in on February 21 1964 and blew out March 28, 2022 in her home in Joseph. If you were lucky enough to be one of her chosen people you had a love that was with you no matter what.
Brynn touched the lives of many people she met. We all are saddened and heartbroken but are blessed enough to hold this love in our hearts forever. She was witty, selfless and a force of nature. You knew exactly where you stood in her life because she would tell you the truth even if you didn’t want to hear it.
Brynn was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but spent her early childhood days with her grandparents in Klammath Falls, Oregon. Her grandparents were her safe spot. Brynn spent a lot of her time there with her mother at the arctic circle that her “Peggy and Charlie” owned, before selling it and moving back to Salt Lake City, where Brynn ended up going to high school.   Brynn found herself years later back in Richfield to help with family. Brynn was managing the 7-11 where she met her love, Rowland. A mutual friend decided it would be a good idea trying to set the two up. They shared their love of the outdoors together. Many Lake Powell trips to enjoy boating and water skiing. Thirty years of marriage between the two brought two children, Charles and Raquel, as well as two beautiful grandchildren that were her pride and joy Kaden and Rowynn.
Brynn was a foodie who loved trying new foods and cooking new foods. Everyone loved whenever there was a gathering because they knew her food was going to be involved. She had a passion for music. One of the best days of her life, (as she would say) was meeting Steven Tyler from the band Aerosmith and getting to HUG him, lol. Brynn was a bookworm, her bookshelves are full of many first editions of all her favorites. If she could crawl into bed and curl up into a book, that was a good day to her. Brynn had an eye for all things creative and enjoyed scrap booking.
We all hope you are free having your reunion with loved ones and your animals. Ride free on your Pretty Girl, mom.
Survived by her husband, Rowland Parker Shipp; children: Charles Ryker Shipp, Raquel Avery Ship (Carson Maughan); grandchildren: Kaden Shipp, Rowynn Maughan; siblings: Chris Sterritt, Jeff Corbett; step-mother, Cathy Jackman “Super Mom”;  and John Pappas, her step-father of many years.
Proceeded in death by her mother, Claudia Rae Dowding; father, Dale Jackman; grandparents: “Peggy” Marthela Dowding and “Charlie” Darwin Don Dowding; great-grandparents: “Little Granny” Leona Holt and Claude Holt. Cremation services will be held at the Magleby Mortuary Crematory. A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Our beloved mother, Elaine June Anderson Holman, passed away peacefully in her home in St. George on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 88.  She was born to Lee and Stella Jensen Anderson on February 17, 1934 in Salt Lake City. Raised in Ephraim and graduated from Snow College.
On April 20, 1956, Mom married John Cornell Holman and moved to Rose Park (in Salt Lake City) where they worked and raised their three children: Cynthia, Suzan, and John. Mom’s heart broke with the passing of her son, John, on February 19, 2022.

Upon retirement she spent her days doing what she did best—caring for others. We all enjoyed the fruits and labor of her magnificent garden that she tended with such pride. Family and friends were also gifted with her beautiful hand-stitched quilts and embroidered dishtowels.
With the sad passing of Dad in 2003, Mom was blessed to find the love and companionship of dear friend, Gordon Hansen. She so loved the years they had together traveling and getting to know his beautiful family until his death in 2013. To the Hansen family, thank you for all the love and kindness you showed Mom.  Also thank you to dear friend and neighbor, Shauna Peck, for the many years of friendship and aiding Mom when she became too weak to do the things that needed to be done.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, such as the date, time, location, and any charitable donations in lieu of flowers.
