Obituary Preview: Marilyn J. (Shadler) Miller, age 87, formerly of Fleetwood, resident of Maidencreek Place, Reading, passed on Tuesday April 26, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of the late Leon E. Miller, who passed on May 26, 2013. Born in Reading, to the late Daniel B. Shadler and Josephine M, (Haas) Shadler. Raised by Charles and Josephine Heister and Daniel and Helen Shadler.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Fleetwood. Where she was very active serving as a Deacon, Elder, Cook, taught Sunday School for 30 years, a member of Senior Choir and the Wednesday Club.
Marilyn interest were many from volunteering at Rainbow House, cooking and canning in the summer. Doing jig saw puzzles with 1000 to 5000 pieces, playing solitaire and reading She loved her road trips to play miniature golf.
Marilyn is survived by her children Ricky M. Sassaman husband of Patricia Sassaman of San Antonio, Tx; Neil A. Sassaman husband of Debbie Sassaman, Blandon; David M. Sassaman husband of Connie Sassaman, Manning, SC; Sean M. Miller Fleetwood, Susan H. (Sassaman) wife of Bruce A. Fritzinger, Fleetwood. Also 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Richard B. Sassaman, daughter Renee L. Sassaman, siblings Janet (Shadler) Neuheimer, Barbara (Shadler) Weidenhammer) and Wayne Bright. A viewing will be Saturday April 30th from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a service at
11:00 AM in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Church, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood. Entombment in Berks County Memorial Gardens.

Obituary Preview: Earl C.”Skeeter” Stitzer, Jr. , age73,formerly of Fleetwood a resident of Berks Heim, passed peacefully on Sunday April 24 2022 at Reading Hospital. He was the friend of Sandra L. (Katzenmoyer) Stitzer. Born in West Reading the son of the late Earl C. Stitzer, Sr, and Grace E. (Schlegel) Stitzer.
He was a 1966 graduate of Fleetwood High School. Earl was a Vietnam veteran serving in the U S Navy. Earl had worked as an electrician for Polymer Plastics, Reading for 35 years. He was the past owner of the grand Central Tap Room, Fleetwood. Earl was a member of Zion Church, Hamburg. He was a past president of the Fleetwood Fire Company Truck Crew. He also belonged to the Horace Kieffer Post 625 American Legion, Berks County Fireman’s Association, Goodwill Beneficial Association and a fifty year member of the Reading Automobile Association.
Earl is survived by his friend Sandra and children Stacey (Stitzer) wife of Charles King, Stephanie (Stitzer) wife of Jeremy Bogert and Stephen Stitzer husband of Heather Stitzer.
Also surviving are four grandchildren.
Earl was predeceased by his daughter Sheri Stitzer in 2010.
A viewing for Earl will be Thursday morning from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00AM at the Mae A Stump Funeral Home, Inc. 117 West Main Street, Fleetwood. Inurnment will be Friday at 11:00 AM in St. Paul’s Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.

Kathleen S. Herman - December 10, 1929 - April 22, 2022

Obituary Preview: Kathleen Mary Snyder Herman, 92, died on April 22, 2022, at Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville where she had been a resident since 2019.
Kathleen was born in Fleetwood, PA to Mary Miller Snyder and Ray Snyder and attended and graduated from Fleetwood High School in 1947. She attended Reading Business Institute and most of her working years were in the employ of the First National Bank in Fleetwood. She later worked as a teacher’s aide at the St. Paul’s UCC Nursery School.
In November 1950, Kathleen married Carl H. Herman, also of the Class of 1947. They enjoyed 43 years of a wonderful marriage when Carl died unexpectedly in 1994. The marriage produced two devoted daughters: Marta K. Herman, Spring City, and Nadine C. Herman, wife of Peter Bednowicz, Bernville.
Kathleen was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s UCC Fleetwood, where she was active in the Women’s Guild, serving as an officer and participating in the many projects. She sang in the choir and taught Sunday School and Bible School for many years. As a charter member of the Fleetwood Area Historical Society, she served as recording secretary and longtime Board member. She gave freely of her time and talents to various charities and helped many people throughout her lifetime.
Kathleen was a dog lover and enjoyed working outdoors, taking pride in her flower gardens in her younger years. She always treasured the company of people of all ages and made new and lifelong friends along the way. She kept in touch with childhood friends her entire life.
In addition to her daughters, she is survived by three nieces, two nephews, two great-nephews, a great-niece and a great-great niece.
Services will be graveside in Fleetwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Mae A. Stump Funeral Home in Fleetwood has charge of arrangements.

(Cronrath) Oberholtzer, they celebrated 67 years of marriage in June. Born in Bechtelsville the son of the late Clifford Oberholtzer and Florence W. (Wolfe) Oberholtzer.
He was a 1952 graduate of Boyertown High School. Robert was U S Army veteran serving from 1956 to 1958.
Robert had worked at Carpenter Technology for 30 years retiring after 30 years. In 1989 he served as Master of the Huguenot Lodge No. 377 F&M, Kutztown and also was a Shrine member. Other memberships are Christ Mertz Lutheran Church and the Fleetwood American Legion Post 625. He enjoyed gardening, having pinic’s and going out for early breakfast.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy and daughters Deborah A. (Oberholtzer) wife of Mike Madeira and Cindy M. (Oberholtzer) wife of Neal Mazer. Also three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services are private with burial in Hope Cemetery, Dryville.

He loved the outdoors, especially hunting in Tioga County. He enjoyed riding his Harley calling it wind therapy. His other passion was his 67 Chevy Camaro. He is survived by his wife Karen, mother Helen and son’s Scott W. Weidenhammer, Jr. husband of Nicki Weidenhammer of Pennsburg, Nick S. Weidenhammer husband of Stephanie Weidenhammer of Hamburg and Michael S. Weidenhammer, Schuylkill Haven. Grandchildren
Sam, Tyler, Nick, Jr. Brianna, Gemma, and Bella. Other survivors are siblings Robert E. Weidenhammer, Richard C. Weidenhammer and Vickie A. (Weidenhammer) Knepper.
Also surviving are brother in laws Scott Schaeffer and Wally Schaeffer. He will be sadly missed by his beloved dog Harley.

He enjoyed going to his hunting camp in McKean County.

Obituary Preview: Irvin D. Snyder, age 96, of Maidencreek Township, passed peacefully on Sunday March 20 2022 at Willow Brook Health Center, Kutztown. He was the husband of the late Lovie V. (Heffner) Snyder, who passed in 1980. Born in Maidencreek Township to the late Abner and Jennie (Dries) Snyder.
Irvin worked at Allentown Cements, Evansville, for 41 years retiring in 1987. He served in the U S Army during World War II. He loved the outdoors, especially enjoyed deer hunting. Throughout the year he would take many trips to the Evansville Hunting Camp in Clinton County.  His other interest was gardening, which always included a potato patch.
He is survived by his son James A. husband of Susan (George) Snyder of Fleetwood and daughter Anita Y. Klemm wife of Andrew Bortz of Muhlenberg. Also grandchildren Jeremy Foose, Zachary Foose and Jennie (Snyder) Stralo. Two great grandchildren Emily Foose and JJ Foose.
He also has a sister Verna (Snyder) Krick.
Irvin is predeceased by his wife Lovie, son John Snyder, daughter Carol A. (Snyder) Seidel and siblings Walter Snyder, Morris Snyder, Victor Snyder, Mabel (Snyder) Blessing, Helen (Snyder) Gristick, Dorothy (Snyder) Merkel and Betty (Snyder) Heinly.

Vince worked at Carpenter Technology for 30 years retiring in 2008. He was a firefighter for the Walnuttown Fire Co. starting as a teenager to retiring as Chief.. Upon his retirement he moved to Port Allegany. This was always a goal in his life, wanting to be surrounded by nature, hating the hustle and bustle.
He is survived by his nieces Jacquelyn J. (Barlet) wife of Michael J. Wagner, Hamburg; Holly A.(Quillman) Ambrus, Reading. Nephews Thomas L. Barlet companion of Mary A. Graff, Lyons Station and Sr. Master Sergeant Eric S. Barlet husband of Leah P. Barlet, Florida.
Also surviving is a daughter he never had Kristina Miller wife of Duane Miller, Exeter and many cousins.

John was a member of Spies Lutheran Church, Alsace Township.

Reinert III, Ruscombmanor Township; Benita widow of Barry Hepner, Reading; Tiffany Reinert, Maidencreek Township; and Darren Reinert husband of Amy Reinert, California. Catherine L. Lenhart - February 10, 1927 - March 03, 2022

Obituary Preview: Catherine Louise Lenhart died peacefully at Hershey Medical Center on March 3, 2022.  Born February 10, 1927 in Buck Mountain, Schuylkill county, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Florence (Bowman) Jones.
Catherine was a Graduate of Mahanoy Township High School, class of 1945. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, drawing, baking and cake decoration. Later in life she baked for Dempsey's and other restaurants in the Reading area. Her last job was at the Glockenspiel, working there until the fire and permanent closure of the restaurant.
Over the years, Catherine was a member of the Jaycee wives and Fleetwood Woman's Club. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Camp Fire Girl leader, a Fleetwood High Band Aide and an elementary school nurse’s aide. Catherine was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday school secretary/ treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the church choir. She was a great babysitter and taught her grandchildren how to play many board and card games.
While living at Tarsus Manor, she enjoyed playing bingo, dice and cards with "the ladies". When she wasn't with her friends, she loved reading her kindle, word search books, sudoku puzzles and playing cards with her grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by her parents and three brothers Harry, Calvin, and Clarence Jones. Catherine is survived by her son Clarence husband of Elaine, and her daughter, Rebecca, wife of Jeff Starry and Grandchildren Chelsea Lenhart, Allison Hummel wife of Matthew, and Bradley and, Elizabeth Starry and Great-grandson Brooks Hummel. Catherine had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants and flowers. She always had fresh flowers in her apartment because she "wanted to enjoy them while she was alive"'!
Visitation with family from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM Wednesday March 9th followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM in the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc., 117 W. Main Street, Fleetwood.  Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.

Obituary Preview: Former Chief of Police George E. Endy, passed away on Tuesday, March 1st, 2022 after his battle with cancer at the age of 81. George was predeceased by his father Henry R. Endy and his mother Eva M. Endy (Stufflet). George was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, as well as a valued community leader. He proudly served as Oley Township police chief from 1978-2003. George also supported his community through work with Fleetwood Police, Fleetwood ambulance and FOP Berks Lodge 71. He also enjoyed his volunteer work with the Oley fair for many years.
George is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dolores (Dolly) Endy, his brother Ronald Endy, his sister Linda Epler (Endy), his daughter Kelli and her husband Jeremy, his son Kevin and his wife Laurie, 6 grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Viewing services will be held on Sunday, March 6th from 4pm - 6pm. An additional viewing service will also be held on Monday, March 7th at 10am followed by funeral services at 11am. Viewing and funeral services will be held at Mae A. Stump Funeral Home, Inc. located at 117 W. Main St., Fleetwood, PA. 19522. Following the funeral service, George will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Park located at 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606.

Mary had been employed for fifteen years by the former Quaker Maid Kitchen, Leesport retiring in 1992. In her retirement she worked at McDonalds in Leesport. She was a member of Maidencreek Church in Blandon The joy of her life was being with her family especially her grandchildren and her great grand babies. Mary enjoyed country music and dancing. She would spend hours doing hundreds of puzzles. Mary loved to go to yard sales and spring was the time to plant flowers in her garden. Mary is survived by her children David L, Shade husband of Silvia Shade, Daniel R. Shade, Glenn A. Shade, Samuel T. Shade, Nancy L. (Shade) Addison, Diane L. (Shade) Ulrich, Carol A. (Shade) wife of Gerald Paris. Also Step children Marion Christman, June (Christman) Heller, Barbara (Christman) Schappell, and Brenda (Christman) Matney. There are nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Other survivors are siblings Ronald, Raymond, Betty, Christine, and Bonnie. She was preceded in death by son Michael L. Shade, grandson Michael Shade and her siblings Albert, Dorothy and Leon.. Viewing will be Saturday February 19th from 9:00AM to 11:00 AM. at the Mae A. Elam peacefully passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital on February 15, 2022 at the age of 79.
At the age of 6, his parents moved to Berks County as pioneers to a new Mennonite Community.
Dad was the oldest of eight children and grew up on the family farm. He completed his education at the local country school which is now Weaver’s Hardware. After quitting school at age 15, he worked for neighboring farmers.
He found his life’s companion in Bertha Martin and they were married at her home in Fleetwood, PA on December 19, 1963. They shared life’s joys and sorrows for 58 years.They spent their life farming in Berks County except for 3 years in Union County. Their home was blessed with ten children - seven sons and three daughters.
Dad realized his need for the Lord and surrendered his life to him. Our parents came in contact with the Church of God in Christ Mennonite and were baptized on December 26,1976. Christian Life and the church were very precious to him till the end.
Dad’s hobby was gardening and he enjoyed growing new seeds and plants. He taught us by example the principles of  honesty, integrity and good work ethics. Dad fulfilled life’s duties without complaint. Fellowship with his church family was an important source of courage and strength to him. In later years, Dad and Mom also found a special place in their heart for the Lancaster Mission and enjoyed participating in their services.
He left us a legacy of an unwavering faith and security in God’s love. Those left to treasure his memories are his wife, Bertha; Children: Mahlon & Mary,  Mertztown PA; Lucy & Craig Peters, Louisville, GA ; Amsey & Teri, Halstead KS; Emerson & Julie, Lime Springs, IA; Edward & Renae, Bethel PA; Mark & Rochelle, El Campo TX; Eunice & James Bender, Mifflinburg, PA; Reuben & Jill, Eden ID; Wilma & Brian Smith, Ogallala, NE; James & Melanie, Sumner MI; thirty -two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; brothers: Marvin & Ellen, Withee WI; Caleb & Mabel, Fleetwood PA; Ammon & Edna, Kutztown, PA; sisters: Edna and Noah Weaver, Versailles, MO; Erma Leid, Withee WI; Vera and Daniel Nolt, Greenwood WI; one brother-in-law, Luke & Anna Brubaker, East Earl PA; one sister-in-law, Elva Brubaker, Stevens,PA;
He was preceded in death by his parents, and parents-in-law, 1 sister Anna Brubaker, and two infant grandsons.

Mary L. Wesner, 90, formerly of Walnuttown passed away on February 3, 2022. She was the widow of the late Robert W. Wesner.. Born in Richmond Township she was the daughter of the late James I. Hinkle and Elvina M, (Hinkel) Hinkle.
Mary had been employed for many years by the former Fleetwood Shirt Corporation.
She was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. She also taught Sunday School at the former Walnuttown Sunday school. Mary also was a past member of Walnuttown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Mary loved crocheting and making dollies.
Mary is survived by her daughter Constance A. (Wesner) wife of David Reitnauer of Blandon and grandson Travis Reitnauer, Blandon and great granddaughter Morgan Reitnauer. Also surviving is a sister Joyce (Hinkle wife of Linford Schittler of Fleetwood. Other surviors are many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sibling’s Russell S. Hinkle, Rachel (Hinkle) Emerick, Mabel (Hinkle) Snyder, fern (Hinkle) Adam, Loretta (Hinkle) Weidner and Albert Hinkle. Service will be private with burial in Pricetown Cemetery. Obituary Preview: Roy L. Folk 77, of Fleetwood, passed on Wednesday February 2, 2022. He was the husband of Linda M. (Noll) Folk they celebrated 57years of marriage. Roy was born in Reading, the son of the late Clarence S. Folk Sr. and Helen L. (Meals) Folk.
Roy was a U. S. Army veteran who served in the 101st Airborne Division, where he made over 25 jumps. After the service he had worked at Allentown Portland Cement Company in Evansville. He was known as a motor head and would race his copper colored 1967 fast back Barracuda at Maple Grove Raceway and racing hobby cars Dorney Park. He loved watching NASCAR Racing on Sundays. Fishing was his passion and would go every chance he could, enjoying both fresh water and salt water.
He is survived by his wife Linda and children Rodney W. Folk and Donna J. (Folk) Raatzs.
Other survivors include a sister Jean A. (Folk) wife of Donald DeCray and many nieces and nephews.
Roy is predeceased by his siblings Robert Folk, Clarence Folk, Jr., William Folk, Evelyn Folk and Jane Folk.

Obituary Preview: Wesley J. McCulley, age 90, of Rockland Township, passed peacefully on Saturday January 29, 2022.  Wesley was born in Molltown to the late Russell McCulley. and Mary (Moll) LaFaver. He was the husband of the late Jean E. (Fegley) McCulley who passed in 2012.
Wes was the owner of Wesley McCulley general Contracting of Fleetwood for 61 years He was a collector of antique cars and trucks. Loved to play his banjo and listen to country music. He always had a joke to tell people. His vacations were spent traveling and going on cruises.
He was a member of Christ Mertz Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He was a stock holder in the Kutztown Fair Association and a member of the V. F. W. in Macungie.
He is survived by his children Linda D. (McCulley) Troop, New Jerusalem, Lynn D. McCulley and his wife of Joanne of Fleetwood, Keith W. McCulley, Sr. and his wife Theresa of Reading, and Doreen J. (McCulley) wife of John Schweitzer of Fleetwood. Also 15 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Wes is predeceased by his son Michael A. McCulley and his wife Luann. Barlet. and Minerva (Schittler) Barlet. He was the husband of Irene Mae (Gaston) Barlet,  they celebrated 58 years of marriage..
Paul had worked for the former Fleetwood Craftmen Incorporated for 30 years and Garden State Tanning Co.Fleetwood for 11 years. He was a very hard worker, many times having two jobs at the same time. His love of the outdoors included camping and hunting. He was a long time member of the Lions Club and was a member of the Universal O – Heroes Club of Miller -Keystone Blood Center, where he donated gallons of blood over his lifetime. In his retirement years, he enjoyed making candy and baking pies, which he sold at the Leesport Farmers Market.
He is survived by his wife Irene and children Paula J. (Barlet) wife of Jeffery Townsley of Chambersburg, PA,  Paul W. Barlet Jr. of Columbia, PA, Tammy I. Barlet of Maryland, Barbara A. Barlet of New Jersey. Grandchildren Jacob, Christopher, Megan, Paul III, Alysha, Christian, Hannah and Gianni.

Born in Pottsville, the son of the late Stephen Bilansky and Agnes (O’Brein) Bilansky.
Gary graduated from Minersville High School in 1981.
He had worked for East Penn Manufacturing, Lyons for 26 years.  Gary was a referee for girls volleyball games and umpired softball and baseball games. He coached many different sports. He loved going to the beach. When it came to sports he was a die hard Yankees, Colts, and Duke fan.
Gary is survived by his daughter Johannah A. Bilansky of Blandon and his long time companion Laura G. Jahn. Other survivors are his sibling’s Stephen and wife, Kathy Bilansky of  Reading; Mary Agnes (Bilansky) and husband, Robert  Doyle, of Minersville; and Brian and wife, Lisa Bilansky of Pottsville. Gary also had many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM  followed by a celebration of Gary’s life at 7;00 PM at the Mae A. Mark S. Bresler - July 07, 1945 - January 01, 2022

Obituary Preview: Mark S. Bresler, 76, Bern Township, passed away Jan. 1, 2022.  Mark was the 4th child of the late Frederick and Edna (Stump) Bresler.  Born July 7, 1945, in Reading, Pa. He was the husband of Anita Louise (Sternbergh) Bresler.  They were married June 5, 1971, after a 3 month courtship.
Mr. Bresler was a graduate of Reading High School.  He attended one year at Kuztown University before dropping out to enter the Marine Corps.  He served one tour in Vietnam, stationed at Da Nang.  Mark was a graduate of Millersville university and taught drafting at Hamburg School District for 2 years before taking a Job at Carpenter Technology Inc. where he was employed as a machinist for 31 years.
He is predeceased by his sister Beverly Beidler, his brother John A. Bresler, and his son Daniel Q. Bresler.  Mark is survived by his brother Frederick Bresler, son George Bresler, daughter Natalie Balas, and 6 grandchildren.
Mark was a member of many groups, notably: The Wingsnappers and The Barnstormers R/C airplane clubs, the ex-Marine Pistol Club, the Mohnton Rod and Gun Club, and the Rainbow Strollers square-dance club – active in the 80s, and the local HOG Harley Davidson Riders group.
He was a devourer of information and loved the natural sciences, reading books ranging from astronomical physics to the life of caterpillars and butterflies, how to identify mushrooms, and local geology.
Mark enjoyed building and operating remote control speedboats, gliders and airplanes.  He could be found at Blue Marsh Lake flying float planes off the water and any pleasant weekend at local flying fields.  He also was an accomplished carpenter, enjoyed repairing old pocket watches, loved surf fishing at the Jersey and Delaware beaches, and was happiest while riding motorcycles, sometimes clear across the country.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Mae A. Stump Funeral Home in Fleetwood, Pa on January 16, 2022 at 3:00pm with burial services and military honors at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery the following day at 9:30 am.

She graduated in 1955 from Fleetwood High School. She was married to Roger L. Anderson. Phyllis had worked for the former Fleetwood Shirt Corporation. She later worked for the
former H. O. Foose Tinsmithing for 20 years making 4 million cookie cutters.
Phyllis was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Phyllis loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the birds at her bird feeders, along with the pesky squirrels. Her favorite hobby was taking trips to the casinos.
Phyllis is survived by her son Barry M. Anderson (husband of Nancy) and daughter Doreen M. (Anderson) O'Neil (wife of Tim), grandchildren Erin O'Neil, Chase Anderson, and Kelsie Odhner (girlfriend of Chase), as well as grand-furbabies, Baxter, Oakley, and Torquey. Other survivors include a brother Ricky C. Moyer.
She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald L. Moyer and sisters Sandra (Moyer) Gardner and Eileen (Moyer) Wessner.
Phyllis was taken from us way too soon, and will be dearly missed by her family that loved her very much.

He graduated in 1957 from Fleetwood High School. After high school, Roger enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and served until 1961. He was married to Phyllis J. (Moyer) Anderson.
Roger had worked for Berylco Corporation which became NGK Metals, from which he later retired.
. In his retirement, he worked for H. O. Foose Tinsmithing for 20 years as a pattern maker.
He loved woodworking and was a member of Bucks Woodturners and Keystone Woodturners, and he would spend Tuesday nights at Dave's in Michael Kehs Woodworking Shop. Roger was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood Fire Company
Auxiliary, Perry Gun Club, Fleetwood Fish and Game Association, and the Fleetwood Fish Rodeo.
His favorite pastimes were hunting, going on hikes, and woodturning. Roger also enjoyed helping in the concession stand at the Fleetwood Community Carnival.
Roger is survived by his mother Mary Jane, son Barry M. Anderson (husband of Nancy) and daughter Doreen M. (Anderson) O'Neil (wife of Tim), grandchildren Erin O'Neil, Chase Anderson, and Kelsie Odhner (girlfriend of Chase), as well as grand-furbabies, Baxter, Oakley, and Torquey.
Other survivors include a brother Russell J. Anderson and sister Ruth M. (Anderson) Manmiller.
He was preceded in death by his brother David A. Anderson.

Nora Weaver - February 24, 1952 - December 23, 2021

Obituary Preview: Nora Martin (Hurst) Weaver of Fleetwood, PA, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021 at the age of sixty-nine. She was born to Amos and Martha (Martin) Hurst on February 24th 1952 in
Ephrata Pa. She grew up on a farm in Lancaster County Pa. She met Dad at a youth gathering and married him February 7, 1974. Dad and Mom enjoyed 47 years of marriage. They were baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite on April 3rd, 1978 by Sylvan Yoder in Mifflinburg,
Pa., she remained faithful to her vows with a simple trusting faith. Her passing came after her final struggle with cancer. She suffered numerous life threatening health issues that she faced with quiet courage and without complaint. She survived
multiple open-heart surgeries and several bouts with cancer in the last 20 years.
Our mother was a faithful homemaker and diligently saw to the needs of her five sons. Mom enjoyed her time spent in the tract work with Dad in Hartford, CT for two years when the work began in the city. Mom never missed a sewing day; it was very important for her to be there. She never missed anyone’s Birthday, especially the grandkids, always bringing small gift
when she could. Her love for flowers was not a secret to anyone. She left her home decorated with flowers in every room. She was a natural green thumb. When we were young, she managed our
half acre garden and fed us well. Survivors include her loving husband Adam, Fleetwood, Pa. Her five sons, Leonard and Kathy, Nevin and Helene, Andrew and Jan of Fleetwood, Pa, Delbert and Amber of Eaton, Co and Virgil and Leanne of Reading, Pa. Her brothers Ivan and Alma Hurst of Curtiss, WI, Amos and Vera Hurst of Shippensburg, Pa Her sisters Edna, Verna and Lucy Hurst of Ephrata, Pa sister in-law Rebecca Hurst of Shippensburg, Pa and 19 grandchildren. And her in-laws, nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her parent in-laws, one brother Edwin Hurst,
a brother in-law and one grandson Dylan.
A viewing will be Monday December 27th from 2:00 PM to 4:00PM and Monday evening 6:00PM to 7:30PM at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, 1077 Richmond Road, Fleetwood.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00AM at the church followed by burial in church cemetery.
