Born in Far Rockaway, he lived in Long Beach most of his life and most recently resided at the Long Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Robert served in the US Army as a paratrooper, and worked in the grocery business before his retirement.  "Bobby" was always known for his quick wit, and his ease with people, always putting a smile on everyone's faces. He was always making friends, even in his later years.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Jenny, and his nieces and nephews, grandniece and grandnephews.

Genevieve exuded joy and breathed life into all of our family gatherings. She was a devoted family member who gave each of us who survive her–eight siblings and our mother who was under her care–endless memories of happiness and selflessness. She now joins our papa in heaven.
Genevieve resided in Long Beach, NY, where she enjoyed bike rides and walks on the boardwalk and the company of family. She was born in Bulan, Sorsogon, Philippines; and she graduated from Lagro High School (Quezon City, Philippines) Batch of 1986 and Hunter College Class of 1994 with a Bachelor’s in Nutrition and Food Science. She had a career as a Registered Dietitian and devoted her life to caring for others and being the best tita to her nieces and nephew whom she loved and who, in turn, adored her for her fun-loving and generous spirit. Genevieve is truly loved and her life was a blessing to us all.

Barbara is survived by her husband, John in Rockville Centre, NY; her son John in Chapel Hill, NC; her daughter Barbara Mayo & her son-in-law Stephen in Merrick, NY; her son Matthew in Queens, NY; and her granddaughters Charlotte, Caroline, & Claire Mayo in Merrick, NY. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rosemarie & Louis Facinelli.
Barbara was born on September 5, 1948, in Queens, NY. She graduated from St. John’s University in 1971, with a master’s degree in education. She started her career as a teacher at St. Sebastian’s School in Woodside, Queens before marrying and starting a family.
Barbara married John Quinterno on June 30, 1973, and the couple moved to Rockville Centre, NY, where they remained until the end of her life. The couple eventually had three children, all of whom attended St. Agnes Cathedral School and various Roman Catholic high schools on Long Island.
During her time as a stay-at-home parent, Barbara was active in her children’s educations and in the life of the Parish of St. Agnes Cathedral. She volunteered as an adult leader for Girl and Boy Scout troops connected to the parish, and she also facilitated various religious awards programs for Roman Catholic scouts.
In the late 1990s, Barbara returned to teaching full-time. She worked at several faith-based preschools in Rockville Centre before joining the staff of the Rosa Lee Young Childhood Center, where she was a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of early education classes until retiring in 2019.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 9:45 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at the Cathedral of St. Agnes in Rockville Centre, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barbara’s life. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at Macken Mortuary in Rockville Centre, NY. MJ was born in Rockville Centre , New York to Frank and Eleanor Higbee. The middle child between her brother Frank and sister Eileen. After raising her 7 children in RVC she settled in Long Beach where she taught her grandchildren how to swim, spent time on the beach, and enjoyed the ocean. Mary Jane was involved in the soup kitchen at St. Mary’s where she enjoyed cooking and serving the community. Mary Jane lived in the Kennedy House apartments for 20 years where she found a community of dear friends.
Mary Jane will be remembered as a loved mother, mama and great grandma. Her beauty, humor, elegance and wit will be greatly missed. She was one of a kind.

Barbara grew up in Brooklyn, the daughter of John and Ann Kelly. Barbara and her husband Thomas moved their young family to Rockville Centre over 50 years ago, where Barbara became deeply involved with the community and St. Agnes Cathedral Parish.
Barbara loved the beach. Malibu was paradise! She loved her Bridge clubs, Mercy League, Rosary Altar Society, Fortnightly, St. Agnes Mother's Club, PTA, and St. Agnes CYO.
Barbara’s true love in life was being a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Nanny, as she was affectionately called, loved going to all of her children's and grandchildren’s sporting events, plays, gymnastics, recitals, and art shows and especially going out for ice cream after. Nanny loved fashion and dressing to the "nines".
Barbara is predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Thomas Francis and her children John Michael and Colleen Moira.
Barbara is survived by her children, Thomas (Theresa), Bonnie (Edward), and Peter, her treasured grandchildren, Brendan (Laura), Keith, Chris (Lauren), Courtenay, John, Caroline, Alex, Ian, Jacob, Kelly (Anthony), Elizabeth, Thomas, Katherine, Kristen (Mark), John Michael (Chelsea), Ryan, and Justin, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Annie, Molly, Claire, Cooper, and Ruby.
Nanny's strong Faith, sense of humor, and genuine love of people, is how she will be remembered.

Steven Bryan Lynch, 62, of Amityville, New York, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Steven was born on April 10, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York, to Raymond “Ray” Edward (deceased) and Trudy Lynch. He graduated from West Islip High School, West Islip, New York in 1980, where he earned three varsity letters as an inside linebacker, and attended the University of Buffalo, majoring in Finance.
A successful Wall Street executive and well-respected mentor to his colleagues and acquaintances, Steven held senior posts as a Managing Director Head of international trading at Citibank, HSBC and JPMorgan. Through his business interactions, he developed life-long relationships across the globe and always found time to offer advice, had a passion for mentoring people to ensure success both professionally and personally. With humor and dignity he helped others solve business challenges and make new business relationships.
Steven was a friend to all. His kindness, compassion, humor, and genuine care for others made every person he encountered feel special. Most recently, he channeled his passion for helping others into leading business operations at Atria Tanglewood, a senior assisted living center in Lynbrook, New York. There, he established himself as trusted partner to his colleagues, clients, and their families. Everyone knew they could count on Steven to ensure people living at Atria would receive exceptional, compassionate care, always with a twinkle in his bright blue eyes.
Family and friends were most important to Steven. In his free time, Steven enjoyed hosting family gatherings, waking up early to grill up breakfasts that rivaled the best short-order cooks, coordinating weekend outings at the beach and showing off his elaborate Christmas Village that he would build and display during the Christmas holidays. He was an avid New York Mets, Jets and Islanders fan. He celebrated every victory with great zeal; similar to other NY spots fans, he felt his teams’ losses deeply but always remained loyal.
Steven is survived by his mother, Trudy, his four children, the loves of his life, include Meghan (Kevin) Brown, Steven (Daniella) Lynch, Chelsea Lynch and Timothy Lynch and his one and only granddaughter Reagan Brown. His two brothers, Raymond (Stephanie) and Scott (Linda), his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Anthony and Rosemary Gerrato, his brother-in-law, Anthony (Lisa) Gerrato, and his sister-in-law, LeeAnn (Jason Kroll). He was blessed with nine nieces and nephews, whom he doted upon, including Bryan (Lauren) Gerrato, Ryan (Jackie) Lynch, Jennifer (Derek) Bush, Oliva (Brian) Burlage, Scott Michael Lynch, Sofia Gerrato, Maddy Gerrato, Lindsay Gerrato, Elena Gerrato. As well has his newly added great niece, Charlotte Bush.
He was predeceased by his beloved father Ray Lynch and his brother-in-law, Glenn Gerrato.
Visitation will be held at Macken Mortuary in Rockville Centre from 3pm-7pm on Sunday, April 14. A Catholic mass will be held at St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre on Monday, April 15 at 10:45 am.

Obituary Preview: We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our Mother, Suzanne Lynne Anderson on April 5, 2024 after a brief yet incredibly courageous battle with Stage IV Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Mom was 70 years old. Her family, friends, and patients were her world. A Psychoanalyst by trade, she had her Private Practice in Rockville Centre for over 30 years. She was an avid skiier (Grumman Ski Club), swimmer (Unqua Corinthian Yacht Club), and rower (Sagamore Rowing Association). Mom was tough. Her boundless energy along with her infectious smile and laugh always seemed to leave an impact on people she met. She built others up with a compliment and made a point to ask about your family and what you had going on in your life because she cared, and she remembered. She was the glue of our family, was so loved, and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her two sons, Erik Peter, wife Erin, and Alexander Justin, wife Kathryn, along with her 3 grandchildren, Peter James Anderson, John Ryan Anderson, and James Kelly Anderson. Her brother, Edmund C. Neuhaus, his wife Elizabeth, and their three children Jack, Lily, and Ruby.

Lidia was born on 7/22/1932 in Prata, Italy to Domenico and Angelina Freda. She went to trade school in Italy and become a master seamstress/dress maker. She married Enrico, in 1959. Over the course of 12 years, the couple welcomed 2 children into their home through adoption. Her children remember her as a generous, devoted and loyal mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Lidia was accomplished at sewing and knitting and often made hats, scarves and clothing for her loved ones. She was a generous and dedicated individual who loved to cook and who was passionate about preparing delicious Italian meals for her loved ones.
A wake is scheduled at Macken Mortuary in Rockville Centre on Wednesday 3/27 from 4-8pm. A funeral is scheduled at St. Agnes Cathedral on Thursday 3/28 at 9:45 am. Fr. Duffy will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lidia’s life. The family would like to thank Theresa Home Care Agency for their compassionate care throughout Lidias final days.

Frank J. Brunetta - May 17, 1958 - February 19, 2024

Obituary Preview: Frank J. Brunetta, 65, former Rockville Centre native passed on peacefully February 19, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born May 17,1958 to the late Anthony “Mr. B” and Ethel Brunetta of Rockville Centre, Frank was predeceased by his younger brother Thomas. Survived by brothers Anthony (Roberta) and Joseph. His many cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends will miss him dearly.
A free spirit, quick with a smile, Frank was an easy going, kind and caring soul. He loved all sports, played LL Baseball, varsity basketball at South Side H.S. and on “The Place” adult league softball team. Good season or bad, Frank was a loyal Yankees fan.
Unafraid, Frank “thumbed” his way around the US, playing his guitar and traveling to many a Grateful Dead concert or Bluegrass Festival with his closest friends. A voracious reader, he especially enjoyed the writings of J.R.R. Tolkien. Unbelievable as it may seem, Frank found time to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from California State University – Chico. After graduating, he worked for the US Forest Service in northern California as a Wildland Fire Fighter recalling years later, “it was the best job I ever had.” Eventually Frank returned east and worked in NYC as a photographer and in graphic arts and later as a licensed Insurance Agent.
Frank always enjoyed spending time with his family and lifelong RVC friends, whatever the occasion. He treasured his two rescue dogs, Diggidy and Nikko and remained forever heartbroken when their times came, now reunited.
Friends are invited to call May 2, 2024 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Macken Mortuary 52 Clinton Ave. Rockville Centre, NY. A private scattering of ashes is planned at a later date.

Obituary Preview: Catherine Sirey, 82, of Rahway, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, during World War II to Ellen (Nellie) and Thomas Carberry, Catherine endured tough times during the war and survived bombings by the Germans.
She was proud of her career in the insurance industry, and eventually retired with the Fireman's Fund. Catherine survived the tragic events of September 11, 2001, while working on the 48th floor of Tower Two in the World Trade Center.
Catherine was cherished as a devoted family member and friend, known for her beautiful personality and generous heart.
