Timothy F Turner - December 12, 1958 - May 19, 2024

Departed: 05/19/2024 (Waterford Twp)
Obituary Preview: My father, Timothy Franklin Turner, age 65, passed away May 19, 2024, at his home following a sudden heart attack.
My dad was born on December 12, 1958, in Royal Oak, MI to William and Edith Turner. He was in Michigan most of his life but also spent a few years living in Tennessee with his parents and three siblings: Mike, Janice and Larry.
He was a graduate of Dondero High School and went on to serve in the Army shortly after he graduated. He didn’t speak much of his time in the army but was very proud to have served his country. After the army, my dad went to school to become an engineer and got a job at Barnes Industry where he worked for almost 40 years.
In July 1984, he married his sweetheart, Rose Cokewell, at Calvery Christian Church and settled in Madison Heights, MI where they raised me (Stephanie) and my sister, Jessica for many years.
In the last ten years, my dad moved to Waterford, Michigan to be close to his daughters, son-in-law, Erno and his grandchildren; Colton (8), Eli (3) and Zoey (3). He couldn’t get enough of his time with his family, and you’d find him spending almost every weekend with them. His favorite thing was to grill a steak and relax watching a good movie.
He loved working with his hands on projects around the house, but it was the projects we did together that I will always remember. He truly loved working with wood and has made many items for us all that we will cherish deeply. Just to name a few, he made beds, nightstands, swings, wall art, Christmas trees and even nativity scenes.
Anyone who met my dad knew he was genuinely a good soul. His trust in God, country and family is what carried him through day to day. My dad loved country music, telling a good joke, playing chess with Colton, giggling with Eli, telling Zoey what a beautiful princess she was, helping Erno mow our lawn and grill, but mostly he spent his whole life spoiling his three girls – my mother, sister and I.
We miss you dad. You are forever and will always be our hero. We will see you again one day. *Hugs & Kisses* Daddy’s Little Girl – Stephanie He only Takes the Best – “A Golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us.
He only takes “the best”. -Unknown Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain There will be a celebration of life for Tim held at the VFW Hall located at 1690 Airport Rd, Waterford Twp., MI 48327 June 1st, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Tim will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly, MI If you wish to send flowers  for Tim's  service, please send to Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 5391 Highland Rd. Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing essential information to those who need to know about the passing. What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the deceased's full name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service (if applicable), hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members.
